Backstory:
In a familiar Kingdom known by many as the Mushroom Kingdom the people live there happily, ruled by their Princess Peach and protected by their heroes, the Mario Brothers (and their friends!). Sure Peach would get kidnapped every so often, but with Mario on the job, the people of mushroom kingdom lived very happy and safe lives.

That is, until one fateful day Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and everyone else the Mushroom Kingdom had come to know as their protectors mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Blaming that rascle Bowser and his troops, the Mushroom Kingdom must send out it's best and brightest warriors.... who, thanks to the long running peace and comfort of the Mushroom Kingdom, aren't always the best and brightest warriors (after all, with Mario and co taking care of everything from Bowser attacks to talking swords trying to take over the earth, who really thought there would be need for a backup force?). In any case, these warriors must step forward and save the Mushroom Kingdom for the good of all.

However, on the other side of the story, Bowser has gone missing as well, causing his troops to set out in search of their master (who, no doubt, was kidnapped by that pesky Mario) Unbeknownst to our heroes, but knownst to us, these two groups will have to bind forces to find their heroes and possibly save their world as they know it.

I've been contemplating this RP for awhile and finally decided I might as well go for it. The Mario games are generally light-hearted and humorous, so I am going to try and keep that same feel for this RP.

Character Creation:
Each of you will make a character (using one of the races/creatures found in the Mario world. (it would be preferred if you use a more common creature (like goomba, koopa troopa, etc) but it's okay if you use something else (if you DO use something that isn't as common, please provide a link to some information on the creature. (NO humans preferably)
You can choose which side you would like to start on (citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom or Pawns of Bowser) and your race should somewhat reflect what side you are on. (Toads generally aren't followers of Bowser, Magikoopas are generally not followers of Princess Peach. But I'm willing to let pretty much anything work as long as you provide a good enough reason for it in your Bio) If I have too many on one side, I may ask you to switch to the other side. (also, I'm thinking more of the world in the later Marios, where more than just Toads are "good guys", so if you want to be from the Mushroom kingdom you don't HAVE to be a toad) Also, it would be preferable if you were a character that could have a long time role in the RP (Pirana plants don't really move much, and bob-ombs kind of die the first time they attack)

Also, if you are from the Mushroom Kingdom, you will be part of their "elite (backup) forces" (who aren't that 'elite', because of getting lazy from being protected by Mario and co all of the time) The same pretty much goes for Bowser's minions, so just keep that in mind while making your character's bio.

My character:
Name: Tila
Race: Toad (female)
Description: Tila has bright yellow spots on her mushroom top (the 'hat' thing (what is that called anyway?)) with curly strawberry blonde hair, and a yellow dress that matches her mushroom top.
Weapon/Attack: She uses a Pogo stick (which she has lovingly named "Mario") to do a "jump" attack on her enemies.
Beginning Side: Mushroom Kingdom
Bio: Tila won the rank of "general" of the Mushroom Kingdom Elite through a drinking contest at the local tea-tavern (I told you they didn't take this kind of stuff very seriously) and spent most of her days doing her "duties" around the castle, which mostly consisted of stalking Mario (the real one, not the pogo stick) obsessively when he was around, and sitting around being bored when he wasn't.
Extra: Tila is obsessively in "love" with Mario and due to this, she dislikes Princess Peach quite a bit.

Name: Bonar
Race: Hammer Brother
Description: Bonar like most other Hammer Brothers wear smooth black helmets with white chin straps, and have smooth black shells instead of hex-plated green or red ones.
Weapon/Attack: Heavy Sledge - Bigger than normal Hammer Brother weapons, the Heavy Sledge defines Bonar and those like him who wield these as lethal melee units. Basically, Bonar wields his hammer less like a traditional Hammer Brother and more like a Super Mario Brother.
Beginning Side: Bowser's Minions
Bio: Bonar used to throw hammers, but since these tactics have lead to his defeat to Mario three times by Fireball, being knocked off the block he was standing on from underneath, and finally by getting hit by a hammer used by Mario wearing a Hammer Brother suit, Bonar has taken to mastering a more close range and brutal way to stopping this seemingly invincible plumber. Since taking up the Heavy Sledge, Bonar has never gotten the chance to take on Mario in combat yet. Bonar looks up to Roy Koopa as a role model and once had a crush on Wendy O Koopa which he promptly abandoned knowing he'd never get with a girl that awesome. Since Bowser has turned up missing, Bonar thinks finding him might help him impress both Roy and Wendy in a single thorough search.
Extra: Since switching to the Heavy Sledge, Bonar has lost the ability to magically produce little hammers to throw at people that he used to have.

Yes, I know. "I can't believe Armored Bishoujo is playing a male character for once." I usually play males when I'm playing monsters.

Name: Fugu
Race: Mushroom Person (the term "Toad" is so ineloquent. -_-)

Description: His mushroom cap is black with a single white spot at the very top center, he wears a black kimono thing and sandles, and has a thin, long mustache.

Weapon/attack: Fugu has meditated on the art of flame for many years, his daily training consisting of starting each day with a glass of fire flower tea, as such he's developed the ability to create fire with his bare hands to differing effects.

beginning side: Fugu holds at least a cursory allegiance to the mushroom kingdom, though he hasn't interacted with society at large for quite some time.

Bio: Fugu has spent many years in solitude amongst the mountains, contemplating the deeper meanings of life and honing his skills against the wild goombas and pirana plants that infest the area. He is a quiet and reserved mushroom with a stoic demeanor.

He has recently decided to search out Mario, the greatest warrior of his time, and challenge him to an honorable duel to test his martial skills. He returned to the mushroom kingdom only to find that the legendary hero, as well as all his allies have gone missing mysteriously. Fugu sets out to find the vanished plumber and face him in combat.

extra: using a Mario RPG like skill approach, fugu would havee access to the fireball skills that Mario had in that game, as well as a few different ones. Like a flaming punch and a fire bomb technique, that sort of thing.

Name: Shyster
Race: ShyGuy (Hells ya)
Description: Your everyday red colored shyguy. Except for the grass skirt and giant bamboo stick.
Weapon/Attack: The Bamboo stick of death! Actually, its just a regular bamboo stick. It has really long reach and can be used to poke people with from a distance.
Beginning Side: Bowser I guess.
Bio: Shyster is really a nickname. He was born as Boranos, but no one wants to be Boranos, so he called himself Shyster. He was born to be like regular shyguys, ones that just kinda run around in circles and annoy Yoshis. But Shyster wouldn't have that. Instead he took up a Hawaiian and Japanish way of stopping Mario. So after gathering his stuff, Bowser dissappeared, and now Shyster goes off and prepares his bamboo stick for his great encounter with Mario.
Extra: He probably can do the many jobs of Shyguys. What they all are I have no idea.

Name: Kumin Balkshine
Race: Paratroopa
Description: Like the average Paratroopa, Kumin is basically a Koopa with wings. His skin is a dark yellow and his eyes glitter black, with a large but thin shell in a green color. He shows no extraordinary features except his wings, which are long, white and delicate with large and slim feathers. He has a tail slightly longer than most Paratroopas or Koopas, and most of the time he seems cheerful. All he wears is his shell, a brown leather belt with a brown leather buckle, and a wooden club. Yes, a wooden club, a very light and small club.
Weapon/Attack: Kumin has his small, light club that has a thick hide but is hollow inside. He can use it to bash his enemies lightly on the head, and can manuever in the air without it holding him back. He can also dive down from the air and try at throwing a punch, but his kicks are no good since he rarely uses them.
Beginning Side: Mushroom Kingdom
Bio: Kumin was never part of the rowdier crowds in Koopas. Born in a small and peaceful home, he found that his wings developed very well because all he ever did try to do as a youngster was fly. His father had always told him to try walking sometime, but he never did bother. Kumin learned to fly early, he learned to dive early, and he was always chased back home by an older brother every time he flew too far. His older brother, named Rondo, was a nice brother full of courage and strength, but he was too bulky to fly as elegantly as him. Because Kumin loved to explore, he developed a strong and stubborn sense of curiosity, and was never able to pull himself away from any areas of interest. There was once a day where he was walking along a path with his brother, Rondo, who wanted him to learn to acutally use his legs once in a while. As they were walking, Rondo walked up to a tree in boredom, kicked it with impressive force, and shook the tree so much that a club fell out the branches. It nearly hit him on the head, but it knocked against the shell and bounced off onto the ground. Both were startled at the unusual object, but Rondo picked it up and handed it to his younger brother without a thought, saying that Kumin needed it more than him. Rondo was not an adventurer, for he preferred to stay home and would rather read a book than tumble in the clouds and plummet to the earth, whatever he meant. They grew older, and Kumin grew wiser, but his curiosity and sense of adventure grew. He never knew his mother, but he never thought about her. When he had heard many things about an inspiring man named Mario, he was suddenly struck with the desire to travel all throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. He asked his father, who said that he was old enough to care for himself, and was even urged out a little by Rondo. Glad he wasn't asked to stay, Kumin flew away and went into the clouds, looking down below at the earth, wondering what there was to see.
Extra: Kumin loves his family and loves his club. He can't possibly replace it with a different object.

Name: Daniel
Race: Koopa
Description: A magikoopa who is currently researching powerful spells and magical machinery for King Bowser. He has an unnatural love for chinese food.
Weapon/Attack: Magic Wand (shoots the sparkly beams)
Beginning Side: Bowser
Bio:Daniel is the extremely intelligent yet unwise wizard of Koopa's castle. He has recently grown to a very prestigious position in the Royal Wizard's Court. He has terrifying dreams of being jumped on by Mario and Luigi and wants them to stop. Currently no spell is powerful enough to stop that.
Extra: Expect magic spells for Daniel to cast. He's great at building and research.

Everyone looks okay so far.

Except MyrddinSilvermane, the character is okay, could you just give me a few examples of what spells he will/can cast? (Magikoopa was the one race I was considering not allowing just because of how much power some of them have, so I just want to check. ^^ )

I'm basing my character on the Paper Mario rules. Where Bob-ombs can explode repeatedly with no ill effects.

Race: Bob-omb
Description: A big Bob-omb with a big black mustache and one scared eye.
Weapon/Attack: Mini bob-omb throw. Who knows where he gets them from, but he always has some. Explosion. Self destruct.
Beginning Side: Bowser's Minions
Bio: Surly was once a proud captain of Bowser's army. But after being defeated by Mario at the end of one of there territories he was disgraced. He lost many good men in the battle. He now spends most of his time and money on getting drunk.

Name: Orange
Race: Yoshi
Description: An orange baby Yoshi, who eats anything.
Weapon/Attack: Yoshi Stomp. It's only a baby, so it helps to compact its food.
Beginning Side: Neither (Bowser if anything)
Bio: Recently hatched, he had decided that a shyguy was his mother, seeing as the shyguy had been the first person he had ever seen. Innocent yet smart like all other Yoshi's are, it is in search for Shyster, eating anything that becomes an obstacle in his path.
Extra: Eventually, after eating enough food, he might turn into a normal Yoshi. Also, despite thinking a shyguy is its mother, it does have cravings, especially for the orange ones...

Spells for combat: fear spells(later the spell may be strong enough to call boos to fight for us), healing spells, summoning goombas loyal to the caster(maybe they can be NPCs), Ressurection(most likely useful for healing those who have died in other ways than fighting, since this is Super Mario)

Other Spells: Powerful D&D magic useful for anything other than combat. Can summon a block to continue hitting for gold, for one power.
