Kalimare looked up and over to Gin and Lynx.

"How many archers, then, do you suppose would be guarding the tunnels, if any at all?"

Tamakatari and Vace found the mess hall. It was a very large room, with many tables in the middle, and large rectangular holes in the walls where the people were served their food from. Tamakatari went up to one of the holes and a Aviona cook looked at him.

"Hello, sir! What would you like?" Tamakatari looked back into the kitchen.

"What have ya' got?"
"Our kitchens are fully stocked with food of almost every variety."
"So, I can pretty much order anything, right?"
"Yes sir!"
"I think I'm gonna like this place. I'll have steak and eggs, with some fried potatoes, rye toast, fresh butter, some cinnamon oatmeal, and a large glass of milk." The cook went back into his kitchen, and after hearing several minutes of pots bashing and food flying, the chef walked back with a tray.

"Here you are, sir!" Tamakatari grabbed the tray.

"Thanks." He turned, and looked for a spot to sit. There was one table that was still free. He sat down at one end of it.

"How is that not suicidal? The wyvern's may be mobile but we don't have many of them. Not enough for your plan to succeed."

"If I was Cid, I would find every entrance to the sewers, and block up the small ones. The bigger ones would be baricaded, but a small opening for a line of archers with longbows to see out and shot anyone who is in the sewers. Of course, that is just me. I assume that Cid will atleast six archers for the bigger entrances, or he may just block them all up."

Lynx turned to Gin. "Never been here before, have you?"

OOC: They also have explosives. I don't think a shield will do much when one is chucked behind it.

OOC: I'm guessing since the Avionans are birds, I better not ask for chicken or turkey...

"Hmm, I'll take a steak as well, some bread and butter, and a glass of water." Vace said, not being as hungry as Tama since he had made sure to stock up on rations before the battle and had eaten them on the way back. After a short wait, Vace got his meal as well and went to sit at the table with Tama.

"Hmph, can't believe Ark charged right into the enemy force like that, nearly got himself killed." Vace said, thinking out loud. "And Lynx and Gin are up there arguing about another point of battle. This is insane, there has to be a way to stop Cid's army and his new weapons. No weapon is perfect, and that weapons flaw is fighting in a forest, where limited visability and fireing range means if we could engage his troops away from the guns, he would have to take hideous friendly fire casualties to take us out. We can just never come up with enough troops, there has to be some solution to our numbers..."

OOC: You realize he would just burn the forest with his weapons...

"Your strategy looks good on paper, but in practical application you have one major flaw, that you fail to recognize. Aviona is a small nation with a powerful but small army. Aethenia is ten times the the size of Aviona in terms of land and 20 times the size in population. it's army is 15 times the size of th avionian army. that's 15 men for every wyvern. Wyvern cavalry only averages 6:1 kills that's still 9 men left for every wyvern."

((IHMN, if this is similar to the explosives used in LotR, or any of the explosives of the middle ages, we don't have too much to worry about when in a tunnel. I don't think they had hand grenades or anything that small in this particular storyline...but, i may be wrong.))

"Then let's try something different. The wyverns will be a distraction, as stated earlier. But, instead of small amounts of soldiers going through the sewers, send hundreds, if we still have that many. Once inside we should have too much trouble. Trust me, most soldiers cringe at the sight of so many coming at them when their own numbers are not as large, even if it is only for a short moment, they will be afraid. Especially if they use farmers. And instead of using your moveable barricade, lets make a mobile shield-bearing group to go into the tunnels, though the mantlet may help. And, Lynx, in the chance he does block the sewers up simply with barricades, we use your Goblin Bomb thing that you mentioned to get rid of them, meaning you may be in the front lines. Don't worry, I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

Tamakatari tried to cut his steak, but the knife was too dull. He continued to try to cut it while he talked.

"It's simple, really. I just wasn't going to tell the two dumb-asses back in the infirmary. We fight fire, with fire. We fight superweapon, with superweapon. That's Cid's weakpoint. He's so sure that he's the strongest guy around, he can't even comprehend that someone else might have something stronger than him. Thus, he won't be ready for something. Especially since he'll probably be monitoring all materials coming into this area. He'll think that he'll know if we're making weapons. But, he forgot one thing." Tamakatari got fed up with his knife. The knife began to glow, and slowly, it changed into a sword. The blade gleamed in the light. He used his sharp sword to cut easily through his steak.

"I can turn anything into a weapon. Like, say, something that can fire some of those goblin explosives farther than his weapons can reach."
