Lunar: RP Sign-Up
Alternate Titles: Eternal Story, Blue Silver, or any other horrid combinations except I added a 'Complete' at the end.
This RP will take place in the Lunar universe, roughly 500 years after the events of Eternal Blue. The Goddess Althena has been exposed as gone, but the people have lifted the Dragons to the mantles of (demi-)gods, and gone so far as to base entire civilizations off of their image. The Dragonmaster is a worldwide hero, a prime example of herosim and honor instead of a goddess bodyguard, and is preparing to make his annual trip to the grand city of Meribia, where the yearly Dragon Festival is taking place. Here our PCs will meet and the moon of Lunar might begin its radical change... The Four Dragons - As there is no unifying force on the planet anymore, people naturally sought guidance from the most powerful beings left, the Dragons. Over the centuries people naturally became embedded within the realm of a particular Dragon, adopting their nature and practices, until the current time where people can naturally proclaim themselves "Followers of the [Blank] Dragon". Although their exist many cities where the multitude of intermingled followers have produced a nuetral enviroment, each sect of people have a set of beliefs and way of life. Red Dragon - Followers of the Red Dragon have adopted to the mindset of flames, but not in a purely physical way; their realm is that of the mind, constantly inventing new machinations and contraptions as long as their interest holds. This can be seen especially prevalent in their home city, built on and around the actual volcano of the Red Dragon. Although a naturally dangerous location for any amount of people, these followers have adapted and use the tremedous heat to power their steamwork transportation and girdwork. Outside of their home city the Red Dragonites are the world's premiere inventors and smithees, although a tad eccentric on the whole. Their technology, although advanced, is largely intended to ease normal life and not completely offensively based. While certain devices are capable of attacking (handheld volt guns or flamethrowers come to mind), the majority are much more practical. Black Dragon - The Black Dragon is the premiere source of magical power on Lunar, and as such its followers are almost exclusively magic users or accomplished scholars. Only followers of the Black Dragon are capable of using magic, as they are the only ones capable of receiving training, but non-users still seek the Followers as prized teachers. At some point in their life, all Followers live on Neo-Vane, where they are trained in magic and lore. Because of this isolation, a good majority of Black Dragonites are somewhat snooty and rude to those not given their extensive teachings. White Dragon - While the other Followers see their respective Dragons in a respectable or endearing light, the Followers of the White Dragon truly believe and worship the Dragon as their god. As such, they have 'recomissioned' the various Althena temples into 'Dragon Churches'. Most of the priests/priestesses/healers are White Dragonites, while many of the others are members of the enormous and well trained military. Equipped with a strong sense of moral honor, the Followers try to live as piously as they can and be truly good people. They are ruled by the High Priest who lives in a castle-kingdom at the entrance to the White Dragon's cave. Blue Dragon - With the other Followers taking up the magical, technical, and militaristic/religous aspects of life, you might think the pickings would be slim for the remainder...and you would be right. The Followers of the Blue Dragon are the most disorganized, although their scattering is entirely of their own option. Blue Dragonites can be found in nearly every town, or set up in a small nomad community, or putting on a small show for the crowds. Basically their lives are very and happily Boheminian, and most places accept them as welcome guests. Although this might seem to imply they have no cultural respect, several island towns have been set up to teach the not-forgotten arts of their ancestors, from their own magics of illusions to ancient fighting styles. Yay! First character to join! I'm a big fan of Eternal Blue... and I've been planning on making a Lunar RP myself, and now I'll just join this one!
Character void. |
...Hmm, although I'm glad that somebody wants to join, I really can't let that through. I guess I should have specified that I wanted human players, as in that current incarnation of yours you're basically a pet. Also, I am not a fan of 'but no one really knows' pasts, as it just leaves the door open for all sorts of shenanigans.
Also, I forgot to mention a few things I thought up at work. 1) Nobody has seen the Dragons, except for the Dragonmaster and the leaders of the respective Followers. Each Cave, with the exception of the Blue Dragon, is basically guarded by the home city of their Followers. 2) Being a Follower isn't forced perse, and their do exist small towns that have no true affiliation. In cases like that, where everything is self contained and not really entrenched in Follower politics, they tend to be assimilated into the nearest focal point. However, as there are many Churches throughout the world, small towns built near them are declared as White Dragonites, which contributes to their more massive numbers. 3) If you display magical abilities your Followship is overridden and you get shipped off to Neo Vane and are an automatic Black Dragon Follower. Magic heredity is akin to Harry Potter; Magical parents have a higher chance of producing magical offspring, and 'Normal' humans have a chance to birth a magically-inclined baby. |
I've got a question.
Would the followers of the White Dragon simply be priests and such, or could a Paladin be allowed? If so, I'd like to be a Paladin that's a Follower of the White Dragon. Just going to get it approved before making a profile. |

[QUOTE] Darn. Alright... I'll have to re-think my character, then. |
Paladins are acceptable. They are simply holy warriors, something the White Dragon would heartily adore.
Also, just a little character comparison to help: Red Dragon - Myght and Taben(just minus the evil on the Taben bit) Black Dragon - Mia, Nash, Lemina White Dragon - Alex, Leo, Jessica, Ronfar Blue Dragon - Jean |
Name: Michael Gillthorn
Dragon: White Dragon Age: 25 Appearance: Has blonde hair that goes down to his shoulders, and piercing blue eyes. His body is the stereotypical good looking holy warrior (Think Angelo from Dragon Quest 8.) He wears a full suit of white and silver armor, with no helmet. On his back is a long golden cape, and on his waist is a longsword. Weapons/Equipment: Full body armor sans helmet, longsword, and cape. Bio: Will make one...eventually. |
Question: Have Nall and Ruby died and been replaced? Because I don't see someone who used to run a band of orphan quasi-thieves as enjoying followers who are super pious on the order of Leo (especially considering he seemed to dislike/hate the super pious false Althena), or like he would enjoy/permit people to deface churches built to honor Luna/Althena with his image. And... well, I don't know, Ruby sorta fits as leader of those types, I guess, if she managed to calm her ass the fuck down with the constant PMSing.

Oh. My. GAWD. Raiden's not using the name "Thomas". AT ALL!!!
Name: Chrysalis (Chrys for short) Silvash Dragon: Blue Age: 24 Appearance: A slender, slightly-built woman, Chrys is acrobatic, to say the least. Her lithe form and average stature makes her petite. Her thick, dark hair reaches waist-length and is normally braided tightly, the ends of those rich tresses dyed a deep ocean blue. Wisps of hair frame a well-tanned face inset with piercing grey eyes. Her slight, lithe frame is clothed in dark blue, and she normally wears mens' clothing when not performing her arts - just for the sake of comfort. Her performance attire varies, but always is brightly coloured and attractive, showing off her gentle curves. Weapons/Equipment: an assortment of throwing knives, a small satchel to carry her belongings, a long hunter's knife, and a waterskin. Bio: Yeah, I'm going to follow Raiden on this one. Bio up later. |

EDIT: In case that sounds too cryptic, the various Followers ultimately depend on their leaders for what the Dragon wants. Of course, they put varying amounts of importance on that word; The High Priest is basically a Pope-esque figure, his word being law. The Red Dragonites have a lead inventor who they view as the smartest, the Blue Followers are too scattered to really care, and the Black Dragonites still follow the Premier of the Magic Guild-way of leadership. |
