Is this just another "cold fusion"?

Is this real?

Because if it is, the world has now changed for the better. We just need to invent adamantium and we humans will have finally served our ultimate purpose!

if it isn't... meh! we've lost nothing.

Yes, it is real. I can only hope the science is taken far enough in my lifetime to extend my lifetime for centuries to come!

A man can hope. :D

Yeah. I want to have regenerating organs and live to the age I choose. Who knows, maybe even be immune to diseases or injuries.

The potential for this among humans would be great. And I can already see the groups going against it....

Oh this is exactly what we need right now, nothing like having soldiers who can be shot to death, regenerate then get back up to be shot again.

Just think of it, zero casualty wars.

This seems too good to be true. I'm skeptical for now.

The information seems impossible. Does it imply that they regrew their hearts? I doubt they can heal themselves while they're dead.

...and pretty much the only way to kill those soldiers would be to bomb them...

Not if you cut off their head...

They don't regenerate within milliseconds. They have discovered mice who regenerate body parts, they haven't found mice who regenerate any more quickly than ever before.

I'm sure in the future we will be growing hearts and lungs and eye balls and other things. A heart should be replaced every 60 years. Maybe sooner if you want higher performance. Eyes get bad after 40 years. Lungs get pollution and smoke and things in them depending on if you're a smoker and if you live in a valley city. If you get your leg blown off in a war you could get a new one, theoretically, or regrow yours if you get this genetic code which would allow you to on your own. Regrowth might take months, though, until they find the gene which speeds that up....

Maybe we'll live forever, afterall...

Not quite. I thought that too, at first, but if you look more closely, you'll see that it says they regrew amputated limbs and damaged organs. Obviously, they need enough of themselves left whole to continue living while the damages heal.

I'd have to say the craziest bit is the ability to heal brain damage. That is just insane.

And that is one ironic sentence.

Anyway, this is quite the interesting discovery - a real 'healing factor'. If this can be mimicked for humans in even the slightest way, medical science can take great leaps and bounds in healing - Let's grow these bad-boys, stat!

The mice invloved remind me of good ol' Doug Adam's mice in HHGttG... maybe they are smarter pan-dimensional beings.

YES! IMMORTALITY HERE I COME! heh...I wonder if this will work in humans too. Just because it worked in mice dont mean itll work for us too. ;)
