Calling All Composers!

Calling all composers! I am looking for composers of the Midi variety. I run a Website dedicated to Online RPG's, and I like to use Background music to set the tone of each game. I've come across a lack of Midis of certain series / games / anime / etc. and am in need of composers. I can't offer much aside from adoration and crediting up the wazoo. Also, I am good with sprites and images (not the greatest, but good), so if you need anything, like a Banner, a custom Sprite, or an Avatar with a unique flair, you'll have top of the list priority. I appreciate anyone who is interested and is willing to post here. Also, if you're an original composer (as in, you make your own tunes) you have a place of need as well!

Also, in case you are a composer, but do not have a program to make Midis with, I have a free version of Tabit as well as a nice tutorial by Silverline to teach you how to sue it. If you just need the program, feel free to inquire.

Now: if you are still interested in helping after all my blathering, here are the current assignments I need people to help me with:

Full Metal Alchemist for Mimic Artists (no offense, cause Mimes in FF rule)
(I have the OST's if you need the original song)

...and...

For Original Artists, see below.

For original Artists, I need songs of a similar style: gothic choir-esque music. Something that would fit an RPG based entirely on Angels warring against Devils (think Dogma, only very serious).

Once again I thank everyone for their time and I hope people can come to my rescue.

EDIT: For the original artists, the music would be remniscent of One-Winged Angel from Final Fantasy 7, that genre so to speak.

Sure thing, just lay the assignment down for me and i'll see what I can do. Due to my sites latest revamp and the creation of certain sections with multi-line php coding, I might take some time with it (a week or so, but it'll be done ASAP).

Hehehe, s'ok. Midi... hmm... well, here's a text-book definition:

Quote:

MID·I Audio pronunciation of "MIDI" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (md)
n. pl. MID·Is

1. A standard for representing musical information in a digital format.
2. Software that conforms to this standard, used for composing and editing electronic music.
As for my interpretation, it's basically digitally created music using a synth speaker. It could be concidered the opposite of an MP3. MP3's allow for full vocal recording and are large in size due to their quality. A MIDI is litterally KB in side (and rarely more than 300), and while they can't produce vocals, they prodce an almost endless stream of Instruments, including false choir which is sometimes used for vocals (flutes also work as well). I don't know if that clears anything up, I'd suggest going here: http://vgmusic.com/ and listening to their files to understand what a MIDI sounds like.

As for sound altering, you'd need something thatc an record in MIDI format. If you get what a MIDI is, I can offer a download of TabIt, a program which turns Instrumental Tabs (from Guitar to Piano) into a TabIt file, which if sent to me, I can then make into a Midi.

Hopfully that explination helped, if not, then I hope someone who comes across this thread can shed their own light on the subject.

Also, on the idea of holding off on your request: I appreciate it, it'll give me tiem to catch up on ym sites renovations so when it does come, i'll do it quickly.

I have Finale, but I want more information on just what you are asking of me.

Are you asking me to write original music, or to transpose already written music to a midi?

EDIT: I just noticed you are indeed looking for original composers. Okay, what type of songs are you talking about here?

misterchainsaw 02-21-2006 08:34 PM

Ha! ok well that godd news now i don't need insturment to create beautifull music... anyways i will find a program that make midi's and uh well when im done making it or them(depends if i suceed) send them to you...hope thats what you want.......

Okay, cool, just tell me what your planning on working on, so I can make a note to myself (and add it to the top post).

Okay, actually I need both, and both are equal in importance. If you want to transpose msuic for me, the tracks I need done are at the top and there is a link to the directory containing the MP3 files of those songs.

If you are doing original music, I need gothicy, choir-esque music remnant of One Winged Angel. f you want more inspiration, think of an RPG involving epic battles between Angels and Devils... since that's what they are needed for.

Your welcome for the clearing up. As for TabIt, if you want to use it, there is a downloadable ZIP in the same directory as the music available for anyone who wants it.

Thanks for the responses people, not keep 'em coming and heres to hopinhg for great work! :D

While I can't help you per say, I met a guy on the internet who was really into making Midis. From what I can tell, he really isn't active, but if any of his existing Midis work for your project, you could prolly request usage...
