They're doing it again. Damn it!
Yep, they're doing it again. Those damn game makers are trying to squeeze all the money they can out of me this spring.
How, might you ask? Just some titles like: -Dragon Quest 8 -Drakenguard 2 -Kingdom Hearts 2 -Grandia III And those are just some of the sequels! Yes, this is a good time for PS2 owners, bad time for my wallet. |
I got Dragon Quest 8, and I'm gonna get Kingdom Hearts 2.
I've heard of the Gradia series, but never seen it. Should I have seen it? And I've never heard of Drakenguard. Should I have heard of it? Does anyone even care? No, all who care are my wallet and me. |

Oh, and KH 2 was a given when I first played the game.(KH 1 that is, not KH 2) |

Did we really need a Drakenguard 2? I thought 1 sold like crap. I mean that in a bad way. I'm going to be getting KH2, so I can't really disagree with that. I hear GIII is good, so I'll tentatively agree. |
The first Drakengard didn't do all that well, but go look up Drakengard 2. Ubisoft has been making me very pleased lately, and after looking at the stuff for this one, it's very good.

*smack* Grandia II was one of the greatest games for the Dreamcast. If the third one is even partly as good as the second one, I will own that game. |
Grandia III, though the story apparently is just another standard J-RPG, the battle system is supposed to be pretty much the same as II, with some minor improvements that don't take anything away.
...yeah, I'm getting it. |
Grandia II was frickin' sweet. Originally for the Dreamcast, but it got ported to the PS2 as well. Grandia I was for the PS1, also pretty good if you can get past the pixelated graphics (it was the PS1, after all). Grandia Extreme blew. Same fighting engine, but the other stuff was poo. The combat system in this series rules, though, so it might be worth a rental.
The only thing I don't really care for about the Grandia series is the Mana Egg system. I wish they'd replace it with a class based magic system or something...I hate futzing with those damn eggs all the time. |
I loved Grandia I on PS1, Grandia 2 on the PC
Gandia 1 Storyline didnt impress me so much, although I did like the mana system in the first one, not necesarily how you had to find eggs and crap, but how it gets leveled up by being used, I always love that in games... Grandia 2 Storyline was bloody awesome... But im really into that sort of thing, it just tickled my fantasy... the main thing that makes you smile is the battle system, at least when it came out for the PS1 it was innovative, ammazing... I would suggest getting Grandia II at least (its only 10 bucks in Australia, which is bloody cheap) so you can find out you love it |
I love having my birthday in the spring, just in time for all those sweet, sweet new springtime games. KHII is on my WANTED list. Any game that involves destruction, Donald Duck, Vivi, Steamboat Willie, Auron, and Pirates of the Caribbean (<3) is pure gaming gold in MY book.
|
Ah, HKII will not be in my game library for some time probably, as I am going to spend all of my money this coming monday on a couple of CDs and DoA4. Damn you, X-Box 360, and your $60 games! Damn you, I say!
