Riviera: The promised Land

I personally love this game for many of its unbelievably unique components (styles and stuff like that) But I haven't been able to get all of the special items. and in the Faces collection I seem to be missing two of them!!! ARGUITH! its really depressing me. Someone else who is equally addicted please help me!

I seriously wish I had ever gotten past Chapter Five... I can't believe I restarted the game TWICE. First time, I messed up on something on Chapter Two, and second time, I forgot the bow AND lost the pic where the girls are falling.

You did know that the point of the game was to replay it several times right? Its impossible to get everything on the first try, thats why there are four possible endings and I read somewhere about a fifth possible ending too. You should play it again. From the sounds of it, You have potential.

I've been playing this game for sometime, I got to Chp. 7 and yea, my people weren't up to it, the practice battles alone were hard as crap, so I went back and am retraining to make my people stronger, the only thing that got me stuck was the forest of illusion thing, I could never figure that out :/

Shoraru 02-13-2006 09:25 PM

Oh thats really quite easy.

Spoilerifics below:

Look at each of the colors. The object of it is to go from Spring to Summer to Autumn to Winter. Each color represents a different season. Hint: White is winter, Brown is Fall, Purple is Summer, and Spring is Green. Each direction has a season has three possible exits. One to each of the other seasons. Look at the post if you have to and from there locate yourself through the seaons. When you have done it correctly, a shimmer of light later and another post will appear telling you how to move. Finish as it asks you and your home free!

Fun game. I maxed out my chars whenever I found a new useable weapon... but I still didn't get many S rankings out of it. Maybe I should have maxed them out more. Got fun near the end with all the really cool fights, even though I was unprepared for the last few bosses.

Y'know, the whole game seemed to me like a series of mini-boss and boss fights. Heh.

Shoraru 02-14-2006 07:51 PM

Interesting view of the game, I saw it more of a Norse Mythology ripoff that in someways paralleled with the war in Iraq. Oh and use Einhinjir more oftenly for S-ranked battles.

Yeah, I've been playing the game a little more recently.

There be spoilers ahead.

Ye be warned!

Just got down with an awful boss battle with Malice a few nights ago. It wouldn't of been so bad, except for the fact I accidently used Einherjar's overdrive instead of the one I meant to use, so I broke my overdrive bar less than halfway through the battle. ( >_< ) This led me to use up far more of my strongest healing item and my strongest sword than I had wanted to.

On top of that, diresta (or however you spell it) didn't do much damage...not compared to what Mimic Ray would of done). Einherjar isn't very useful in Grim Angel fights.

Althane 02-15-2006 08:17 PM

Disaresta, I believe.

And yes, he isn't very useful. >>

However, in all other fights, he kicks butt. He was the most powerful character in my party (motly 'cause I trained him the most. He was ALWAYS in my fights)

Hmm.. I mostly used three or four weapons, while keeping the rest of the space open for training weapons. The REALLY powerful ones I just... well, left there. *shrug*

I can't play this game because Atlus decided us unwashed Americans wouldn't buy it and only shipped thirty copies to the States.

Just because only two of us played Ogre Battle 64 doesn't mean people can't be converted! Why have you forsaken us, Atlus?!

This has been the first game I can't find a copy of in a long time, here I thought Gamestop, EB Games, all those folks were infallible, but even the one clerk at the one place couldn't find a copy for himself, I was told!
