I was worried for a second there that this was going to be a rebirth of the show. Futurama ended after a pretty good run, in my opinion. But movies... maybe meh, maybe yay, I can't be sure yet.

But finding out that Billy West has a forum; oh hell yeah!

Up here in Canada, Futurama has been back for at least one or two years now. And a new season was made which has been played about three times already.

I have mixed reactions towards the movies. On the one hand, it's great news, because it's Futurama, and Futurama rocks, on the other hand, some episodes are better than others, and some have really stupid scenes/jokes in them, which suggests that maybe the production team is losing their edge. So I don't know if the movies will be as great as I would expect them to be, but here's hoping.

A new season was not made for Futurama. They must just be airing one you haven't seen.

I'd have preferred to see a full comeback of the series, but I guess movies will do. Also, the only place I've seen this reported is on Billy West's forum -- all the other sites link back to it. While Billy West himself is a reliable source, I'm waiting for more official confirmation to celebrate.

Any more Futurama is great news, I'm a huge fan of the original series and I was pretty sad when it was cancelled. I was secretly hoping for something like this after listening to the dvd comentary on the last episode.

As good ol' Dr. Zoidberg would say: Hooray!

Then do you know why when they were first being aired, they were advertised as new episodes?

Just to clarify, some examples of episodes from the season I'm talking about would be the one where Fry, Leela, and Bender become superheroes, Bender gets a sex change to win 5 gold Olympic medals, Lur tries to sever Fry's penis to use it as an aphrodisiac, Professor Farnsworth creates a parallel universe, etc;

It's not a new season now, but I was under the impression that it was new when it first started airing. Before I saw these episodes, I had seen every other one at least 2 or 3 times. The only other explanation I can think of is that for some reason, Teletoon only licensed every season except the last one, and then finally got the new season, and advertised it as new episodes.

Straight to DVD movies? Well that's something I suppose - Every year it seems that Fox is canciling a show I liked from the year previous.. I just hope they keep House.

I never loved Futurama, so I'll probably refrain from purchasing the movies.

They should cancel House and bring back Futurama!

That's the final season, which finished its Fox run in the US in 2003. I don't live in Canada, so I'm not able to comment accurately on this, though. I'm guessing they just delayed the airing of the final season in Canada. They were "new" to you, but not actually new, so to speak.

Fox seems to enjoy destroying my favorite shows... Simpsons sucks now, Futurama is gone, That 70's Show is finished...

Thank God for Family Guy and House.
