References

There are lots of references to other novels, to scientists, and to television in Nuklear Age. Post your favorites here.

My favorite is when Nuke walks up to Danger: Computer Lady and asks for Rocket Fuel, Earl Gray, Hot. Which is, of course, a reference to Captain Picard's request for Tea, Earl Gray, Hot.

I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but Dr. Menace's Eastern European Accent could be a reference to one of a lot of movie villains that have eastern european accents

Mort D. Kainen (did I get it right? It's been a while) was one of my favorites.

for some reason Dr. Menace felt like a cross over between a James Bond villian and that spy Brock Samson is in love with in "The Venture Bros."

The "El" after Nihel, Arel, Variel, Safriel, Dakael, and Kadael is probably a reference to Kal-El and Jor-El of Superman fame.

Metroville is probably a combination of Smallville and Metropolis
Avalondon is obviously a combination of Avalon and London

I've also always believed that Nuklear Man's role in general is a combination of Superman from DC and Thor from Marvel

I noticed that too, although at first I thought it was a reference to angels, as the names of angels usually end in "el", Gabriel, Michael and so forth. In reference to the superman thing, I think the word "el" is an ancient greek or latin (or some other language) word meaning "god", though I'm not positive.

i liked this reference to hitchhikers guide: Issue 5 - The restaurant at the Beginning of the book
its obviously a reference to the restaurant at the end of the universe

The KI laws are, more likely than not, a reference to Kepler's 3 laws which explain how the planets move around the sun. 2 different subjects but there are 3 of both of them and they both start with the letter "K"...

Nope, the laws of Kopelson Intrinsity are their own thing. Obviously, the idea behind the concept/laws borrows from qi/chi/ki.

I bet Brian will all surprise us and rename the site to Atomikpower.com when Atomik Age comes out.
