Boo!

especially seeing as how halloween is coming up, i thought i would make this thread. has there ever been time where you have been scared out of your mind?? it doesnt have to be near halloween time. it could be about anything at any time. even a nightmare or something like that. basically, personal experiences.

as for me, ive had a few.

like this one time, i was in my friend's cousin's house. this house was freaking huge! it was like the size of a freaking mansion. anyway, it was just my brother, his friend, and me in this house by ourselves. (my friend's cousin gave him the house keys to play halo and stuff..) anyway, it was pitch black outside and it was thundering LIKE CRAZY! we went downstairs and watched a movie. it was one of those movies that had lots of guns and death and stuff so i was kinda jumpy and freaked out at the time. the scariest part about it was that seeing as how we were downstairs in the basement, we wouldnt be able to check the main front door. so, when we decide to not sleep in the mansion-like house, we go to the front door. it was UNLOCKED! when we step outside, we find out that my friend has accidently left the keys in the lock socket outside of the house! we are so fucking freaked out, we RUN to my friend's car and try to get in. all the while, it still is raining and thundering like crazy. then, knowing my idiot self (haha, red fighter idiot guy1073..) i go to open the right side of the car which had tons of the stuff that couldnt be moved. so, i had to go to the other side of the car and sit there. luckily, in the morning, we go to the mansion and find out that atleast nothing was stolen. we still dont know whether someone came in or not..

so, does anyone else have any scary personal experiences they wanna share??

I had a nightmare/hallucination. My biggest fear is insects(so manly) I hate anything with more than four legs So I just remember waking up and seeing bugs crawling everywhere, all over I was screaming so loud my mom came in and I knew it was somewhere in my waking visoin because I saw her come in as the bugs just sorta faded away, that happened twice in four months, last year.

I've got a little story or two to share, nothing spectacular though. I can get spooked pretty easily sometimes, heh.

Everyonce in a while I'll have this little phase where I'll go to paranormal sites and check out ghost photos and maybe an EVP or two. Of course, I usually end up doing this sometime in the evening, often after everyone else is fast asleep. Afterwards I'll be creeped out by the slightest noises and simple shadows. Whenever I'm done with my spooky interwebbing for the evening, I'll haul ass to my room. My room is at the end of the one hallway in our house; luckily that hallway has a lightswitch at both ends.

Then there was the time when I was about 14 and first saw "The Blaire Witch Project". At the time I lived in a house that was practically in the middle of a field with a creek that ran out behind it. The creek was nowhere near big enough to really be considered 'woods', but when I got home from the movie that night it was enough to make me run from the car to the house.

Nothing scares me more than PEOPLE, because people have the potential to be royally messed up. One night I was at a friend's house, and we were alone in the house watching a movie. "Final Destination" to be specific. Everything was just fine, when out of nowhere we heard something bang on the front door, like someone hit it or threw something at it. I got all freaked out because we were alone and I was worried there was some weirdo outside. Needless to say we stopped the movie and started to watch something a little more cheerful.

Last weekend, I got freaked out by noises coming from a large tree at the corner of my street. It was aroung 5 in the morning, I was failing at this strange concept called "sleep", and I had been watching horror movies all day the day before. My little sister's dog was whimpering, so I got up to take her outside. While I was waiting on the dog, I heard rustling noises coming from this big tree at the end of the street, about 3 houses down. I started squinting to try and see if somthing was down there, but I couldn't really tell because I didn't have my glasses on and it was still pretty dark. As soon as the dog finished her business, I brought her inside and sat in living room. I watched an hour long infommercial before I finally grew tired and convinced myself that there wasn't some psycho killer sneaking around the neighborhood.

I'm just a scaredy cat, plain and simple, heh.

I'm not used to the concept of being 'scared', but I can say that I'm highly paranoid. I've also got that fear of when your parent's don't keep their promises, I think something bad happened.

So when my parents went out one night to a small inter-family meeting, they forgot their mobile phone. Everytime they leave, I always have to ask them what time they'll be back.
That night they said they'll be back at 10pm, so I said ok, and they left.
They didn't come back until midnight, and by that time, my paranoia was hard at work getting me 'scared.'

Basically, I kept wishing they'd come back quickly, because if they didn't, my colorful imagination plays on my mind and I start thinking of stuff related to psychotic murderers, horrific car crashes, freak, isolated storms, and even at one point magic.

I couldn't ring my parents, and I was too scared to go outside, because I was CONVINCED that there were people out there to get me. It was at the point where I started thinking about demons and magic that my brain promptly prodded me with a mental equivalent of a sharp stick and said "Ok damn you, if you're going to work yourself to freaked tears by this, might as well divert your attention, so that if anything DOES happen, you'll know of it by morning."

Soo-ooo, I played Gunbound until they came back.

Our door was also very noisy, and it was a windy night, so it kept rattling - it was hollow wood, so it sounded creaky and whenever it banged against its frame the hollow inside the door amplified the sound. Very scared...

I have a few. Nothing supernatural, but stuff that was either weird or out of place.

GrrBear and I were driving home from a concert from a local high school. It wasn’t very far home, but as I remember it (I’m sure GrrBear remembers it differently), he said something along the lines of “I know a shortcut home.”

Of course, I follow his instructions. I can’t remember if I followed them to the letter, or if I messed up somewhere, but for the sake of making myself look good and GrrBear look bad, I’ll say I followed them to the letter :p. Anyways, after a little while of driving through a neighborhood, we come across a part that has a little tiny forest, so we have trees on both sides of us. At this point I’m seriously thinking “Great. Take the shortcut and get lost. It’s like a Scooby-Doo episode.”

We turn the corner…and my headlights illuminate a graveyard. Needless to say, at that point I was not a happy camper. But GrrBear got us back on the road we wanted…and which I drove past to do his little short cut.

The second involves late night at a hospital. A friend of my had hurt himself. So, me and two other friends went down to the hospital to keep him company. After an night of Bruce Lee and Dragon Ball Z movies, the nurses politely asked us to go home…after all, it was like 1 am.

So, anyways, as we’re walking out, we hear this BANG…..BANG….BANG….BANG sound, like someone was pounding against the wall or something really hard, and I know for a fact this sound wasn’t happening when we came in. One of my friends had mentioned that he had heard this sound last time he stayed late in the hospital. I know it was probably nothing, but when your walking through empty halls in an unfamiliar place, it kind of catches you off guard.

And I’m with the people who get their imaginations going with movies. After I saw Signs, you bet I watched my family’s little collection of corn like a hawk every time I let my dog out at night. It’s only like 8 corn stalks, but I would watch them with all the paranoia in the world, man. I am truly pathetic.

I just did a search of my own posts, and, though I keep mentioning it, I've never actually told the tale of when I rented the remake of the first Resident Evil for the Gamecube. The tale must be told, even though by now all detail is lost to me.

I forget whether _mike rented it or I rented it... no, it was _mike, as I told him to "get that thing out of the house." Yeah, that didn't bode well. Well, we start to play it. I go first and get munched by the first zombie. I was now freaked out. So, I give the controls over to _mike, who does a much better job. Perhaps it's because he wasn't ready to fling the controller away and run sobbing into the street. Anyway, _mike plays a little way into the game that day, gets the acid shells, and then screws up by picking up a gem he's not supposed to. Man, I'm glad they fixed that in RE4.

So, fast forward to 1:00 that night (this is back when I slept at 1:00). I'm sitting with a five iron in my hands, staring at the door and watching Jack the Ripper documentaries to calm down. We didn't play any more for the rest of the rental period, but I didn't sleep at all until we returned it three days later. I spent them in about the same way as the first, and I have no idea why Discovery had so many documentaries on Jack playing that week.

My scary moment happened in the middle of the day. It was a very sunny, happy go lucky day, in fact. How was it so scary then, you ask? Freakin' BEES. >.< Ugh. You can't comprehend how much fear I have of those little.... @#$@.

I was climbing on this very old log barn. Two stories with one room each, and no roof for the second story. I liked to lay down up there and stare into space, even though the floor boards were...less than sturdy. Anyways, on the way up I hear an odd crunch. I look down and see a large blackspot on my leg. Now, this sets off my "OMG run like heck" senses, which I always follow. Thank god. You see, that crunch? Yellow jacket nest. This nest was HUGE. We went back at night to kill them (they don't sting then, in case your wondering about sanity issues), and it filled that entire 2 meter log. Well, just over 2 meters. So many bees....eeehh.

They were in my clothes, in my hair, basically everywhere. I have to take off my shirt when I got in the house, to get them off of me, and I could barely move my arms from the pain. I end up in the hallway with bees on either side just...sitting there basking in my fear. Had to wait for my bro to get home and kill them all before I could move....and I found some more in my shirt and hair hours later. It was a very scary day.

---------------------------------------
And then there's the Doom thing. I was playing this game at a very young age, and I'm naturally inclined to be scared out of my mind (don't like scary movies, anything involving horror...that kinda thing), which is a bad combination. Anyways, you know those freaky...whitish...fire conjuring guys? I used to see them walking my halls at night. I'm about to fall asleep, and all of a sudden I "see" one walk past my doorway. That combined with the evil train wallpaper on the otherside = no sleep. Wide eyed awakey-ness instead.

I live walking distance from a Save-A-Lot so i'm frequently sent on errands with the food-stamp card so on one such errand, I was walking through Daffin Park back home and cross the street to the side with the houses, out of nowhere this crazy old guy comes out of his house with a rilfe, seeing as how I'm afraid of moving bullets(but not guns) I try to descreetly cross the street and escape, doesn't work he sees me and shouts "Hey boy! come over here!" needles to say I was gooooooone!

Let's see...

I'd have to say the dungeon in LoZ:OoT known as "The Bottom of the Well". With Adult Link, despite the fear of Redead, I can handle them. Hookshot+Rapid swordswiping, or the Sun's Song.

But Young Link? I was GLAD you could get the key item in the Well without fighting even one Redead. It's also why I've never finished Master Quest.

yeah, i got really scared of those too.. i sometimes turned off the music at night while i was playing because i was so freaked out.

also, i almost always have weird dreams. sometimes scary too. one of them concerning the LOZ redead.. anyway, i was playing AS link. anyway, one thing i found out was that even when i went to the start menu, they would still come SPRINTING after me. and they kept sucking the fucking life out of me..it freaked me out.

i would have to say that one of the worst nightmares i have ever had was this one about vampires. what happened was that there was this solid, unmoving bat that was locked in a box up in our closet. the whole legend was that it was a vampire and stuff like that. anyway, knowing my idiot dream self, i actually open the box out of curiosity and just find the boring still bat. so, i leave the box as it is, open.. so, then i later find out that the bat has turned into a vampire and is on the loose. then, a REALLY scary part was that at the end, my OWN BROTHER comes to tell me that the vampire was coming to get me next!

another scary dream i have had was that everything was all normal and stuff except for one thing. robots had taken over the world.. well, it was so scary because my mom was part of this rebel organization and robots kept coming at night to turn us into zombies! it really freaked me out.

i have also had some annoying dreams where i ended up getting tickled and actually felt the tickling. i hate those dreams the most.
