Raiders of the Inner Sea: Civility amongst Pirates.
 

"AHOY!" Called a middle aged man in a black mask. "Ahoy Black Rose." The man was dressed in black and wore a fine sword on his belt. He stood on the railing of his ship, the Revenge.

"AHOY! Ahoy Revenge." Captain Rose replied springing to the railing. "Have you come to chew the fat?"

"If you'll have us. I assume you have interesting scuttlebutt and goods to exchange." The man in black said.

"Aye Captain Robarts. Shall we parlay on my ship or yours?" Captain rose replied.

"Yours of course, You look like you've been most busy in this area." He held up a charred Alban flag.

"Ever the scoundrel Robarts." Captain Rose said with a laugh.

"You should know better than any one, Captain Rose." He bowed and stepped off the railing of his fore castle.

Captain Rose did the same. She turned to Otto "I want a watch on their ship if it twitches in an offensive manner I want a their sales disabled before they can get the wind gage" She turned to the crew. "Weigh the anchor."

Thomas prepared the rope ladder for the visiting reps to climb up on. He hefted the large roll up onto the railing of the ship, and with a push, the ladder fell over the side, unrolling as it went.

"Ladder is set."

Jack had heard the call to all hands, however he knew his orders were to stay with Marim until the ships had met. He felt the ship come to a halt so he stood and motioned for the boy to do the same. "Company's coming, we best go above deck to greet them." Jack and Marim walked above deck as Jack motioned for Marim to sit on a crate near the hold where he could keep and eye on him. Jack then took his place next to the captain as always.

Jennette finished up quickly and reassumed her position in the crows nest, looking out to sea. She recalled Thomas's warning and kept her lookout especially sharp.

Otto looked around for Jennette, since he needed to tell her to watch the other ship. When he saw her in the crows nest, he sighed. Now he would have to climb up. So he did.

"Jennette, be sure to watch that ship. If they start moving to attack us, tell us." He said once he reached the crows nest. Then he started to climb down, since he needed a stealthy person to be ready to ruin their sails.

"Aye, sir." was all Jennette could get out before Otto left for whatever reason. "Watch the seas, watch the enemy ship, watch our own ship. Hopefully that weird light will give me eyes all over my head so I can see everything at once." It was a joke, of course. Jennette had no problems with checking on so many things in very tight intervals.

A small sail boat rounded the forecastle of the other ship. The other pirate ship dropped anchor. It moved quickly closer to the Black Rose. It dropped anchor at the base of the rope ladder and soon six men climbed up. The few were grizzled pirates, one had a hook for a hand, another missing an eye. the fifth man up was a young man, little older than a boy. He was good looking with sandy hair. The last man up was the man in black. He bowed to Captain Rose. Captain Rose bowed back.

"Follow me to my cabin we can speak there in private." She said. She turneds to Jack. "follow me in, and bring the boy too, he might be useful in negotiations the Junii are known for their keen minds in financial transactions."

She walked into her cabin. She picked up a ship and placed it on her map next to the one representing the Black Rose. She took a seat. The man in black and the young man followed her.

The sun hung in the western sky. it was just past 3 O'clock. The clouds in the sky moved lazily to the south. The waters were crystal blue, only the smoke from the ruined Alban galley, and the revenge broke the horizon.

While keeping an eye out for just about anything, Jennette pulled out her diary and began writing, talking quietly to herself as she joted down her thoughts. "Today I got to thinking of Rupert. Of course, this also leads to me thinking of my little sister and my greedy, selfish parents. I'm a little upset that I'm in no position to do anything about it, but I'm not going to complain. At least living this way, I can feel fulfilled like I thought I would feel when I finally married Rupert. Lately, I've been seeing my abduction as a blessing. Oh, while I was scrubbing the deck earlier today, some light rose from a marking of blood and seeped into my arm. I wonder what that's all about. I hope nothing bad happens to me. I feel a little weird but my vision is fine so I guess I'm just being superstitious. Thomas and Otto want me to keep a watch on anything that I can possibly look at, so I'm definitely busy today."
Jennette concluded there and got back to work keeping a watch on the sea. The Sea Gulpers had moved on, it seemed. Everything else seemed okay.

Jack and Marim brought up the rear of the little party with Jack ushering Marim into the room and shutting the door behind him. After putting Marim in the corner on a crate, Jack took his place next to the captain.

"So let's get down to business, How have you been Anna?"

Captain Roses eyes narrowed. Her fist clenched and she slugged the man in black as hard as she could. He stumbled and clutched his jaw. He spit blood and a tooth onto the floor.

"I probably deserved that." Robarts said as he wiped the blood from his lips. "You do know how to hold a grudge."

"You left me for dead in that raid." Captain rose said.

"I thought you could handle them. I stuck to the code." he said.

"Code be damned, I'd never leave Jack here to face 25 Port Royale gaurds by himself. I was your first mate for the love of the immortals. If I hadn't comandeered the Black Rose here I would have suffered a short drop and a sudden stop."

"A fine ship it is." Westley said.

"And who is this your new first mate?"

"No this is my Valet, Westley. I captured him on a ship raid off the coast of Floren, and he's turned out to be quite the pirate. I'll most likely kill him in the morning."

"Same old Robarts."

"How are you Jack? Is Captain Rose treating you well? You know i'm always looking for able bodied buccaneers."
