8-Bit Theater Fighting/Adventure Game
How cool would an 8BT video game be? (Please don't say "FF1") There would be two modes, Fighting and Adventure.
Adventure: You can play as Red Mage, Black Mage, Fighter, or Thief, and you go through the various situations that the ones from 8-bit go through, only there would be mini-games (Perhaps involving King Steve and others). Fighting: You start with BM, RM, WM, BB, Fighter, and Thief. You can unlock Rogue, Berserker, Cleric, Ranger, Vilbert, Garland, Bikke, and Drizz'l. They would each have their own ultimates, special attacks, special techniques, normal magic, and melee combos. Black Mage: Ultimate: Hadoken (Duh) Special Attacks: Meteor, Fire-9 Normal Magic: Bolt-2 Melee Attack: Knife Special Techniques: Fighter-Doken (Summons Fighter; 2 meters), Hell-King Mode (Can temporarily sky-rocket all stats; 3 meters) Fighter: Ultimate: Two-Fisted Monkey Style Attack Special Attacks: Me-doken, Sword-Chucks Normal Magic: None Melee Attack: Sword (Duh) Special Techniques: Invinsibility (Can stay alive with 1 HP after being hit by an attack that would've normally killed him; 2 meters), Not so false stupidity (Temporarily Paralyze your enemy; 1 meter) Thief: Ultimate: Law Ninjas (Summons 3 Law Ninjas) Special Attacks: Throwing Daggers, Soul Stealer (Absorbs HP) Normal Magic: None Melee Atack: Dagger Special Techniques: Super Ultra Fine Print (Con your enemy into giving you all of their energy; 2 meters), Clothing Steal (Decrease your opponent's defense; 1 meter) Red Mage: Ultimate: Hadoken Special Attacks: Ice-2, Armoire of Invinsibility (Summons BM, Thief and Fighter who stab your enemy with the Armoire) Normal Magic: Bolt-2 Melee Attack: Sword Special Techniques: Character Sheet (Can alter your stats anyway you like but only lasts for a short time; 3 meters), Brilliance (Temporarily paralyzes your enemy; 1 meter) There would be Health, Energy, and Special Technique meters (3). The special technique meters would regain slowly, and the energy can be restored by honing your energy. I know due to copyright and capital reasons this will never exist, but we can discuss a theoretical video game, can't we? |
...that would be freaking awsome.

I believe smeone was making a fighting game. Go check some parts of the forums.
Also... Fire-9. What was that one poem? The one with "Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice..." Yeah, burn the world why don't'cha. In other words, I don't think BM has ten levels of magic. |
Cool, I may experiment with M.U.G.E.N (A fighting game engine) and try to make an 8Bit Theatre fighting game. Thanks for the inspiration. Maybe Ill try to make it if I can get Brian and Sky Warrior Bob's premission to use the Sprites? Please.

That would so rule. I hope someone still has an RPG Maker program for the computer. The RPG Maker games have recent;y been disappearing, as well as the programs...it's quite sad, really...
|
I have RPGmaker 3.

I have some experience with mugen, so If I could use the sprites, since they are already made, The game could in in public beta form in a month or two. I just read the 8bit sprites page on the forum and I will be sure to that you Sky Warrior Bob. Thaks for the permision and I won't use Breakdancing Black Mage.

I don't see how RM's ultimate attack could be Hadoken. Actually, I don't see how RM could have an ultimate attack, since his main conceit is that he changes himself to fit the situation. Perhaps his "ultimate attack" could be a transformation into one of the other characters for a brief period of time (since he can change classes)?

People download this complete Final Fantasy I game clone what is made to Rpg Maker 2003.
http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=58172 It is very accurate game clone/unofficial remake and it have bonus hidden story with bonus bosses etc. Fully open source and I started to play it. 8-bit Theater version from story is quite possible to do because clone is ready so editing things make it easily fit more to 8-bit Theater story. |
There was indeed an 8BT fighting game. It went all the way to Drizzl, and included a slew of minigames. It was made with Klik & Play by Metroidgamma.
