You want criticism? Alright, you smell funny, you don't shower enough, and you have the fashion sense of an ape!

Really though... that's a cool picture, I like it, and I assume the kind of 'broken line'ishness is just from sizing it down... just one thing, her hair almost has a seymour thing goin' on there where it spikes up a bit on each side... but it's good.

It seems to be a very decent start to a picture, Dante. That seems to be what you have done.

You appear to have a good grasp of proportions as pertaining to the features on a face, their distances from eachother, the sculpture of the chin, etc.

Very good. All of it. The eye on the left is especially good. It is in proportion, at the right angle and is in line with the other eye. This can be very hard to do, as all you young artists out there know.

I also like your treatment of the hair. However, it is with the hair that I would like to give you some constructive criticism.

The hair is too busy. There are toomany lines that make it up, thus aggravating the eye. The rest of the picture suffers as a result. To obtain a better result, my advice would be to draw the hair with less strokes, or really none at all. Draw the outline, or the frame, of the hair and give it a few strokes to show the direction the hair falls. This way the eye isn't distracted from the rest of the face which is, at this stage (before coloring), very stark and plain.

A good start to a picture, nonetheless.

(Note: Undestanding that this picture might just be a sketch, my advice perhaps doesn't 'ring' as true, but it might be benificial in future sketches to draw the hair with just an outline to become fammiliar with how it looks and what you can do with it.)

No seriously, I'll keep that in mind.

Actually, I kinda like the 'busy' hair, although it looks kinda crappy after being shrunk... or scanned... whichever it was that made the lines all look weird. I also rather like the eyes. One thing on the hair though... it comes off the back of the head kinda weird... or it might just be the shrinking thing again. It also splits kinda oddly in the back on the bottom.

You can't draw, you said! You need help, you said! either you copied that, or you got those books I recommended. Or you CAN draw and you just tried to learn our secrets...

Who cares what it is, your drawing is cool.

I'd say it looks good. Most likely looked better larger, but that's what happons with having to shrink it down.

I kinda agree with Krylo. I like the busy hair. While you might need to make it a little less busy, don't completely get rid of the shiny-ness of it. ^_^
