Please don't turn this into a "Game violence" thread.
ZOMG!
I really can't believe shock media. They're willing to do anything they possibly can to get attention. Now, it's "OMG VIDEO GAMES ARE NEW DRUG!" Just watch the video and laugh. Gather with me and revel in this man's utter stupidity as he literally tells you "Your child's brain functioning at more fast-paced levels is BAD"! Fortunately, the reporter got past the shock-media and delved deeply into the decent part of the topic; "Don't ban the games; just restrict them, and spend time with your kids." About time someone got a decent coverage on this thing. |
*watches video*
*laughs head off* That's so messed up. "Kids don't interact with each other." Indeed. The reason my mother ALLOWED video games all the time was because me, my sister and brother put our heads together to figure out how to play games. Though I was glad to see that they didn't go the "No video games" route. -_-; |
I never trust any kind of commentary or investigative peice on any news station. The presentation is so biased, and they only said, 'well, video games are still ok' after demonizing them completely with the crack analogy.
If it wasn't video games, it's be TV. Or it'd be something else entirly... The real problem is something else, not the entire game industry. |
How fuckin' stupid.
Of course there are going to be physical and mental experiences that cause reactions in your brain that mirror the effects of drugs, because all that a lot of drugs do is induce reactions in your brain without your undergoing the physical processes with which those reactions are supposed to correspond. I mean what the hell next? "Fun and Healthy Exercise - THE NEW ADDICTION MENACE?!?!?!?!" ? |
Actually, fun and healthy exercise releases endorphines, some of which use the same neuroreceptors as heroin. So yeah, I suppose exercise is a valid target for the media.
Bwahahahaha! |
"Oh noes! My childrens is becoming beligerant, moody, and I can't relate to them no more! What happened?!"
Well, could it be..... because they're teenagers, you stupid bint? |
Commander Keen TOTALLY made me an antisocial psychopath...
Computers may be a drug, in that they release endorphins and alter your mood. In other news, chocolate does the same thing, along with heavy metal music, cigarettes, beer, and sex. |
Maybe this explains my constant boredom...
I have friends, a social life, and I talk to my parents, they trust me, blah, blah, blah. I pretty much am everything that video said I shouldn't be, minus an adrenaline junky >_< |
BWAHHAHAHAHAHAH!
Oooh, no, I'll become an addict! Excuse me, I have to go get my videogame shot, I'm sharin' a needle. XP |
