Who is the smartest?
 

I'm sick and tired of not having a thread for this, because it keeps popping up everywhere, much like Burkion's Thief/RM thing, and the BM jacking off thing.. anyway.

Who do you think is the smartest Light Warrior? or even character, period?
Personally, I think RM is a lot smarter than he makes himself out to be. and Fighter's starting to really show off his intellegence now. Thief is also incredibly smart. The only Light Warrior that could be "dumb" is, ironically enough, BM, right?

Okay, RM is alot smarter then he makes himself out to be, BUT! He can only be as smart as his INT stat allows him to be (so he gets more XP for playing the part) and although it better bloody be high, he is still bound by this law...

Although I will accept it was said out of shock...

Fighters ability of draining the inteligence of the enemy, makes this debate more difficult...

If you mean relative to the enemy (in say a battle of whits) then I would say Fighter is the smartest, no doubt... but if you say, they all did an I.Q. test then that would lead me to the third character...

Thief IMO is the smartest of the group (if not in a battle of whits), but he doesnt apply himself... as the sole creater of Ultra Fine Print (or whatever) you gotta agree he does what he does well... so as long as he applied himself to it, he could do anything, but unfortunatly all he thinks about is cash (and Red mage, of course) so although he is smart, his knoledge is small (RM wins in that department)

Black mage has proven time and time again, that he isnt as smart as a Black Mage should be, I think the most accurate way to describe him, acutally comes from his mouth... This whole page describes his inteligence to me, while under pressure anyway, when hes relaxed hes better, but not significantly

Fighter is actually the smartest, he's just incredibly naive and doesn't want to use his intellect as well.

You can blame some of his stupidity on being naieve, but there are some downright stupid parts that can only come from lack of inteligence... not saying Fighter is dumb, some times he comes up with surprisingly smart answers, but so does RM, and BM, and Thief
The only reason people notice Fighters more is its unsuspected...

Fighter is, to put it simply, an idiot savant. He is extroidinarily intelligent in his areas of expertise, but significantly lacks brain function in others. Sometimes he has sharp understanding in those areas as well, but that's beyond the point.

RM, I don't actually recognize his inteligence as a whole. However, he seems to have a rather effective memory when it matters.

Thief and BM are both well learned in their respective fields. They are both also rather inteligent in other areas, and lacking in others.

Overall, neither of the LWs are dumb, they just have been put into enough situation that not only do their character flaws show, but their intellectual flaws as well.

I would agree with you if you didnt put "extraordinarily inteligent" Inteligent is fine, Smarter then others is fine but this is not some 'golden child' of brains...
If he was incredibablly inteligent, I dont see how his special ability would work, if he wasnt really uninteligent...
He HAS shown signs of being really smart, but generally he is incredibally stupid, in my opinion anyway...

This shouldn't even be a debated question. Fighter is the smartest. Brian has said so.

There is no 'smartest.' Each of the LWs have brains and skills in their own respective areas. None of them are over-all smarter than any of the others. When Brian said that Fighter was the smartest, he probably meant that overall Fighter could comprehend a situation and analyze it better than the other LWs warriors. However, does he know about arcane spells? Can he swindle someone? Does have a massive storage of DnD knowledge? No, he merely has overall a better mind for rare, unique, and startingly knowledge. I'm sure the Master was just trying to dispel all of the 'Fighter is dumb' crap, as well as describe the above facts.

Isolated cases of extreme inteligence doesnt make somebody the smartest...
Although I am looking at it with the fourth dimention...
