The best console created so far!

Well everyone, what is your favorite video game console? It can be modern or retro. From the Atari 2600 to the new 360, (Beside Computers) Forgive me if this was already made in the past.

My favorite is the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) , my second would be the Super NES, folowed by the PS2.

edit: How do I make this into a poll?

MasterOfMagic 01-15-2006 09:31 PM

You can't. Polls are turned off except for Mods.

And...I don't really know. I don't think I could say my GC is...and I haven't owned any other one that I loved either. Guess they've all been the same to me.

The CG is good, but like the Dreamcast was underrated. SSBM was great for the system.

Chrono Trigger!

... I'm sorry, what was the question?

I have a sweet spot for my good old Sega Genesis who was much more graphics intensive than the SNES at time. Then we got a N64 who was nice too but it had plenty of boring games....
Then I tried both GC (I have one), X-Box(my cousins got both one) and Ps2 (my bro got one)...
In my judgment, PS2 as the best ratio of RPG games and the like. GC has the best graphics and joypad design (but then maybe I'm just accustomed to N64) and then the X-Box....well it has Fable. XD
That's about all I like about this console, it's game varieties are much "Sport and Quake-likes", two things I don't like much. (but especially sport)
GC as the best "fun for all the family" ratio and lots of classics we can't help but like (like Metroid, Starfox, Mario, F-Zero, Zelda...) even if their concept was a little lamer than the previouses.
PS2 as the most interesting range of games for people of our age I think, plus a potent joypad too (X-Box is GIGANTIC!!!) and the conmpact version of the console is VERY compact and thus of a real minimal encumbrance. Sadly we can't plug more than two friggin' joypads at the same time, big bad for them!
((But they bought Sega, so big plus for them!!! XD ))

In final, I guess I'll put PS2 in first, GC a milimeter behind because it's games turned too childish for my taste and X-Box far, far behind (sorry for all the X-Box lovers).

As for the older consoles, I don't wanna think about it! XD I have not played enough of them. But I can say wich one is the WORST!
It's........
THE VIRTUAL BOY FROM NINTENDO!!!!!!!
http://www.ocremix.org/images/systems/virtualboy.jpg

Stupid ugly eye-killing red-only incomfortable sucky machine monted on weak crappy unbalanced legs!!!
((wich I can totally say from personnal experience, no wonder why it almost never left Japan...))

Well, I love my Dreamcast like it were my child which allows me to never see any flaw with it, my Genesis was the first system I ever owned, and my N64 was how I rolled for a good 3 years, but I gotta go with my GC. So many great experiences on and involving it. Plus, Metroid Prime, which is my favorite game ever.

The GameGear, why?

The GameGear had

Shaq Fu.

Michael Jackson's Dreamwalker.

And VR Troopers, the game.

There are better systems, better games, but Gamegear has strange games, and a special place in my heart.

I have to go with the original PS. Why? It had FF7-9, origins, anthanology and tactics for all your FF needs. It was the rebirth of RPGs in the gaming world and I will always love it.

The N64. The majority of my gaming life has been spent on it. From Banjo-Kazooie to SSB. Also Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. Just had some f'ed up controllers.

Super Nintendo. The Best FF games were made for it.
