Class Change?

I'm not exactly sure whether this has been asked or not (I looked back through the last few pages of this forum, but it could very well be hidden within the individual episode discussions) but since it looks like we're on the rat tail quest, will the beloved 8-bit gang be getting a class change soon? And if so... does anybody know what they'd look like?

Melfice 10-03-2005 01:54 PM

Well, it has been asked before, indeed.

But I'll leave the comic searching to other, more qualified, people. As they are better at searching the archives. Yes.

But be assured, the question about the class-change has been asked, and we have seen a, possible, spoiler as how they would look.

If they actually class-change is all up to Brian himself.

There'll be a class change. Proof.

There's actually a comic that showcases the upgrades, but I forget the number. Its the one where Sarda messes up the timestream in a culinary experiment gone arwy.

Everyone save Thief uses their FF3j counterparts. Theif the body of a FF3j Ninja with his head on top. A simplistic sprite creation done by yours truly...

Once you know it, it's not a hard number to remember, at least in our Western decimal system: 300!

Also, SWKC presumbably means the class change counterparts, as Fighter and Black Mage are using Knight (advanced Fighter in both games) and Advanced Black Mage (FF1: Black Wizard. FF3j: Warlock) sprites. Then again, there's only one Red Mage sprite, so, I dunno.

Not true. Actually, the FF3j Red Mage is different from the FF1 Red Mage. Flashier even... Of course, he's got a *REALLY* stupid looking head (and unfortuantly, I don't mean ha-ha stupid either).

I did give Brian an alternative, but time will only tell if he uses it. Anyway, the alternative(s) are the two sprites on the right (one with face scarf, the other without). The one in the middle is the actual FF3j Red Mage, and at the left is the FF1 Red Mage.

I meant only one in FF3j. Otherwise, there are three sprites, plus the different poses. Incidentally, I think the lower right one could use having the hair extended a bit forward. Still, nice sprites, especially the one top-right.

For those interested, the base sprites are here.

The Upgrade-showing-comic is here.

Why do I get the feeling that this "class change" is going to be like when you "graduate" from an internet course? The ones where you pay 20 bucks?

I.E., you change in nothing but name? Get a fancy sheet of papers saying "_______ Has class changed into ________"?
