Koyuki stepped forward beside Kurama, sword readied to engage anyone hostile coming through the cracking wall.

"Sounds mechanical, but I take it they're not friends of yours?"

The crevice grew wider and the impacted rock was ground into pieces. Finally, one could see through. Whatever was on the other side of the crack from Kurama and Koyuki shifted somewhat. The mecha pilot peered inside.
"Well, you sure can't beat this for convenience."
-----
Blue Kimono (Kiyomi Matsuraba)
"Hunh? Beat what for convenience?" Kiyomi asked.
The pilot backed the mecha away and looked over her shoulder to the other girls. "My lady, the one called Kurama that we were going to use the prisoner to find is right on the other side of this barrier."
Kiyomi brought her machine forward. "Well...that's bizarre. Move aside. I need to talk to him."
The pilot steered her mecha away and Kiyomi moved in. "Hey, wielder of Raigaki," she called into the prison. "You need us to bust through for you, or do you have your own way of getting out?"

White Kimono (Tsubasa Hirasaka)
Mika returned to Tsubasa's room in the facility to find her bed empty. A quick glance revealed her looking at a mirror. "Mika?"
"Yes, Tsubasa?"
"I don't suppose you know what happened to my hair? Or my eyes?"
Mika smiled. Tsubasa was bound to find out anyways. "Remember when you got your hair bleached white by magic and your eyes turned red from the ritual which made you into a half demon?"
"Yeah. I dyed my hair so my brother wouldn't recognize me if I happened to meet his spirit here."
"Well, something's wrong with the magic of this world. I think it's happening in the human world as well. Kirie and Takano are confirming this for us. Basically, the weak magic that kept your hair white is gone, so your hair is back to the shiny black that it was when you were human. As for your eyes, we're all losing our half-demonic aspects, as well as the powers we gained. Normally, you'd look good as new tomorrow, but my magic is fading so it's taking longer to heal you."
Understanding slowly dawned on Tsubasa's face. "When did this start happening?" she asked the young girl.
"We're not entirely sure. My personal guess is that the death of Talkatz triggered this...degeneration of magic."
"I bet that's what Lady Velna wants to talk to me about."
Mika nodded. "Exactly. The magic degeneration is causing quite a stir. An even bigger stir than the death of Talkatz if you can believe it. Since we're hiding out for the most part, I don't think we'll wrap our fingers around anything solid for the moment. I think talking to this Velna will get us some focus. Maybe she might know how to counteract the degeneration."
Tsubasa struggled with an opinion. "Do we want to restore magic to the world?"
Mika shrugged. "We'll want more information before we decide which stance to take, or if we should choose to take one at all. Once you're fully healed, you should go have a talk with this Velna demon. I think it will give us a better viewpoint."

The battle had ended, it seemed. Raze started to push his kart into the battleground, but just as he did so, a rumbling filled the room and a wall crumbled. Kurama and a new half demon woman were peering through the new "door" that had been made, and apparently someone called out to Kurama from the other side.

Raze pushed the kart to the side. "...Sorry, I had my own business to attend to... Did I miss anything important?.."

Joukei took a moment to glare at Raze (Where were you this entire time?!), before stepping into the view of the mysterious voices. He couldn't see to well because the light was in his eyes, but they should be able to tell that Joukei wasn't being very patient in the moment. Then again, who could blame him? Moments before he could finally get out of this place, and then everybody decides it would be a nice time to sit around and talk. "Whoever you are, just finish this damn door you're making already! It's cold, it's dark, and since quite a number of things have died here just now the smell can only get worse!"

Astral Harmony 11-02-2005 06:58 PM

Blue Kimono (Kiyomi Matsuraba)
"Who in the hell?" Kiyomi began. Then she turned to face the girl who was hitting the rock recently. "Okay, finish up."
Kiyomi's mecha pulled back and the grunt got back into position. "Stand clear. I'm going to make a hole in the barricade big enough for you to escape through."
At this, the mecha pilot wielded the spiked mace arm once again, bringing it down on the weakening stone. After several more powerful, loud strikes, the large boulder broke down and formed an exit big enough for anybody but the largest prison guardians to get through.
"Let's move it, all of you. You can easily get through now."

Truce 11-02-2005 07:30 PM

"Finally!" exclaimed Joukei, who immediately dashed out into the sunlight, where relatively fresh air greeted him. Then, after a moment of uncharacteristic celebration, Joukei thanked the newcomers, before realizing that one of them was inside a rather oversized piece of armor.

"...that reminds me, who are you people?"

Darth SS 11-02-2005 09:17 PM

Drak stepped through, and "looked" at the mech.

"They are the kimonos. I'm not sure on the specifics, but I have this distinct memory of them trying to kill us."

PyrosNine 11-02-2005 09:50 PM

Raze pushed his kart forward and into the newly made door. "...Thank you, and excuse me. These are needed elsewhere and must get there quickly..."

He pushed it past the strange device after quickly sizing it up to see whether it could be of use in his own quest. Sadly, it was none of the Magitechnology he had heard of once. Perhaps he'd take up that search for Atlantis after he returned to the shrine.

Suzume walked out of the hole in the wall without a hint of caring whether he was surrounded by mechs or not. It was the fresh air, it was doing something to him. The feeling of breathing it in after six months... It was so refreshing.

Demons, pain, fatigue, friends, enemies - none of it mattered. He was free, and the relief he was feeling was unbearably strong. He was so happy inside, he even showed it on the outside.

"...Thanks, Kurama," he let out reluctantly. "I almost gave up hope in that hole."

Through all this, Suzume's body just felt like collapsing. He hadn't fully recovered from being chained to a wall, and it was starting to show through after that fight he'd had. In fact, his movements were very shaky when one actually looked at him. Just another sign of the intense fatigue he'd been going through.

Raiden 11-02-2005 11:06 PM

Kurama crawled through the hole made by the mech, and looked around. Takin was no where to be found. The inventor must have taken the airship to the sky to keep it safe from any ground threats. Only after he breathed in some fresh air did he realize exactly what had gotten them out.

"A kimono mech. Haven't seen one of these since the last battle. I'm finding it a little convenient that today of all days, I'm seeing old enemies that I assumed had died."
