Silent Hill THE MOVIE!!!
As I'm sure half of all gamers in Fantasia and beyond are dying to hear about... SILENT HILL WILL SOON BE UPON US!!!!
Yes the critically acclaimed game based featuring nurses who pistol whipped patients and a boss who was a giant face! Yep aspects about it will soon be implemented into a killer movie that I'm sure everyone will say something nasty about... Though I'm not an undercover film agency questionererer or a member of a top secret agency attempting to view the general opinion of the public........ I'm not really... I still would like to hear your views. |
On a side note I love Wikipedia...

From what I can see this will be pretty...okay.
I've seen "brotherhood of the wolf" also by Christophe Gans, and it's...pretty bad, though it features good cinematography and effects. Fortunately, the Konami Crew has been working VERY closely with the project, including the usual composer for the games; Akira Yamaoka *inspiration* Anyway, I'm a little miffed about the removal of the character of Lesa, the replacement of Harry with some wench, and the changing of important names... Otherwise, I think it'll be good for what it is, and I will do my best not to consider it a botched adaptation of the first game, when obviously it contains elements of mostly the first three games, (and maybe a little of SH4) |
I've seen "DJ Starchild: The Movie" also by DJ Starchild and it's ... well, it's no Brotherhood of the Wolf.
I really enjoyed that movie. The cinematography in that movie was excellent. Better than that, the way they used surround sound was really quite great. And while I'm not looking forward to the Silent Hill movie, I did enjoy the first game. If Christopher Gans can envoke the same mood in the movie that the game did, it might have a small chance to survive being a box office bomb. But not by much. |
Brotherhood of the wolf was something I could stand, though, the ridiculous addition of completely unnecessary martial arts scenes was...painful, and a lot of the dialoge was...lamer than a leper.

Starky, how dare you bad mouth a movie in which we all had the pleasure of seeing monica bellucci topless, I've open hand slapped people for less, so don't push your luck!
Anywho, video game movies are the kinda things that should be handed to fans who are in the movie industry, if christopher gans had never picked up a copy of silent hill before he signed to the movie he'll probably stay truer to the script then the game. Sure he may pull the eerie effects and aspects from the game but it wont have the same overall feeling. Which is where movies like house of the dead and Bloodrayne went super wrong. Also I'm very dissapointed that evilness didn't supply a link to the doom movie. Never have I seen a movie that made me laugh harder then that piddly piece of crap. And I've seen team america world police. Everybody has aids indeed. |
We might be okay, the director seems have done competent work in the past.

It was pretty good, then. I just took some of the crappy dialogue and confusing plot devices and said, "Well, it's not worse than Akira's ending." |
Just wondering what was the intended release date? and the rating?

I was watching the trailer, and was going to comment that, while it looked like a movie and not a video game movie, I had very little hope for it and that it would probably bomb because years of this crap has jaded me.
Then I saw Pyramid Head and okay I'll go see it. |
