Soldiers of Light 2 "The End of Times" sign-up (new RPers welcome)
For those who are new, the first Soldiers of Light was based around the exploits of a samurai wielding the legendary katana "Raigaki" and his group of fighters with strange abilities. Their goal was to destroy Talkatz, the King of Demons, with the sword. However, another group was in their way, and hijinks ensued.
Now, this story takes place two years after Talkatz's death. The world is starting to get back on its feet. Cities have been rebuilt, relationships have been fixed, and technology is starting a new growth. Demon sightings have become more scarce, and there are high hopes that without their king, the demons would disappear altoghether. However, not everything is completely fine. Priestesses are claiming that it is starting to become harder to commune with the Kami, thus making it difficult to cast magic. Monks are in disarray because of the breaking of ancient barriers that held in secret evils. And strange humans are being found in the wilderness. These wild humans are violent and dangerous, and continously claim to have abilities that they don't really have. Recently Kurama, the samurai that had wielded the Raigaki against Talkatz, met with Takin, his close friend and slightly eccentric technician. Takin and some other researchers had been studying the events recently, and their findings are not good. The world they live in, the very universe even, exists through one sacred fact. Balance. Everything must be in balance with their opposite. Black and white, day and night, yin and yang. Positive and negative magic. With Talkatz's death, much negative magic was lost in this world, which left an uneven balance in positive's favor. After such a grand impact on the negative side, the only solution is to reduce both sides to zero. As such, the world is slowly being drained of magic. These effects were apparent through the inability to speak with Kami and breaking of ancient spells. However, another effect has been noticed. The wild humans found in the wastelands hadn't always been humans. They had been demons. Without enough magic to sustain their demonic powers, they changed into humans, which needed no magic to survive. Now Kurama takes up his Raigaki once more in a quest to, once again, save the world as they knew it. However, he won't do it alone. And that's where YOU GUYS come in. The profile is pretty basic, but with some extra twists. They'll be explained to the new people below the profile: Name: (Obvious) Gender: (Male or female) Alignment: (Good or Evil. Explained below) Race: (Human/Half-Demon/Demon. Explained below) Abilities: (You get two. Explained below.) Appearance: (What you look like.) Weapons: (What you normally have on you. If any are enchanted, give a description) Bio: (A little somethin'-somethin' about your character. For those transferring characters from the old RP to this one, this is where you put what they've been doing for the two year break.) Alignment- This is what side of the game you're on. Team Good is with Kurama, trying to restore order and balance to the world. If you're on Team Evil, you're with the other RPers that have their own agenda for things. I'll usually leave those on Team Evil to their own devices. Race- This is whether you're a human, a half-demon, or a full demon. If you're a full/half demon, put down what kind of demon it is. (Fire demon, water demon, cat demon, etc.) Also, your alignment doesn't affect your race. A human can be on the evil side, a demon can be on the good side, and so on. Abilities- These are special abilities that your character can do. They can be ALMOST anything you want. However, they must tie together (For example, if one of your abilities is to create earthquakes, then you aren't going to be throwing fire at shit. However, if you can create earthquakes, and have your second ability allowing you to lift boulders up from the ground, then you're good.) Also, if you're ANY part demon, your abilities HAVE to correspond with your demonic personification. If you're a water demon, you're only going to have water abilities, and so on and so forth. Also, I recommend reading the Pre-Sequel thread for other info in this RP, like what decides which demons turn into humans, what's happening to the stronger demons, who the Traditionalists and Revolutionists are, blah blah blah. I'll post my profile later once I decide on a few things. |
Kuruma doesn't have the fully powered Raigaki does he? The one that lets him unleash non-stop demon devastation in septuplicate while engrossed in a holy aura that would make Light Jak lose his entire reserve of bodily fluids? Or is that diminished by the lack of magic?
Also, if I bring Grim back, would the consumption of demon souls stave off the 'feelings' he would start to feel? I'm thinking that he stumbles upon the anti-emotinal effect and then falls into a dependance to maintain his psyche. Reaper will probably remain unchanged. |

Name: Sanaka Uchimura Gender: Female Alignment: Team Evil Species: Half-Demon (Spider Demon) Abilities Surface Crawler - Sanaka can cling to and move along surfaces using her elite ninja training. However, slippery or really flat surfaces without things to grip on to will prove impossible to crawl across. This skill also helps in allowing her to run on walls longer than one would expect. Great Leap - In the prone spider position, Sanaka can make a powerful leap to reach areas she normally couldn't. Rarely does she resort to this as she can usually run up a wall or along one and then perform a normal leap from there. Appearance Age: 19 Race: Caucasian Height: 5' 5" Weight: 104 Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Red Skin Tone: Regular Markings: A tattoo of a spider on her right hand. Clothing: Black ninja attire composed of durable and comfortable cloth. Weapons: Spider Fangs - Two wrist-mounted claw weapons with the ability to envenom the victim. Bio: Sanaka is a ninja master and the captain of a division of Tsubasa's kunoichi forces. She's fanatically determined to kill Yuna the fallen angel that tried to conquer the demon realm and has volunteered to seek out Yuna for Team Kimono so that they can gain revenge for the deaths of Lady Shizuka the Red Kimono and Lord Kyne. NPCs White Kimono (Tsubasa Hirasaka) was the spearhead for the operation to destroy Talkatz. When that plan failed and her master was slain by Yuna, Tsubasa took full control of the Kimonos and formed an alliance with Team Good just before the final battle. Now she is a traveling warrior, honing her skills for the battles ahead. It is her most talented kunoichi soldier, Sanaka, who is leading the hunt for Yuna. Black Kimono (Chizuru Suzuki) is even more nomadic that Tsubasa, always working to keep in touch with the other girls. She believes that the one time when they will be called to fight again will be very soon. Everyone wonders when Chizuru will decide to follow her former dream of raising a family will kick in. Green Kimono (Kirie) and Chiyo now run an orphanage and take care of roughly a dozen younger children. Being well educated herself, Kirie is something of a teacher, and Chiyo is becoming a good cook. Violet Kimono (Rio Ikage) and Blue Kimono (Kiyomi Matsuraba) have rekindled their love for each other and when they're not training together or supporting their own lives, they're engaging in sinful acts. Well...good for them. Brown Kimono (Takano Fugisawa) has become a merchant, selling her incredible handcrafted dolls wherever her travels take her. To her future benefit, she hasn't sold her marionette soldiers, but instead keeps them in a cellar below Kirie's orphanage. Yellow Kimono (Mika Mutsumi) has been working with many of the Kimono forces in the still hidden facilities where Yuna planned her invasion. She's been putting her mind and her staff to delving into the depths of Yuna's abandoned technology. Sanctuary Priestess Hinako who was never introduced in the first series runs Sanctuary, a place where the Kimonos can flee to in case of serious trouble, like the one time that Yuna murdered Kyne and Shizuka and sent Arachnarok to slaughter the rest. She hasn't changed a bit, and still runs Sanctuary, knowing that one day, it will be used as a base of operations for the Kimonos again. Fallen Wing (Yuna) got off pretty easy. Considering the chaos of the final great battle, she could have been killed, and at least she got away with some of her forces, the homunculus soldiers. Yuna had fled to a very cold region of the demon world, where she has made plans for another shot at the throne. She's modified her plans. Not only humans, but everything...every single lifeform, will die before her rage is sated. |
Name: Kiro
Gender: Male Alignment: Evil Race: Human Abilities: Echo Blade - A weapon of great magic power, it has devastating abilities. Echo strike - A passive ability of the blade. When held still, the blade appears to vibrate violently, when swung, afterimages of the bladde follow the original one, yet their course is slightly different. These afterimages are just as strong os the original one. There are 6 afterimages. Echo warp - A new technique Kiro unleashed in the fight with Talkatz, it involves a second of focus. He leaves an image of himself in his spot, and immediatly warps to a point 10 meters around him. Everytime he does this, he feels a little nausicous. The first couple of times he has learned to ignore, but the 5th time he starts getting really sick and starts becoming a terrible fighter. Echo Lash - A technique in which the blade's strike ability is applied to the user himself. This allows him to strike in 6 different locations at once, while keeping the 6 afterimages of the blade. Using this technique makes it hard to stand afterwards. Appearance: Kiro has long since ditched his armor, since magic is leaving this world its enchantment has long been lost. he has realized just how fast he can be without armor nowadays, and depends on now both his speed and strength rather than just strength in a fight. Weapons: The Echo Blade. (See abilities) Bio: Kiro has started a quest in gathering rare artifacts. After all the magic that he has held into his hand, you could say he is starting to become addicted to it. With the loss of magic, he has been also now searching for ways to restore it, so he wouldn't lose his magic items. |

Name: Duo
Gender: Male Alignment: For the most part, Evil. Race: Trickster Demon Abilities: This area is the reason I didn't include Duo in the last RP. This time, I'm just listing everything old Duo had, Raiden can pick and choose. Teleporting: Short ranged is easy, long ranged is harder. Short range is instant with no signs of it happening, long range creates a two-way door. Illusion: Disguises himself. Appearance: Age: Old, but looks 24 Height: 5' 10" Weight: 140 Hair: Light brown/orange and short Eye Color: Light brown Skin Tone: Light Markings: Two fox ears, six fox tails. Clothing: What Inuyasha wears, but a dark orange color. Weapons: No weapons, but has a bag of various harmless items that are used to annoy people. Bio: After Talkatz's original defeat at the hands of Tama, Duo lived in the Demon Zone. With him was Tama's girlfriend, Saila, who Duo had turned into a demon. The small child Duo had possessed, Chuu, when he lost his body, who had also been turned into a demon. And Duo's dog, Cerberus, who had been turned into a giant three-headed demon dog. The Demon Zone is probably the most ancient magical creation ever. It's basically a Demon's paradise, and Duobles as demon heaven. Before Talkatz's original defeat, it was always a rumor. After his defeat, all knowledge of it's existance seemed to vanish. Once Talkatz was truely defeated by Kurama and magic began to disappear, the demon zone disappeared. Since ancient magic took the heaviest blows, and the Demon Zone was the most ancient, it simply vanished. What happened to the demon's living there depending on how they got there. The dead demons were sent to where ever humans go when they die. The demons who never died and had simply gone to the Demon Zone, like Duo, were sent back to the human world. After learning about Talkatz's defeat and the decline of magic, Duo began to worry. Not only would Saila, Chuu, and Cerberus turn back to humans, and a dog, but Duo would simply disappear. His current body was not naturally made, but a collection of mixed magical items, so it will eventually disappear. If the decline didn't stop, Duo would have to transfer his soul to Chuu again and take over his body. However, being a trickster, Duo finds it hard to resist his natural urges to play tricks on puny mortals. Of course, due to the rise of emotions in demons, Duo |
Name: Melsis
Gender: Female Alignment: Good, though not with the actual group Race: Half shadow demon Abilities: Standard Illusion: Melsis has the ability to mass generate illusions that can simulate sight sound, and to some degree touch and smell. Complete IllusionA stronger form of illusion this completely hijacks a persons senses affecting sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste with frightening efficiency. This ability drains energy fast, the more people the faster Melsis is drained. Appearance: With the illusion on*(explained below) Melsis is an enchantingly beautiful black haired black eyed girl that seems to be the age of 13. She has lush pinkish skin and an elegant thin frame. She stands at 5'3''. She has no flaws in her form or movement. Even for her young age she moves gracefully and seductively. Without the illusion Melsis is ugly, very ugly. She has completely black scaled skin. Her hands have sharp claws and from her mouth protrudes sharp fangs. On her back is a pair of small wings that at most grant her the ability to glide. Her face is distorted and skewed too angular and bony to ever look remotely beautifal even without her other horrible aspects. She is ever hunched over with small spikes running down her spine. A large scar runs down from her right shoulder to her left thigh. Weapons: Her weapons are her claws and fangs. She uses her illusions to fool her enemies so she can get close. In strait combat she is nearly useless as she is very weak, stronger then a normal human but not by much. Bio: Melsis is the daughter of a shadow demon female and a human male. The shadow demon female did not love the man, it was simply a trick an amusement. She had used her illusions to seduct him. However something unexpected came up, she had become pregnant with Melsis. Melsis was not a lucky half demon, she was not born beautifal as some but instead she was born ugly looking more like a demon then her mother had. When she was born her mother did not abandon her, despite her evil being she still took care of Melsis for a while. It was grudgingly and badle but she did it for a reason Melsis does not know till today. Soon after Melsis had turned 17, which in her age length would equate to three in a human, and was starting to manifest her illusionary powers slightly her mother had become purified by a human monk. Fearing for her life as the monk approached her completely intending to destroy this next demon she first manifested her strongest power, the complete illusion. She held the monk in her complete thrawl to her fascination. Instead of killing him like many others in her situation would have done, she sent him away as far as she could. She was still a child in body and in mind so the she did not stumble onto the total realization of what had happened. As soon as the monk had been tricked out of reach Melsis collapsed and blacked out. Another demon found her, this one was a rock demon, as strange as it sounds that one would take care of a half shadow demon. The demon treated her and then took care of her when she was better. The demon never revealed its name or gender in the twenty years that it took care of Melsis. It rarely if ever spoke, but Melsis did not care. She was glad that anyone was there to care for her. During this time she strengthened her abilities and worked on her illusions. Near the end of her stay with the rock demon she had almost completed her control over her illusions and was already starting to test her limits. She was still young but she had a brillaint mind. The rock demon had finally started to open up, it had not told her its name or much about it but it was talking much more then it had before. She looked upon the rock demon as a father figure and respected and revered him as she had never done her mother. Then the rock demon was killed, this time by a water demon that seeked to usurpt its territory. This time fully realizing what happened, even though by her age standards she was not even seven Melsis took her vengeance. She completely illusioned the water demon and killed it quickly and efficiently. When it was over she fell to her knees and cried for three days not eating, drinking, or sleeping. Killing was a terrible experience for her and she vowed never to do it again. When she tried going out of the forests and mountains and into the human territory she was viciously repelled and hunted, she barely understood why. Through all the hunts for her she never killed one, she always sent the humans away. Only until one human was kind and wise enough to see that Melsis was merely a frightened child. That human female explained to her many things, and Melsis depsite her age in terms of mind understood. Then they were found by a group of hunters, the human female was slain on the spot and Melsis was slashed across the back forcing her to black out. When she awake Melsis found that she was imprisioned in a net and not killed, for some reasons know only to her capturerers. Using her illusions she made one of the men free her and she escaped into the night then collapsed unconscious from her wound. Waking up some time later as the morning struck Melsis was determined not to let anyone ever get close to her again and see her true form, it always ended in them being killed sooner or later. To that effect she wove a powerful illusion around herself that she has been maintaining and strengthening for many years. She also secluded herself only ever near small human settlements if any at all. When Talkatz was defeated Melsis was at her equivelent of the age of 13 and was trying to live a life on a mountain in japan only rarely happenstanced on by humans from a nearby village. They knew she was strange, some even thought she was a youkai for living alone on the mountain at such a strange age. Then her illusion started to break erraticly sometimes staying and sometimes fading, the villagers that came up into the mountains saw her terrible form on one of the times when it faded. They organized a party to capture and kill her. She escaped and for two years has been searching for a way to maintain her illusion so she, and anyone else she gets close to never gets hurt again. She will do almost anythign to get her powers back, short of killing. She never has and never hopes to kill but she has no qualms about hurting someone. If required she will weave an illusion of her killing the person making it real by hurting them slightly then rushing them away when she can. So good bad? Powers to strong or too weak? What are your opinions? |
Name: Suzume Tsurihime
Gender: Male Alignment: Good Race: Human Abilities: Absorbing demon souls, then destroying them and shooting out the energy from that destruction in a pretty powerful shot. Stacking more souls onto one shot makes it more powerful as more are added. A neat little trick Suzume likes to do is to throw the blast into the ground, effectively destroying everything around him (he has to put a shield up, but it kills things around him quite effectively) Secondary ability is that Suzume can take the energy from the souls and turn them into shields. As with the energy blasts, adding more makes a more powerful shield. While it only covers his front, the thing is nigh impenetrable with the right number of souls. Appearance: About 5’9” with shoulder-length black hair tied into a pony tail and brown eyes, and has several scars on his face that came with his imprisonment. He wears fairly normal clothes (pants and a shirt) that are a rather dull shade of blue from all of the traveling and fighting he’s done, and has a pair of sandals on his feet. Despite the fact that he can summon his own weapons, he keeps two katanas horizontally across his lower back for easy reach. Weapons: Ogre Gauntlets- Yes, the things from Onimusha, if you’re wondering. There are a few differences, though. The souls absorbed are transferred to Suzume’s body instead of sealed (he was like a natural sponge for demon souls before he got the gauntlets), and then shot out of the gauntlets when needed. He also couldn’t use magic with the weapons that he could summon with the gauntlets, because his ability pretty much was what the gauntlets focused on. Other than that, the two katanas mention earlier in his appearance. They’re blessed in a temple to hurt demons more, but are pretty much normal otherwise. Bio: Suzume spent several months recovering after the final battle, with nothing to do but dream of a place he once called home. He didn’t know why, but he was beginning to feel like he just wanted to give up on his vow and head home. Something kept him from doing that, however, and he went back to demon hunting after his arm had gotten better. It didn’t take long for Suzume’s reputation as a hunter to spread. Only a month after he’d started hunting, he’d gotten several requests for his help in a hunt. He’d always request that he work alone, preferring to keep his actions to himself. What people didn’t see were the ruthless attacks he would make on groups of demons. He began to get more and more violent as time went on, and soon a year had passed since he’d restarted his career. At this point, he was getting to the point of being sadistic, leaving absolutely no trace of demons anywhere, and even going after groups in any spare time he had. About half a year before this new adventure started, a group of demons sneak attacked Suzume, and sealed him away deep inside a fortress that had been used while there was order in demon society. The room they put Suzume in was made of a special material that cancelled out the energy created in Suzume’s attacks, with chains made of the same material. The group that captured him had said it was for the safety of demons, but Suzume couldn’t care less what they said at that point. He tried in vain many times, but couldn’t escape. All he could really do was sit and dwell on any thought that would come to his head while waiting for what little food he was given. It was during this time that the demon hunter realized he’d been becoming more and more like an animal as he hunted. He was beginning to get scared of himself, of the way he acted when he was fighting demons. And the thing he hated the most was the look on his face when he absorbed souls. It was like he was becoming addicted to absorbing them, like some sort of drug. After that point, Suzume just gave up. He would accept any false treatment thinking it would be for the best, so he wouldn’t turn into that thing again. If anything, he was beginning to think he should have died in that fight two years ago. Raiden, if you feel like busting Suzume out of his prison feels like a priority, I'll talk with you about what should go on. Other than that, it's the same as what I explained in the Pre-Sequal thread. |
Name: Drak
Gender: Male Alignment: Good Race: Human Abilities: Physical Imitation- Drak can imitate any physical action he ever sees performed just as well as the original. He gains skills by seeing them performed. These are not only combat related. He's a mean cook. Power imitation- Drak can copy your powers. it's harder for him to use them, and he's not as good, but he can copy any magic use. Appearance: Kinda' like Hamlet actually. He wears a lot of black. He also has a goatee now, and his hair is grown out. There's a blindfold over his eyes. He wears black leggings, a black plate-mail breast-plate, black boots, a white undershirt, and a long black coat over that. The Wyvern Blade is perfectly vertical on his back, and right in the middle. As well as this, he has a dirk that lies perpendicular to the Wyvern Blade, and it's more towards the right. Weapons: Wyvern Blade- His family's heirloom sword. It's unbreakable. Dirk- A simple Dirk, used mostly for various underhanded tactics. But, really, anything can be turned into a weapon if Drak gets ahold of it. Bio: I really don't feel like writing this right now. Footnotes: Left kingdom, not wanting throne. Wanted to learn. Went around the world. Hooked up with Kurama. Swore an oath. Kingdom got smushed. He got sword. He got mad. Beat Kiro down. Threatened Kurama. Him and Kurama now kinda' hate each other. He wants to stop learning. General do-gooder. |
I'm just waiting for the small tension there is between Kurama and Drak to explode. Now THAT will be an argument. And Drak, just so we're clear, those pistols you have are going to be some old-fashioned flint-lock pistols. We aren't going to be seeing many six-shooters walking around. But, if you talk real nicely to Takin, he might hook you up with a gun that you don't need to fill with powder constantly.
IHMN- We'll combine the two teleportations into one ability, as long as the long-distance teleportations pretty much drain you the point to near unconsciousness, just so we keep it in check. Otherwise, normal transportation will be easy. So you have teleportation, and your demon footwork, since trickster demons tend to flee a lot. HOWEVER, since you never really used it for anything but mocking others anyway, you MAY have the ability to use illusions to change your look. You cannot change your size, but you can look different. So if you want to piss someone off, you can turn yourself into a smaller version of them and mimic what they said. Just some things to think about. Prismatic- No, Kurama will not have all the Raigaki's powers. Because it was pure positive magic, it began to lose some of its abilities when the magic waned. He'll just have three moves. Name: Kurama Genkai Gender: Male Alignment: Good Race: Human Abilities: (Kurama can only use his abilities when wielding the Raigaki. Without it, he cannot use these powers.) Kama- Launches a blade of light from the Raigaki. Simpo- A huge blast of energy erupts from the sword. (Think Windscar from Inuyasha. And no, I did not copy them. In fact, I made this up way back before Inuyasha even came out, so if anything, THEY copied ME.) Ginton- Kurama can project a powerful barrier in front of his body. Appearance: Has long black hair that's tied back in a ponytail, and blue eyes, which is strange for those in his country. He wears the normal bushido outfit without the armor, except for two forearm vambraces. Two swords hang from his left hip. One sword is in an extravagently carved sheath, and the blade glows constantly. The other is more normal, but still a strong sword. His left arm seems normal, but if anyone looked closely, they could tell that it was strange. The skin color was a bit off, and it's actions seemed a bit more jerky than the other arm. In actuality, this arm is robotic, built by the mechanic Takin after he had lost his arm in a fight against Yaburu. Weapons: The Raigaki- The Blade of Purity. It's a sword so pure, a demon can not even touch it without burning. The blade constantly glows with a bright light, and it has three shining symbols etched right on the blade. The Fallen King- The Blade of Taint. This sword is special, since it was made with what remained of Talkatz. Before Kurama left the room that he had slain the Demon King in, he took the horns off of the demon corpse, and later had them forged into a blade. The blade looks normal except for some strange cracks in the metal that seem to give off a red light. Not as powerful as the Raigaki, and not capable of its own abilities, but it's a strong sword and a constant reminder to Kurama of what a human is capable of doing. Bio: His ancient ancestor, Tama Genkai, forged the Raigaki with the help of a demon swordsmith. Tama had tried to slay Talkatz with the sword, but Talkatz separated his soul from his body before Tama could cut him down. Tama hid his sword away until Talkatz returned, and a member of the Genkai bloodline could take up his mission. Kurama was the one to take the sword, and he finished the job. Since the last battle, he has had nothing but a constant worried life. He had been asked political advice by many high-ranking shoguns who didn't seem to care that Kurama had no head for the runnings of the social hierarchy. Nearly every samurai wished to train with hiim, and nearly every assassin wanted to become famous by killing him. What he really wished for, though, was another adventure. He had spent nearly his entire life training to kill Talkatz. Now that he had done it, there was really nothing left for him to do. Until Takin arrived one day with some bad news... |
