Would my character have any prior knowledge to the outside world? Or would the most he know is that the godless humans and animal-people have been fighting for a long time, but recently stopped? Or would he not even know that?

Also, while samurai all use magic to empower themselves, they still know about the other uses of magic right? Since it's an easy as swinging a sword, it seems unlikely that no one has ever accidently cast a spell.

He would know about the war, but the fact that it stopped would probably be a bit of a shock to him. They aren't TOO far from animaeorth land on their southern border, so the war has leaked into Tengoku before.

As for magic: It's known as a dark art with horror stories used to scare children about it, and part of the reason that Tengoku stays away from the other humans.

What is the cause of the destruction mentioned in the last few pages? Something about an attack on the king, and explosions...

There were two explosions. First one was caused by unknown person (Most likely silver eyed guy) that was at the castle, aimed at the king and animal-people.

Second explosion was at Zephyr's house/lab, caused by the Silver eyed guy.

I'd like to point out once here, because I see a possibility of some stagnation coming up, is that this is a world I designed for you to explore as you wish. So, you don't have to ask me for direction say... after Azetheros's men show up or whatever. Do what you feel is right. If Cerrave, say, wants to go ruin hunting, that's more than cool. If Hyarion wants to try to hunt down the steely-eyed man, also cool.

Further, I'm pretty sure only Zephyr is actually in the barracks... I believe Leon and Yamato are outside the destroyed lab of Zephyr, and Azrael and Sephysama's character are still in the courtyard.

As for the 100 royal reward. Royals are about equal to one thousand dollars each. So that's a $100,000 reward. Not bad for a medieval kingdom.

The first explosion was to stop the peace treaty frombeing signed. The second one tried to kill Zephyr(Squishy) because he sold explosives I believe to the guy with silvery eyes.

I forgot to put this in appearance, but Kawazoe has a shurkien holster on his right thigh. Like Naruto's.
