Realizing that there was a chase going on, Robyn sighed. Noticing, however, that the villain was FanDingo, Robyn realized that her assistance might be needed. Without even looking to see who was pursuing FanDingo whilst causing so much destruction, Robyn sprinted back towards her house. She'd have to meet up with Freeze some other time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The man in the suit from the night before left Wayne Enterprises with a huge grin on his face. What was causing him to be so happy was anyone's guess. As he held his briefcase and the case from the night before, he checked his watch. He chuckled a bit as he looked down and saw the Blight Rabbit on his wrist. Once his car showed up, he handed a note to the driver. Still not speaking, he got in the back. After a shocked gasp from the driver, the man's grin was gone. The driver, after having read the note, looked back at the strange man whose face seemed to be masked in shadows in the back of the car. "Sir... Why on Earth do you want me to take you there of all places?" The man was not pleased. "You are paid to drive and keep your mouth shut, not to ask questions." The driver turned back to watch the road. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again." He grumbled to himself about just wanting to know why. The man in the back stifled a low laugh. "Not all riddles have answers. The new era will be that of Paradox." |
Lilika knew she was cursed. She flees a police officer she attacked, who was probably calling in her near location to other nearby cops, which there were probably dozens of...
And now this. The main rival gang of the Discarded, the Harpy gang, had blocked off Lilika's escape to the nearby road ahead. "Well, lookie what we got here, girls." The platinum blonde leader of the gang, Iris, stood up from the damp box she was sitting on. The Harpy gang started out stronger than the Discarded, but when Chris and eventually Lilika joined, the Discarded increased in number and power, gaining ground and power. This pissed off a few gangs, but none so much as the Harpies. This gang was distinguished by the fact that all members were female and that they wore a lot of feathers with their leather jackets, which they weren't wearing now. Lilika didn't particularly dislike the gang, and if Chris wasn't involved with the Discarded, Lilika might have actually joined these girls instead. She probably would have tried for leisure chatting, but with cops on her tail, Lilika didn't have the time for talk. "Out of my way, Iris. Leave right now, or the police will chase after you as well." To prove her urgency, Lilika raised the revolver to Iris's chest. The gang leader laughed joyfully, drawing some strange looks from the three other girls. "Oh, please. You don't have the guts to pull that trigger and we both know it." If the Harpies needed any indication, it was Lilika's shaking right arm, unable to even put a finger on the trigger. Just then, the cop Lilika had knocked down earlier showed up at the back end of the alley. "Well, well, well. The psycho girl and a few of the Harpy gang. Ha ha ha, we'll have all of Gotham's lesser criminals rounded up by the end of the-" A brunt sound later, and the cop dropped like a sack of apples. Lilika turned around to see another member of the Harpies withdraw her blackjack weapon from where she had struck the cop on the backside of his neck. "Keep your eyes on the shadows, dumbass." the girl had simply said. "Shit," Iris said from behind Lilika. "Girls, we're getting out of here. Lilika, you too." "But...uhhh..." Lilika said, turning around. Iris hurried up to Lilika and took her by the wrist. "You wanna get arrested, girl? Move your ass!" |
Alec drove back to the station, and hopped out of his car. He walked in after making sure he'd locked his baby, and made a brief stop to grab a new donut. Toffee glazed. Simply orgasmic.
"Who've we got?" "Gary Lewis, a riot officer from Arkhum, he was found with a spray bottle in his kitchen sink trying to wash it, because something was eating it from the inside. He also was wearing chemical gloves, and had a few burn marks on his forearms." "Acid? Or radiation?" "We kept him quarantined briefly, but it definitely looks like acid." "Hot damn. He talked?" "He told me to go fuck my mother." Alec smiled at the officer, then walked into the interrogation room. The man gave him the finger. Alec kept smiling, and pulled his chair out before sitting down opposite the man. There was obvious tension in the room. Alec briefly skimmed his file. "So...you got a job at Arkhum instead of being sent to prison because you molested a little boy..." "Fuck you." "I'm going to be honest with you. I hate pedophiles. I hate them very very much." "Fuck you! That fucking kid was lying!" "So here's a nifty little comparison...your little acid trick? Released an inmate who was then indirectly responsible for the death of a great man, who happens to have an eight year old girl who I don't has stopped crying since I told her that daddy's dead." No hint of amusement. Okay, he didn't feel remorse which indicated sadism, but the girl didn't do it. A sadistic pedophile would've liked hearing that. "You like little boys Mr. Lewis?" "Fuck you." "Turns out that there weren't any pedophiles in Arkhum. The inmates killed them within a week. So if I went and put you in jail, complete with your record, you would be dead within a week. I think that's fair. Now, I could overlook the child molestation charges, and just charge you with conspiracy to free inmates, but only if you tell me who got you to do this in Arkhum. That offer expires in ten minutes." "The case is sealed, dickwad. I've served my sentence. You can't touch me, and nothing I say in here is valid, as I've requested my lawyer. Now, how about I give you the finger-" He did. "-and I just kick back and swear at you." Alec smiled a him. "Oh my, your judo grip on the English language has frail little me shaking in my boots..." "Now, this little boy Adrian, he was a cute little fu-" Alec snapped upright and threw the table over onto Lewis. He then waited for Lewis to get the table off before ramming him into the wall, then throwing him onto the ground. DeRaine got over him, straddling him actually, and slammed the barrel of his gun into his eye. "YOU THINK THIS IS A JOKE?! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!" Lewis squirmed under Alec's augmented strength and meakly called out, "What're you doing!? Guard! GUARD!" Alec withdrew the barrel of the gun, flipped the table back upright, then grabbed Lewis, spun, and slammed his face into the table. He then jammed his gun into the back of his head and leaned over. He whispered as evilly as he could into his ear, "Here's a brief background. I'm technically still a member of the Canadian Military Police. In turns out, that since 2040, members of the Military Police are authorized to use whatever means neccesary to extract information, as long as it poses a direct threat to the DnD, and allies abroad." Alec swung him off the table and into a wall. He then pulled his knife and said, "If you don't start talking now, I am going to cut our your eyes. Then I'll start cutting toes off. Once those are gone, I'm going to break your thumbs. After that, I'll probably castrate you, cut you a bit, then cut out your tongue and start stabbing your dick until you write down what you know." Lewis was shaking and crying in the corner. Alec walked out of the room, saying, "Think about it." He got outside, and the officer gave him a raised eyebrow. "You realize that qualifies as police brutality, right?" "Yep." "And that was just a complete bunch of bullshit in there, right?" "Yep." "He's too afraid to try anything, isn't he?" "Yep." "He's gonna' talk?" "Yep." Alec grabbed his donut, and began to eat it, then said "I'm gonna go grab some more coffee for the coffee machine. Can you think of anything else to grab while I'm gone?" "Nope." |
FanDingo looked down towards the earth below and then back to RedWing, "Are you kidding me man?" RedWings eyes slitted just for a moment, "Alright! ******* As echo got closer to the park he saw a man get out of his still running car and move into one of the local suburb homes. Echo stopped as a smile graced his lips, the repulsing anti-gravity portions of the vehicle were reknown for the heat they put off. He quickly set down the bird under it. Standing there with his cape blowing eloquently in the wind he watched as passerby's took notice of his out of place appearance. "Hey, hows it going?" |
Redwing groaned, That was barely enouhg information to make an inferance. All he really knew was that something happened that resulted in the security system disengaging. He'd definately have to go to Arkham furthur investigate. At the moment he had to deal with Fandingo, who was screaming rather loudly. "Yeesh, don't be such a little bitch, falling is nothing. Ohh wait you don't have wings." he grinned evilly after this. He spun around in the air putting Fandingo behind his feetclaws. He thrust them backand they instinctively clamped shut on both of his furry shoulders, a little too tightly, he could feel blood seeping on his toes. he spread his wings and floated in a wide circle. When he got close enough to the ground he found a streetlight and threw Fandingo up in the air, perched on the pole suspending the light, and grabbed him by the arms as he fell back down. He brought his face close to his own. "Is that all you got for me?"
Freeze was left in a daze on the roof. He wasn't really sure what to do, since there was a bright light, then everyone expect Demon was gone. He was going to go ask Demon if he knew about the Tinkerer, but then he heard some screaming, and say FanDingo falling from the sky with Red Wing chasing him. After remembering the batman's words from a while ago, Freeze jumped off the side of the building and created an in slide to follow him.
He wanted to somehow prevent FanDingo from being splattered on the ground, but couldn't think of anything effective. Luckily, Red Wing did it, and then landed on a light post. Freeze was close by, and quickly charging down on the splicers. He used his left hand to continue the slid, and shot a freezing beam at Red Wing to freeze him to the pole. |
Of the many joys in life, one of the greatest is stepping into a park on a wam, sunny day. Perhaps the only place in Gotham where the shadows were few and not truely dark, where all sorts of colors bloomed from the earth. The grass filled the entire area, hindered only by the bike trail and the borders of the park. The trees rose above the grass, and even a few rose above the metal giants called buildings that had shoved all the trees into their recreational prison.
Some even bore fruit, and younger children darted about eating apples, nuts, and oranges. Yes, oranges. While it was one of the few places untouched by modern science, it was relative. Ecofreaks and god-players alike made their own contributions, from bizarre hybrids to artfully molded trees. The deformed trees and their ilk have been banned only 7 years ago from the park. New rules were formed that create a strict code all entrants into the park need to follow after some genius kids created a plant that was designed to create even more fresh air and filter out the poisons released into the city on the daily than regular plants. Unfortunately, once it was place in a non-lab environment, it displayed some other characteristics other than the favorable ones. The plant viciously attacked any and all plantlife nearby, and grew exponentially. And as it grew, it needed an enormous amount of nutrients, and drove it's roots into cars, buildings, and people to get them. Batman had just disappeared, but fortunately the park had it's own champion still living. Mrs. Ivy of Poison Ivy fame, a dedicated supporter of the park defeated the super-weeed with her years of knowledge and even worked to restore the park to it's former glory. She dissappeared like the Dark Knight himself afterwards though. The final defining feature of the park was the huge reflective pool and fountain. The water's shimmering blue matched so perfectly with the crisp green grass. It was in this place that the little flame's heart was set aglow. As the soon as it's wings became dry and light, it rocketed off the Echo's shoulder and into the trees above. |
RedWing was frozen, rather uncomfortably, with Fandingo's face inches from his, and Freeze was behind him, time to go to work. "Now you better have a DAMN good reason for doing that freezie pop, becaUse I'm just getting angrier and angrier, and.." at that moment something occured to him " hey you would'nt happen to know anything about what went down at Arkham would you?
|
"You're frozen to a pole with an angry hyena inches from your face, you don't ask the question." Freeze said as he slid up to the street light, so he was to the side of the splicers.
"Now, how do I contact the Tinkerer?" Freeze asked. |
FanDingo had been growling deeply until he heard freezes voice. "I told you I don't know how." Turning to Freeze he saw that freezes attention was on RedWing, "Oh him. Heheheheheee, I'm going to enjoy gnawing your face off, popsicle."
