There is guild wars, I suppose but im not quite sure it qualifies as a M.M.O.R.P.G.

Or free, as you have to pay for it, if only one time.

Conquer Online. I played it for awhile...I was getting to be one of the stronger people in the server...then I realized I wasn't actually doing anything ~.~ It is free though, and the people on there were fun (I might've just gotten lucky in that aspect).

Maybe two or three out of the list counted as MMOs. But yeah, Guild Wars. Not a whole lot to pick from in the free category that's all that good, but GW is enjoyable.

You could try Larkinor (I think I spelt that right). It's a DOS-like MMORPG where dueling with other players and doing qusts affects your fame level and status. It also has a secrity thing to stop high level players picking on low-level ones. If you don't like that somewhere on the site there's links to other low-buget online multiplayer games.

Urban dead is pretty fun, though I'm not sure it counts as an RPG. You do get experience for doing certain things (mostly killing, but some abilities make it so you XP for doing non-combat things, like healing, turning Zombies back into humans, or even tagging government buildings). You don't increase any 'stats' per se, instead using XP to buy abilities that allow you to do things like barricading buildings, performing surgery, or find NecroTech offices from the street (those are where you get the syringes that turn zeds back to people). While you're a zombie, you also gain XP (XP can go between zed and human abilites, but you can only buy for whichever you are at the time. You don't have to lvl up until you feel like it though) for attacking, though thats it really.

What the fuck?? Haha.

I played RPGWO for a really long time, made by a friend of a friend, and to this day it still amazes me at how many features it has that many other mainstream MMORPGs don't.

Dur! How could I forget Urban Dead? I lose.

Also, Kingdom of Loathing is pretty fun.

If it's any help, I just found this: Daimonin. It looks fairly slick, and it's free.

This game called Martial Heroes, Never got to play it but it looks good and it's free
