It's been done four times and it only gets better.

My guess is the young fellow here is refering to something more in the comercial level. There have been talks about it too, though. Whether or not they are going to be made, I have no clue. Should just wait for the man himself to pop out and tell us.

As for the flash movies, those have been here since some time ago (I actually saw the flash before the actual comic), and they are great. Meddros is now speaking of the fifth chapter. Let's hope it gets out soon.

I think brian should do an animated series, but 8 bit is out, due to copyrights with SE. I belive he was told he could not sell his webcomic as a comic book or such, but I am not sure.

Quoting from memory, "Square and me have a sort of understanding, but it doesn't extend to me raffling merchandise with their characters".

Maybe Nuklear age would be better to base it on? :)

or Brian could always barter with S-E. I mean, the series would have potential, would get more people interested in Final Fantasy and S-E in general, and may actually produce some merchandise.

Brian could become an official member of S-E's animation department, and head the FF 8-Bit Theater line.

That would mean he'd have to give up his own creative freedom in order to accomodate the sensibilities of SquareEnix and their need/want to make consumers want their product. In other words, a lot of the parodying and making fun of final fantasy that happens now probably wouldn't be allowed if he went commercial with it.

Besides, I think he mentioned all that before and that he'd rather not deal with a company looking over his shoulder when he's trying to create humor.

Were there an animated series, I doubt Brian himself would be the one doing it. He'd be the director, sure, but the actual films would prolly be made by someone else, given how busy he is (Comic, Atomik Age, etc.).

But the major obstacle, Squeenix, still remains. It might be possible to buy liscencing rights or something, but it'd prolly be too expensive to be worth it.

A few name changes, and different artwork, and SE can't do anything about the show. Assuming Brian chooses to do that.

Amake 10-15-2005 12:11 PM

But, the names are the characters. They're antropomorphic personifications of their classes. One of the defining moments of the comic is when Thief says "Because I'm Thief". How would that work?
