Grand Theft Auto 1 is now free to download. Yay for old games that still rock.

See, this is what is suspost to happen when a game becomes unprofitable! Rockstar has the right idea, go them.

I wish more companies did this. Some clutch their old, dead games in an iron grip, even if you can't find a copy on shelves anywhere and they stopped printing it. I also applaud Rockstar on their decision, and hope other companies do this too. Also, I played a demo of this a long time ago, and if I remember right, the first GTA was still an awsome game, so I'll possible get a copy.

Too bad it's out of my download range. Stupid slow modem, oh well, I can buy GTA 1&2 for $20 at the store. My PS1 still works. But still, rockstar does have the right idea about it.

finally a decison i applaud by rock star. more company's should follow suit. I know Koei did that with rotk 1-4, but rock star is much larger then koei

They did that with Doom2 my friends and I felt nostalgic and played Doom 2 multiplayer for the hell of it.

I still have my retail copy of the original GTA. That's pretty cool on their part, in any case though.

What a weird fill-out form. I put in most of the lines, and it wouldn't let me d/l because of my age. I left all the spaces blank except for e-mail and made myself 18 and it worked. Go Rockstar.
