A thanks to Brian.

I'd just like to take a moment to Thank Brian/Kurosen for posting comics even during the holiday season for his loyal followers, instead of taking time off to celebrate like the rest of us. He obviously still gets to celebrate Christmas (or whatever holiday he celebrates, not really sure on that one...) but I'm thankfull for his comitment to the community.

And so I raise a glass to you, Brian!

catlover20410 12-23-2005 10:31 PM

Other webcomics are having major issues. I'm glad to know that nothing barring internet problems of doom can prevent 8-bit theater's postings.

The Wizard Who Did It 12-23-2005 11:05 PM

So many web-comics that can't post because the temperature is one degree lower than they like, and to stop Brian it takes a crazed driver and the internet to forcefully stop him from updating.

Cheers man, cheers.

talse 12-24-2005 12:03 AM

Yeah, if i recall, even during the series of 5 huricanes, he only missed like one or two updates. Thats one of things I take away from him as a shining example of cartoonmanship. the storytelling and the dedication. Not so much the art, though.

Kurosen 12-24-2005 12:51 AM

Thanks for the praise, but I'm sure I missed more than two updates. Four hurricanes and, what, a month and a half without internet access? All I remember from that nightmare time is that I put out as many comics as I could under the circumstances.

Whomper 12-24-2005 02:44 AM

I haven't been around much, but it's quite admirable to find out that you've been updating through all that turbulence. Props to you, Brian.

XSarustaX 12-24-2005 02:59 AM

Yeah, I'd like to thank Brian for all his hard work, just to please our happy souls. Happy merely due to his hard work and dedication to making us happy.

<raises glass> To Brian!

lol

The Wandering God 12-24-2005 04:19 AM

Indeed, Brian is the man.

While there are other online comics who might have more fame, Brian has more heart in my opinion. And a big ol' funnybone. Here's to hundreds more!

Brian is indirectly responsible for me meeting my wife.

To Brian!

Ghost Rider 12-24-2005 11:28 AM

Timely updates, a friendly forum personality, solidly informative and knowledgeable newsposts...God, I'm awesome :D

But seriously, Long Live the Spinner of Tales, the Twinkeriffic, the Indelectiblistc, the Juggernaut's cousin's best friend's roomates's 2nd favoritist comic-weilding ball of funny, BRIAAAAN!

talse 12-24-2005 01:03 PM

well, over the course of 4 months, from june 26th to october 26, brian produced 46 comics (counting 5 filler/half comic updates), that averages out to 11 and half comics a month. thats not that bad as the previous fourth months brian produced 57 comics (counting 12 filler/guest strip updates) which averaged out to be 14.25 comics a month.

so the huricanes only knocked out 2 updates a month, i'd say thats pretty damn devoted.

Ballisticstrike 12-24-2005 01:20 PM

Don't forget Nuklear Age! ^-^ (Of which I will hopefully recieve this christmas)

Whetstone 12-24-2005 01:44 PM

Well Brian I'm not much of a butt-kisser. But I WILL say that your comic was the primary inspiration for my webcomic (at least you can see the influence if you look closely). I discovered 8-bit a few months back and started from episode 1. I plowed through the entire series in about a week or two- and got me really interested in webcomics. If you want to see what could be considered 'the freakish (yet sleek) child of 8-bit' take a gander at Sacred Blue. It has nothing to do with video games- but it's definitely stemming from your brand of humor.

Anyways, i suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Consider yourself flattered.

Kroze Gamegod 12-25-2005 04:02 AM

Its cause of Brian that I finally got my Fighter and Black Mage Tee Shirts a whole year after ordering them...
And I got a discount too from him cause of it....
That just shows how deciated he is to keeping his fans happy.....

Kitana Paladine 12-25-2005 08:15 PM

Yes, Brian. Thank you for the amazingly funny that is 8Bit Theater. And a wonderful X-mas to you and yours.

Buddha Fett 12-26-2005 02:46 PM

cheers, Brian. I think you've earned it!

*downs a shot o' whisky*
*hiccup*I lurve you, man...

Wetflame 12-26-2005 06:40 PM

Brian, you've been pretty awesome as of late. I've never seen an "Internet celeb" so loyal to his fans(yet still not letting them stop you from doing what you want); it's so cool that you're on the board the whole time. I stopped reading 8 Bit for a while(can't remember why, think I gave up webcomics for a bit), and to be honest, your "audience interaction" is what made me go "Aww, he's a great guy, I should read his comic again".

Merry Christmas, Brian :)

gummibear 12-28-2005 09:40 PM

!

Brian, I know now that 8-bit is a part of my life because I'm watching Rocky Horror for the first time in ages and when the lips sing 'when worlds collide' I spit my beer all over because Matoya and Bahamut popped into my head. You rock dude! Thanks for adding to the internet pop-culture. :D

ZAKtheGeek 12-28-2005 10:16 PM

I envy people who have not read 8bt, because they're got hours of wonderful entertainment available to them. I too greatly appreciate Brian's work for various reasons. Now in particular is an appropriate time for my giving thanks.

Carnivore 12-28-2005 11:00 PM

Of all the things I read and or watch. 8-Bit is the one most of all that I wish I could forget everything about it just so I could re-experience what I thought when I first read it. Not even Harry Potter can claim that!

I am not quoteing 8 bit when I say Iv'e bean saying that for years but the problem is you nead to only erase the words not the remembered humor or else why would you reread
P.S. the only flaw is no mario :(
Edit: HP does hold that to me a little but 8 bit is da bom

PhasmaRok 12-29-2005 10:02 AM

8BT is truly awesome, not least for its unstoppabley regular updates.

The only thing that could make it better would be Alucard, Anderson, Walter, and Seras.
Because Hellsing makes everything better.
