I could've sworn I made this thread already, but now I can't find it...

Anyway, I'll eventually make a new thread just for late sign ups... probably on sunday night. I'll link it in this post and also form a list of characters... also on sunday night/monday some time.

Hyarion: It can be the man, and catching him shouldn't be hard. He won't be running. Don't engage in combat with him, though. Pick a fight if you want, but don't start combat yet... on the basis he's far beyond you, and all the other PCs for that matter. I'll take care of the battle itself.

Also, Pyros, no more time stopping... that would take a LOT of life energy. It is however ok to bend rock around very quickly as well as draining quickly. Your post has been slightly altered to reflect this. Feel free to fine tune it yourself.

It isn't actually time stopping, he doesn't actually do anything in that moment. It's just a way of describing how he feels when he accesses the power. Because as the way you described how magic works, I.E. it is only slightly harder then swinging a sword, he only needs a moment (the timeless moment) to gather his energy to attack.


Edit: But I can see your problem with it so I won't do it again.

Edit2: If you want a comparison, think of someone's life flashing between there eyes in the moment they think they are going to die, or any other moments that seem to stretch out longer then they really are.

For the effects of storing magic in the body, are there any mental or sensual benefits? Or is it all physical?

In the future I would ask that we not take liberities with each others characters. For one, Veg is supposed to be a trained fighter if he's going to block something he's going to block it so it doesn't still hit him. There is much more to a block than just the parry a bit of movement to the side would probably have happened. Also, I'm wearing plate armor over a good portion of my thighs meaning it would be hard to stick me anywhere above the knees. You were not specific about the location but just about any shock small enough not to cause serious harm is not going to knock an 8 foot mountain of muscle back; even more so when directed down a portion of one leg. Furthermore, I don't see your rush as Krylo said this guy as the potential to kill us all and his just an NPC that we're not really supposed to meet yet, or maybe ever. Interactions between PCs should come first as that is at least 1/2 the story. Also, he is walking in an unhurried manner making it very simple to catch up to him especially after he was run into.

It also puts me in the postion of now having a hole in my leg as well as some potential nerve damage. Not to mention being more or less stunned for a good while. I've been shocked quite a few times and anything big enough to effect an entire body is going to leave the person immoble for at least a few seconds and in a good deal of pain for at least a minute.

All thats besides the fact that Veg wasn't even barring you're way thinking you were involved. Veg was barring the way because his sense of honor told me people should be helping the injured. Also, even though Veg is a trained fighter he prefers not to outright attack someone with no evidence as it tends to look dishonorable and/or get him thrown into prison. He would not have made such an aggresive attack and very well might have given way had you said you were chasing someone or going for the docotor. Remember his race thinks every new person they meet is completely honest and believes them totally. In short that was handled poorly.

My character was in a hurry, since HE doesn't know that the black cloaked man (tm) is far beyond him, and I didn't want to force your character to give ground to me, so I tried to deal with it in a way that left everything pretty much as it was before.
I'll change it a bit...

Now that was pretty good. Thanks for listening and understanding what the main problem was. Thats a rare quality to find these days I should think.

Should I stay where I am or get to the palace?

Up to you... I'd probably suggest going there, though, if you plan on finding the guy. IC you'd probably want to ask if the person you sold to was actually there, OOC you probably are going to want some allies to hunt this guy down.

Also, IHMN: Purely physical. Tengoku meditation has mental benefits, but they basically come down to not getting addicted to magic.

Pyros: It would have been fine if you had said "It seemed as though time stopped" instead of "He stopped time."

Hyarion: Don't be controlling PCs anymore, unless you have said PC's permission to do what you're doing.

Sith/CT/Hyarion: Yes, Cerrave was thrown with enough force to bowl over Veg and Hyarion. Yes it will probably leave all of you in pain... Veg in less than the others thanks to the armor.

I thought I did say it seemed like he stopped time, but w/e.

Hyarion, I don't mean this in a bad way, but I'm a bit leery of you creating dialogue for other characters. I mean, these are other people's characters that they invtested their time and creativity into making. Maybe they should get the chance to speak their side of the conversation...

I mean, if everyone else is ok with it, I guess it's fine, but I'm asking you ahead of time NOT to say anything for my character.
