Hmmm. I'd be willing to play two characters... just one question first. What are we looking at for maximum power on PC's? (in terms of level)

IHateMakingNames 10-19-2005 04:10 PM

Taryth is open for killing some Lich King.

Incendius 10-19-2005 07:16 PM

I've been thinking, instead of tacking on a positive descriptor to spritual energy why not just say its Incarnum? It makes perfect sense, incarnum manifests itself as a blue light, incarnum is the power of the soul, and inarnum can be used in many ways that magic cannot that would explain many of the hollows abilities. It fits perfectly

Aerozord 10-19-2005 07:44 PM

isn't someone a human? Couldn't that person learn the art of the Quincy?

Inbred Chocobo 10-19-2005 07:47 PM

Well... um.... someone isn't a quincy just yet. Besides, if someone is suppose to get it, there has got to be a good reason which someone hasn't thought of yet.

Aerozord 10-19-2005 08:05 PM

well I imagine any spiritual abilities would be welcomed by a human.

Though doesn't have to be a quincy, humans can manifest their powers in many ways. Too many to name

The Mighty Penguinhead 10-19-2005 10:52 PM

.... Pyros, you're brilliant.
I hereby second the Incarnum idea.

Arhra 10-20-2005 06:43 AM

Sorry in advance for this outburst, but well, I'll get on to my reasoning out a little later.

What the hell is up with that post Aerozord?!!

The difficulties in entering a lich's lair aside (any powerful magic user worth his salt is generally protected against extradimensional intrusions in his lair), that lich goes down far too easy. They are paranoid evil bastards who typically have their phylactery sealed away in a location difficult to get to and exceedingly well protected (especially against detection). A typical lich faced with a intruder powerful enough to bypass the defenses on their lair would greet them with a volley of spells of rather frightening potency. Nigh immortal magic users tend to become quite powerful. On a side note, destroying a lich's phylactery does not immobilise them, it simply returns their soul to their body. I'm fairly certain this transfer is instantaneous.

Personally, I'm not familiar with Incarnum, but I'm fine with the spiritual powers of hollows being a type of magic.

Darshendros 10-20-2005 08:18 AM

Yea, I second that. That was... wow. You could've at least made it a little exciting. Might as well have been fighting a skeletal mage. o_O; Even recently turned liches aren't that easy to defeat, ever.

Aerozord 10-20-2005 09:25 AM

ok I will level with you, I was killing time, nothing more. I haven't posted in awhile and I need something to do while I wait for an opening to the story. Oh and Lich's are easy to kill when you know where their soul is being kept and have the power to crush mountains. Getting in there was harder then I made it appear. By combining several dark arts I was able to get in.

However if you want I can redo it and make it a nice long battle.
