Big Fish

Hey, I just got back from seeing Big Fish. And I must say that I was most pleased with it. If you guys are looking for a movie to watch, or even something to do this weekend, I highly recommend that you go out and see Big Fish. Because at least I liked it, and you might like it too!

Now, discuss.

I'm gonna go see it on Sunday... I love stuff like this.

What the fish is Big Fish about?

From what I gather from the previews I've seen, the main character's dad has told him many fantastic stories to him about his life and whatnot. As the guy grows up, he grows skeptical, so one day he tells his father that he doesn't believe most of the stories... I guess after that he goes and starts to experience all these things his dad told him about, finding out that they are true.

it's a tour of his father's stories on his deathbed, with the intent of showing that, while they may be false, that's not what matters. it's the meaning, the intent, that matters. the stories still aren't true, but the kid learns a valuable lesson.

Im planning on going to see it with my girlfriend sometime in the future... we're big Tim Burton fans... even if she doesnt entirely recall who he is by name. Eheh. >_>

I thought it was good...definetly not what they're billing it as (I think "Wizard of Oz" was mentioned...), but a good movie I agree...

I also just saw Big Fish. It wasnt what the previews made it out to be, and I thought it lacked that sense of "Tim Burton-ness" that fans of his work come to expect. Nevertheless I thought it was a very good movie. I also heard that it was a tribute to Burton's own father, which I thought was interesting.

Hah, i started a thread of the same name a week or so ago when i first saw the movie. didnt get much positive feedback then, but people seem to be coming around.

as for me, i think it was the best movie ive seen for quite some time.

i heard from one of my classmates that its base of a book of some kind (not suprizing, most things are nowadays), but ive heard nothing about what this book is or anything.
