Carry on.

Toastburner B 12-08-2005 11:10 AM

You know...back when I made this thing...I pondered whether or not I should make an omake thread.

I have come to realize that would eb somewhat redundant.

Anyways, mammothtank is right, there have been cases of godmodding going on here. Look, I know this RP is basically Calvinball with a plot, but let's keep the godmodding to a minimum...or to zero if we can. I'll let the cases that have already pass, but next person so goes overboard and godmods will have some "bad stuff" happen to them in the RP.

Oh, yeah. I went there. "Bad stuff". I'll make it fit in the plot somehow..you just wait and see!

EDIT!! A BIG, RATHER IMPORTANT EDIT

As tends to happen in RPs, a fair number of people who signed up have fallen away from the pack.

Meanwhile...a couple of people have PMed me, asking me to be let in. I know I closed the sign-ups...but I'm a big softy, and I hate turning people away.

So, in a stroke of genious, I have found a way to make a decision without me having to make the decision...I'll leave it to you. We're having a vote.

Mr. Viewtiful and Rhiya Ravenwing have asked to be let into the RP. I'd like everyone to vote "yea" or "nay" on letting them in. While it's always good to have fresh meat, it's kinda late in the game to let people in. If you're cool with them being let in, vote "Yea". If you don't think it's a good idea to let people in this late, vote "nay".

Yeah, I know...this is generally designed to let me get out of making the decision. That was the plan. :p

Red Mage Black 12-08-2005 11:54 AM

Well, I say yea since we need just a tad bit more action. Krylo and Raiden are having all the fun, Krylo with his guns and whatnot and Raiden being a Thunder God. I say if we let two more people in we'll have enough action for the....... I don't know how much of us. I just say that next monster we face have to have at least two or three people take it down.

Raiden 12-08-2005 12:18 PM

Raiden says "Yeah"

And just so we're all clear, I really only killed one berserker on my own, but he was a powerful one and it took multiple posts, plus a gash on my back.

The one that I launched into the air, I assumed that it would come back now pretty pissed. If someone hasn't killed it off yet, it should be heading down.

mauve 12-08-2005 12:30 PM

A "Yea" for Mauve.

Like I said in my post, I think I'm headed offline for an extended weekend, starting tomorrow. See y'alls Sunday or Monday.

phil_ 12-08-2005 12:30 PM

I vote "yea." Mr. Viewtiful should have neat powers and Rhiya, well, maybe she'll use the rat-flail.

Premmy 12-08-2005 01:07 PM

Yea Like wise they should join, it'd be fun

CheshireThief 12-08-2005 02:17 PM

Of course I vote 'yea'! It was I who told Rhiya to ask to be let in, afterall!

And Mr. V. is cool, too.

(We need more females, and we'll take Mr. V. if we have to...)

Premmy 12-08-2005 02:22 PM

You can never have enough females man
never, never not ever

PyrosNine 12-08-2005 02:45 PM

I can't recall for the life of me who Mr. viewtiful is, but Rhiya's cool. Let her in.

See? I took damage. Or at least a status effect.

Toastburner B 12-08-2005 03:06 PM

I must admit, did raise an eyebrow at RMB's spell.

Not the spell itself...it's effect. Chaotic creatures.

The first thing I thought of was Is there anyone here who ISN'T chaoctic in alignment?!

Raiden 12-08-2005 03:33 PM

I like to think of myself as a Chaotic Good character.

I'm a good person, but I tend to destroy things too often.

Toastburner B 12-08-2005 03:42 PM

Yeah...that's what I generally play myself as.

But he didn't say evil characters...no, he had to say chaotic. :p

If he would of said "Evil" it would of blinded only half the group, not the whole group. :D

phil_ 12-08-2005 03:50 PM

I'm not Chaotic. I'm more Lawful Neutral. As in, I believe in rules and holding people accountable to those rules, but I won't go out of my way to stop a person who broke the law nor do I have the whole "concern for sentient beings" thing going for me. Well, I do sometimes, but normally laziness wins the day. I also believe in the whole "mercy" and "forgiveness" thing, keeping me far from being Lawful Evil.

So I can see fine, as long as my glasses stay firmly afixed to my nose.

Inbred Chocobo 12-08-2005 03:50 PM

Yea from me. I think that the amount of people might make it hectic, but I think a few people might fall behind and quit, balancing it out.

phil_ 12-08-2005 04:29 PM

TB, did you see the last of my many edits?

Truce 12-08-2005 05:52 PM

Oh, I say yeah. If only because I know Mr. V's weaknesses. Sure, he'd be on our side...but, that doesn't mean I won't exploit them.

In other words, umm...Yazai?

GARUD 12-08-2005 06:43 PM

I vote yes for both. The more the merrier.

Anyways, I'm not chaotic in alignment, just to add. I'm dark. Not the shadow kind of dark that ninjas are, the kind of dark that evil people use (note: I am not ebil).

Anyways, I vote the next enemy has so much power, we all have to take it down together. That's right. Teamwork inspires collective lazyness.

Krylo 12-08-2005 06:55 PM

I vote for the admittance of both Mr. Viewtiful and Rhiya Ravenwing.

mammothtank 12-08-2005 07:14 PM

Though it seems majorly decided, I too would like to vote for Mr. Viewtiful and Rhiya to be allowed in.

As for alignment, I'm a goody-two-shoes Lawful Good. I stick to what I believe in, and will fight for it if necessary. I also stand up for my friends, and never betray them.

Mr. Viewtiful 12-08-2005 10:35 PM

Alright, I guess I'll get to work on a character sheet and have it up by Saturday, unless anyone objects...

Rhiya Ravenwing 12-08-2005 11:07 PM

Apparently, now I can also join. Do people mind about that? No? Well, I'll throw up my character sheet anyway before TB enforces his Fist of Mighty Iron.

Name: Rhiya Ravenwing
Appearance: Exactly like her avatar, save for one minute detail. She also has a pair of small wings atop her head. Her back wings are able to disappear to allow her to mingle with the public, but she’s constantly seen wearing rather conservative clothing to cover her markings and a stylish hat to cover her head wings.
Weapons/Items: none. Weapons explained below.
Special Abilities:
Not exactly one to pride herself on her abilities, RR’s markings running down her right arm end in swirling patterns that spiral around her fingertips. The markings give her the ability of Chaos magic – or so she would refer to as ‘random shit happening’. Basically, what control she has over her magic is only her ability to focus on the intent of the magic. Once she has determined what kind of magic she wants, the spell itself will take a random form (ie: a defensive spell might suddenly create a barricade of purple pillows, or an offensive spell may writhe into a dozen fanged chickens, and don’t get me started on passive or transportative spells.) All in all, a rather useless form of magic. Unless of course her random spells happen to stumble upon a rather wicked Earthquake of Thor, or Serpent Quagmire (and these incidents are not rare, but not common either).
Henceforth, she rarely uses her chaos magic, rather relying mainly on her most prized ability – her wings.

They aren’t normal wings. Of course, she could fly with them and do all sorts of normal stuff with them, but they are really an amorphic extension of her mind. Henceforth, with some concentration (and lots of practice) RR has managed to morph her wings to a spectacular degree. Even though her wings cannot surpass their current state of mass, she can shape them into claws, tentacles, weapons, even to some degree change her own appearance. She can also harden them into a sort of carapace around her, making her sort of invulnerable to moderate periods of abusive, mad physical assault.

Apart from those abilities, RR is also possessed of that womanly charm, as well as that innate ability to sense danger and – due to a recent and irreversible accident with her chaos magic – extremely agile.

[NINJ EDIT!] She now has the ability to make Raiden dance and sing a jolly song whenever she says the word 'jiggle' (you heard me! Now dance and sing!)

(I’m hoping her chaos magic can give me an excuse as to why I was so frigging late. She could’ve been lost on the way… or something.)

Raiden 12-08-2005 11:15 PM

Also, I now have a pair of black halfgloves with studs and lightning bolts sewn in that gives Rhiya power to make me....

You know what, I'll just have her put it in her abilities.

PyrosNine 12-08-2005 11:42 PM

I'm totally chaotic, and somewhat evilly neutral. As my title of my post states, I am the reason why only the wives and children burn in dwarfland.

Cool Avatar Rhiya! Though I must ask, is the blood part of the chaos? Or are those just tatoos? Well, gives me a good reason to drop the catform. Though I actually was going to do that for round 2 anyway.

CheshireThief 12-09-2005 12:09 AM

And I'm easily Chaotic. The line between Good and Neutral blurs at my whim, though.

Rhiya Ravenwing 12-09-2005 01:59 AM

Those are tattoos that imbue her with the power of "random shit happening"!

Mr. Viewtiful 12-09-2005 03:06 AM

Yeah, I kinda went nut with this profile, but after seeing what the other guys could do (godly powers, Plot Device, etc.) I came up with this. I'm waiting on approval before making anything close to an entrance, however...

Name: Mr. Viewtiful (abbreviated as Mr. V)

Appearance:

Mr. V is around 6’2” with an above average build. He isn’t particularly muscular (he appears to be quite the opposite), but he still packs a punch when he fees like doing so. He appears to be in his late teens, mostly due to his barely-visible five o’ clock shadow he sports, his unkempt brown hair, and the wild look in his vibrant hazel eyes. (appearance similar to avatar #3 here)

He dresses very simply for someone claiming to be so stylish: well-used black sneakers, dark blue cargo pants, and a black t-shirt sporting his logo (a burning fist) are his trademark for the moment. He also currently sports a dark green vest and a purple baseball cap, usually worn backwards. A golden T can be found above the bill on the hat, faded from use but still very visible.

His alignment would most likely be Chaotic/Good, if only because things tend to go nuts when he’s around. Personality-wise, however, he’s more of a Neutral/Good. He tends to be very loyal to his companions, and adept at wisecracks and the like. Generally, he’s a likable guy, although some just find his nature irritating.

Equipment:

Digital Camera: Will oftentimes stick it in random places inconspicuously to film adventures, a la Spider-Man.

Boombox: helps him pump phat beats when SFX isn’t working. Can seemingly pull it out of thin air, while storing it in the same fashion.

Improvised Weaponry:
Mr. V doesn’t carry anything someone would call a “weapon,” so he uses whatever is handy when unarmed strikes can’t do the job.

Abilities:

VFX: Since I’m lazy, I decided to totally rip off the VFX powers from Viewtiful Joe. I bet nobody else saw that one coming, eh? Note that all powers can be combined in conjunction with each other, but strains him. So he could probably maintain Slow by itself for a relatively long amount of time, but using all of them at once would probably render him totally exhausted after mere moments.

Also, the majority of Mr. V’s VFX powers work similarly to Cheshire’s remote control, but requires no external devices and more often than not has an area of effect that is beyond Mr. V’s control under most circumstances.

Slow: Slows down everything in the general vicinity of Mr. V to a crawl. Also gives Mr. V an extra win-up to his attacks, giving them steel-shattering force. Also makes it easier to dodge and recover form attacks for Mr. V, who is also affected by Slow, but not as severely as everything else in his vicinity. Increases the effects of elements within its area of effect, as well (i.e.: fire, electricity, water, etc.).

Mach Speed: Gives Mr. V a massive boost in speed, allowing him to move around swiftly. Also lets him attack at blazing fast speeds. Unlike Slow, Mach Speed doesn’t affect any beings but Mr. V, but it does diminish the effectiveness of elemental attacks in his vicinity. Grants temporary immunity to fire over prolonged use due to amount of heat generated by friction (appears to be set aflame in this state).

Zoom: Focuses attention on Mr. V, effectively drawing attacks within its area of effect towards him exclusively. Also makes him look intimidating, leaving the weakest of foes stunned. Has been known to increase attack power as well, especially when combined with Slow.

Replay: Warps space-time around Mr. V so whatever object he interacts with gets affected threefold. For example, if Mr. V uses Replay when he punches a wall, his action would be repeated twice more, effectively squeezing three interactions within the space of one. Grants temporary immunity to electricity and other forms of electrical energy over prolonged use, due to controlled surges in space-time (appears to be surging with electricity when in effect). Has little experience with this power, thus he uses it sparingly.

SFX: Allows Mr. V to generate sound waves through controlled manipulation, reproducing different sounds ranging from a wailing guitar to a powerful sonic boom. Normally only uses it sparingly to do remedial things like to give his air guitar an actual sound when fooling around or jamming with other musicians, due to his lack of experience with this power.

Elemental Resistance: due to repeated use of Mach Speed and (to a lesser extent) Replay, Mr. V is inherently resistant to fire and electricity to a certain degree.

Attributes:

Dynamic Entry: Always one to make an entrance, Mr. V is very talented at first strikes and surprise attacks. Problem is, he isn’t all that stealthy about it, so while a Dynamic Entry may be devastating, he usually misses.

Increased Damage vs. Inanimate Objects: Due to his Dynamic Entry’s lack of accuracy, Mr. V has figured out how to easily break inanimate objects (walls, tables, etc.) since he’s constantly crashing into them. Also is very handy for breaking through armor and the like.

Clumsiness: although skilled at dodging blows, he is very prone to clumsiness (i.e.: tripping on something), which sometimes works in his favor. More often than not, though, he ends up with a huge headache.

Brawler: since Mr. V is for the most part a close-ranged unarmed combatant, he suffers when up against large amounts of enemies that utilize ranged weaponry. Although his VFX can usually remedy this, it isn’t always the case.

mauve 12-09-2005 03:53 AM

Raiden- Collars, harnesses, gloves... The way things are going, your Free Will will be completely gone within a matter of days. Pyros will soon have nothing to worry about. :p

Discussion of Alignment- Mauve doesn't bother thinking about her particular alignment, and as a result, she's prone to being a little bit of everything. Impossible, you say? Probably. Laziness on Mauve's part? You betcha. Will Mauve change her ways and limit herself? Not likely. Did she make all this up at the spur-of-the-moment to explain why RMB's spell startled her but not blinded her? You know it.

Rhiya Ravenwing 12-09-2005 05:57 AM

hey, at least Kittykat didn't go through with her threat in changing the harness into a bra....

>.>

<.<

>.>

And on alignment, RR's probably chaotic good, but RR doesn't listen to D&D rules, and therefore can do stuff that would warrant questioning by D&D rules.

I should've added that in. But meh...
