The Band that Doesn't Fit In
Ever like a band/artist a whole lot but it just doesn't quite fit in with the rest of your music library? Just, different in so many ways you wonder why you even like them. Not just one or two songs or something, the entire band and most, if not, all of their songs.
The closest thing I have to that is probably 3 Doors Down's 1st CD. I like heavy metal (i.e. Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Blood Has Been Shed, all non-violent too). It.... isn't. So... ya. I'm starting to like the 10 Years single and I might look into them too. But that's still new rock so, it isn't totally out there, but I guess I'm kind of close-minded. Post yours if you have one! Edit: I now have gotten my hands on the 10 Years CD, and I like it. So it is another band that doesn't really fit in. It isn't really like liking classical too though. Whew, that would be tough for me. |
I guess for me it would be... my Aqua music. It's probably the weirdest and fruitiest music I own, but I love it to death. Even then, I'm a pretty weird person so I don't consider it too "out there" for my tastes in music.
I guess the only other example would be a while ago during my pop phase (shudder) I wouldn't listen to anything remotely close to anything like Linkin' Park or Godsmack (or something like that, I'm not positive), but finally I got some music from one of those types of bands and for awhile it was really out there for me, but now I listen to it all the time. |
I have a cd by Ash, which is kind of punky garage-band type music. The rest of my collection is Beatles, Sting, Coldplay, Maroon Five, old Rolling Stones... stuff like that. It's really good, but it doesn't fit in with the other music by any stretch of the imagination.

Queens of the Stone Age in the midst of very light, cheerful music.

Well, my music taste is highly varied, as what I liston to is mostly dependent on what I'm in the mood for. I think though the most out of place one I have is *Drumroll* Riverdance.

I think that there are two bands that don't fit in my tastes. I like Mudvayne, even though I am not into metal
i am also into some indie rock as of late, which I have never been into |

My music is quiet varied, (metal, post-rock, classical, etc) but the weirdest stuff in there is probably my small collection of 40s music. The Platters and so forth. Some Bing Crosby. Yeah.

Birds singing in the sycamore trees,
Dream a little dream of me |
I generally listen to bands like Bowling for Soup, Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, Four Star Mary, RHCP...
...and then I have such odd occurances in my playlist as Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys and oldschool songs like 'Cottoneye Joe'. Oh yeah, that one's a classic. |
