Do you have a dimensional anchor or something that protects the book from people/creatures that can travel directly next to your book through another plane/teleportation. Cause if not, it's easier pickings then you think.

Yes actually. One of the first quests I ever played Eff in his phylactrey (the glove version) was stolen via dimension door for use in a golem (Eff got it back). After that, he added some protection against dimensional thefts.

Would Va's sword Maelstorm work? it doesn't damage the physical side of things, but cuts straight to the spiritual world.

What is the basis for your sword again? I'd say it can kill hollows, just not easily.
