Psp?

I recently got 275$ (cdn) in gift cards for Future Shop, and they're having their boxing week sale. Now, my sister got a DS, and I've always wanted a PSP. Problem is, I don't think I can afford to get any games after getting the PSP, and there are a few games I want for my Cube and/or PS2.

What do you people suggest I do? Buy the PSP? Wait for games? Or buy games?

I'd say it depends on what you want for PSP. I mean, you can pretty much just play most of it on PS2...

Mostly, I want it for the ease of portability.

And titles such as: SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo, Coded Arms, and Lumines

I'd go with the games first, and then wait on the PSP. That might just be because I'm not a big fan of the PSP. Really, though, I don't see the point of getting a PSP if you're not going to be able to afford any games with it. It may be portable, but you can't use it...

Well, think of it this way. If you ahve a PSP, not only can you play games, you can put music, video, and pictures on it from your computer (mostly worthless, but hey, just to say you have one =p)

Well, I guess you could get the PSP and put some sort of emulator on it, but that might tempt you to pirate games, so it wouldn't be a good idea...

Battery life makes it so that you probably won't be play it much when you're not at home, which largely defeats its purpose because again, you can play most of its game on PS2.

And it sort of depends on what you already own. Like, if you happen to have a video ipod, the media fatures of PSP become pretty worthless.

If your PSP comes with anything higher than firmware 2.00, you're boned as far as getting any kind of homebrew to run on it.

Quite frankly, there are very few reasons to own a PSP unless you're planning to use it for emulation and homebrew games. I still don't own anything besides Lumines and Metal Gear Acid, though Tokobot is supposed to be pretty cool. I just need to figure out what version it uses... I'm still reluctant to go to 2.00 even though downgrading back to 1.50 is possible.

Thats why you need to buy this.

Yes, spend even more money just to make your expensive new gadget do its job right.

Very appealing.
