Behind the MMORPG
Politics, neh?
Just when we think video-games are a sanctuary...just when we think we know what we're doing, what's going on...jeeze, you'd be hard pressed not to find a case of a company fucking its customers over in some way these days. |
damn, that's some cold blooded shit!
I wonder about the legalities involved with this, is it possible to file a class action lawsuit in this case? They deserve to get spanked for this, and the CEO needs to be fired immediately for such unethical practices. From ENRON to Endor eh? |
The...bloody... hell. That's not even marketing, that's just illegal. If you promise a product and don't deliver, isn't there some law that says that that's suable. Because, seriously, that's ridiculous. If you need time, just postpone the game, don't steal money from people because you want more money, for an unfinished product. It's bad enough when the people give you a bad game for money, but giving them a game that's going to be completed at a later date...
That was just a rant, but damn, you'd think making a whole new level of hell for these guys is enough, but a second new level? |
The funny thing is game companies do this all the time, and we're just noticing it.
This is why I wish there were more quality independent MOGs. |
EQ2 = Lame version of WoW. Now it's just more reason not to buy it.
EQ doesn't need stupid marketing ploys. People ar so obsessed with that game, the only reason I would put out the expansions early is because people are getting bloodthirsty and want new stuff. But that's just if it was me. |
A little biased, there, Skeleton?
Yeah I knew about this when I was playing EverQuest, when Planes came out. They intentionally told us that they 'fixed bugs' on the last levels, and I innocently said, "Wait, didn't that come out, like, last year?" I, too, am surprised there has been no lawsuit. People don't know about it, though, so that could be why. Re-statement; Perhaps this is why, if someone who WASN'T SOE took over Star Wars Galaxies, and made it so that way there were GMs again (something Verant, while they owned EQ, seemed to actually do), the game would be entertaining. Imagine, if you will, GMs randomly wandering around. They would not answer to bug reports, but instead would just be like everyone else, fighting and playing, except they're also Jedi. Now wrap your head around the idea of these people being the very few amount of reclusve Jedi in the game, and occasionally they will pick padawans, who can then level as Jedi. Can you imagine - just perhaps, maybe - a bit of control over who is a jedi in Star Wars world? Perhaps? Maybe? fucking SOE... |

Do you know how that conversation goes? Crackhead: "Hey Crack Dealer, you dealed me bad crack! I'm gonna call the cops on your ass!" Crack Dealer: "Well, Crackhead, you certainly could call the cops on my ass. And then I would go to jail, and you would have to try and figure out where you are going to get crack. OR - I could pull my dick out of my pants, and you could blow it for me. And then maybe, if you do a real good job, I might just let you have some crack! Tell you what, I'll just go on ahead and pull out my dick while you think it over." You can probably go ahead and figure out how that story ends for yourself. |
I want to make sweet love to your mouth because that's where the funny comes from.

Too funny not to sig.

Not the kind who go, "Hey, what the fuck? They didn't give me my goddamn expansion? Fuckers!" While I get the idea, because it's a funny way to say it, the fact that disgruntled people haven't done anything is either a show that all of them are the so-called crackheads, or that every goddamn one of them is too lazy to find out. I really don't think that every one of them is so hopelessly hooked on EQ that they can't fathom not praising the ground SOE walks on. I was fifteen at the time. It's not like you can blame me for not filing a lawsuit against an MMO I played in my offtime. |
