Why would he be from 2135? What special skills / abilities does this grant, if any? Future people make this game interesting, given that everyday knowledge and technology to him might be wholly new here.

Well it is ment to fire a bolt of plasma which is basically (Not really but will be for the story) a laser which has been charged with enough power to go through a wall. Now in his death he hit a power core which shorted out the circuitry of the gun.

But during the story when he gains his memory back he will be amazing with his body as his weapon.

Ok, so 'broken' plasma rifle... just highlight me his amazing body-weapon stuff. Really, violence is the only unbalancing factor in this game, so I need to know exactly what they can do in the "throw-down" arena before you get into the game.

Well basically several martial arts and is a great gymnast. He has no amazing strength or speed to speak of just knowledge of how to fight.
