Who has played Warcraft 2?
I ask this question for a couple reasons.
One, I thought it was totally awesome from the first time I played it (I think I was around 10) and was just wondering about everyone else. Two, I realized that most people never played Warcraft until the third one was released, which caused me much distress as I totally loved 2, and virtually no one else (at least around here), had even heard of Warcraft before 3 came out. And now for the question that drove me to write this: How many people here played 2 BEFORE 3? As a side note 2 was much harder than 3 as I still can't beat it without cheating and I beat 3 in about a week. |
I played it. I still remember clicking on the characters.
Join the army, they said. See the WORLD, they said. I'd rather be sailing. Who wants to sing? And so forth. I played it long before three came out, and to this date I haven't actually played three. I am a heretic. |
Saw the first, played the second, never touched the third.
Hard game, it was... and trolls rule. Axe-throwing Berserkers forever! |
Played through the entire damn campaign, no cheating, at age 11. Played it with my brother, aged 9. We played economic warfare, basically, for which reason we loved the Alliance. Towers to guard base until you get paladins, then the paladins heal EVERYTHING IN SIGHT. Sit tight, wait for the AI to exhaust itself, then start snipe attacks.
Last Horde mission remains the hardest strategy mission I've ever played. Heh. I remember we had an argument on how to win Broodwar, though. That last mission in Broodwar sucks balls, let noone tell you different. |
* raises hand *
Though I still prefer Starcraft to the Warcraft universe, the second game was more fun than the current, in my opinion. |
Yep, I played the original WC2 when it first came out. I think it was the last map on the Orc campaign that was ridiculous; they started you off on a tiny little corner of the area and you had to build up a small force, transport them to the mainland that was controlled by the Humans, and the second you touched shore you'd have a swarm of mages polymorphing the shit out of your units.

Yeah,I remeber playing WC2 before the 3rd came out,but then I was pretty young(and had no idea what bloddlust did),so I never got really far.I picked it up again a bit more recently,and played all the way to the last orc mission,which I never got around to finishing.
Bah.Destroying Dalaran and that filthy elf place was much more glorious than "Lordaeron",this lame island thing. |
T'were the first real game I played on the PC, fo' sho. Though I have to say that I think WC3 is a better game due to its diversity and thus complexity. Meh.

Warcraft 2 is one of those games that I remember playing, but don't remember anything about it. I do remember though, that I sucked at it. I think I was around seven or so when I first played it. I did a lot better at Starcraft for some reason. Those two games where the first that I can ever really remember playing.
I have yet to play Warcraft 3, but I'm very tempted to after watching others. I plan to pick it up once the price drops low...very low. |
I was a C&C kid...
