does any one play this game anymore?

I do... I suck at it though. I could never get Doomtrain. And I cannot get past the final boss, pissed me off.

Although this is my least favorite of the FF's I've played (5 through X-2), I was just playing it the other day. I like some of the sidequests, like getting Bahamut and Ultima weapon in the underwater research facility, and getting Odin in the Centra ruins. The first time I played through, I got to Ultimecia's final form and realized I had to go back a little and seriously stock up on magic. I felt that there was too much emphasis on guardian forces in the game, magic and physical attacks didn't do much till the end, so I had grown accustomed to using GF's, which couldn't be used in the final battle. So I maxed out all my characters' magic and went back and beat her.

I have played through it recently (If you consider a little over a year recently,) and still think it's a decent game in it's own right. The last boss, Ultimecia, never posed a problem for me. I just cruised through her like I did with nearly all of the other bosses. Omega Weapon, though, is another matter entirely.

I used but one GF, and about nine spells to beat all of Ultimecia in my match up.

Turn order went something like:
Summon Cerebrus (Cast triple on party)
Cast Triple Aura
Cast Triple Haste
Cast Triple Meltdown, Ultima, Ultima
Limit Break: Lionheart
Limit Break: Angel Moon or Wishing Star
Limit Break: Energy Shot

Lights out. Used Recover to offset Hell's Judgement

I only one once against her, but that's only because Rinoa used Invincible Moon, so it was only a matter of time. Um... where can I get some heros?

Refine the Bahamut card. It should spill out about 20 Holy Wars if I remember right.

Holy War = Hero on party

My brother bought it a few days ago, saying that "It's the only Final Fantasy before 10 that I haven't beaten"

He tried using a burned copy, but it kept freezing, so he had no choice but to buy it.

I never liked FF8 it was really boring. -.-;

Really, really, REALLY disliked FF8. It's the only Playstation FF I haven't bothered to buy.
