Kill the Goth, its what he wants!
Ah a play on Goths! Hilarious.....really.
Its not that I don't like goths, I do, they are my friends....but the Goth attitude (as summed up and tied into LARP in the comic) is well.....funny. What do you think of this development, Folks? Alueron? |
My reaction to my Vampire players duh

GOTHDOKKEN! |
It's about time the prototype goth was introduced into the mix. It's pretty much one of the last major stereotypes that hasn't been tapped!
And of course I could start a huge debate over the validity of said stereotypes regarding the general beliefs of the goth community.... but who cares? I'm here for the funny! |
Hey Brian, was that line inspired by Bill Cosby stand-up?
(For those who don't know, during one bit of his "Himself" show, he's talking about one time when he got home and his wife said to kill the boy. While talking he goes "She's always wanted to kill you. It's what she's always wanted" or something along those lines. It's on both CD and video, check it out. It's even funnyer then 8-bit :) ) |
Ah, Angst. That word will be forever synonymous with Goth...

Have ye forgotten thy Cosby show? It is an unforgivable act, not to be made up for in any form. If thou argues, begone I sayeth! Sky Warrior Bob - Yes, I missed my true calling as a complete & utter moron. What of it? |
Personally I'm sick of people making fun of Goths =/. I don't like the bandwagon jumpers that give them a bad name. Nobody I know thinks they're a vampire or shit like that, they just like pale skin and dark clothes.
Some of my best friends are Goths, I'm not really but I have little bit of it and I love gothic type art, and have quite an attraction to what you'd probably call "Goth Chicks". I hate it, it makes me feel stereotypical when I right poetry, even though I'm anything but. Not all of it is depressing, and very little of it is about Death, but because some of it is that makes me feel a stereotype =/ I would also say I don't like the label of "Goth" but I know that only makes things more stereotypical. It's kind of funny people when make things like that stereotypical, just so the person they're making fun of can't speak out against it without being more so stereotypcial. But real Goths are rarely ever alike, even in music taste, they just generally wear black and get called a goth. I'm not going to be a hardass like that guy with King Steve/George Bush problem, because I know Brian's only trying to make us laugh. But I'm not so sure about everyone on the board. |
It took place before the Cosby Show there Bob.

If you don't like stereotypes, and don't strive to be in one, then don't take offense. By taking offense to jokes or puns made at the misfortune of that stereotype you are basically painting a huge red and black banner that says "Im a goth, stereotype me, now!"...what Im saying is this. If you don't like the stereotype, then don't associate with it, be yourself. I've found being yourself allows you to not only dress and act the way you want, but it comes with out the damned label stereotypes. Kids around here don't call me by any label or genre other than rob..and thats the way it should be.. "we got time before the LARP, my mom can drive us to shop mart so we can hang out with the other goth kids" LMAO..this hits close to home as in one of our counties, all the kids hang out at wal-mart like its a mall or something. Its FN Hilarious to see this in here.. |
Agreement with Wetflame on my part. I know Brian's just making fun of the stereotype here, but I've witnessed certain events that made me quite allergic to all the goth-bashing, as I'd call it.
Not that it's a reason to start a big debate for me; the comic was as funny as ever, objectively, but I couldn't laugh that much about it. EDIT: Futae... agreement with you too. :) Y'know, no one actually knows how Vilbert's character will turn out eventually (we don't know him on the inside...); I have this feeling he will turn out to be just another whiny poser. And that's okay with me there. Okay, Brian probably knows. |
