If war were like a video game...

...then the war crime rate would skyrocket.

Pvt. Larry Nielson is hereby charged with:

34 counts of teabagging a corpse
18 counts of friendly fire
179 counts of unloading his gun on a dead body
1893 counts of calling the enemy a "gehy n00b"
4 counts of saying "All your base are belong to us" to an extent that his other soldiers wasted ammo by shooting at him
and one count of claiming to be the Lord Jesus Christ after going on a "killing spree" and shooting 12 enemy soldiers, 4 women, 78 children, and a dog.

Marblehead Johnson 03-01-2006 05:16 PM

On the plus side, he single-handedly defeated the enemy forces.

Roy_D_Mylote 03-01-2006 05:22 PM

There's that, but we're all still mystified by the fact that he reported his death total to be 74.

Your average soldier would carry an M-16, M-4, AK-47, Glock, Colt .45, .357 Magnum, knife, crowbar, flamethrower, Stinger, M-195, MP5 w/ suppresor, 2000 packs of C4/TNT, a gravity gun, and enough ammo to build a house out of. Also, he wouldn't be able to take enemy guns, climb over anything he can't jump onto, or blow a door off its hinges (or apart)(unless he was a sargent or a captain). In adition, he would be a demolitions expert, field medic, marksman, engineer, capable of driving every vehicle on Earth, and know how to operate complex scientific equipment. All of his buddies would either sound like twelve-year-olds, only speak French (you wouldn't BELEIVE how often this happens to me), or sound like they have a wet sock in their mouth.

Tanks would only hangout in areas where the was plenty of cover, or secret paths to sneak up to where they're sitting.

All minefields would be well marked, and have clear paths through them.

That and your bullets will be made out of brass while your enemy's bullets are made out of talc. Also, no one would take cover. Ever.

And the ever infamous phenomenon called "LAAAAAAAAAAG!"

Medicine and extra ammo can be found just laying on the ground, or within conveniently-placed breakable barrels.

Goblinardo 03-02-2006 01:23 PM

...countries wouldn't be able to start or join wars until they had downloaded the latest UN Charter and Geneva Convention patches.

All early attacks at the enemy's HQ/capital city would be considered "teh ghey rush OMG LOLOLOLOL!1!11!"

Defense contractors and other weapon makers would be hard pressed to build "balanced" armaments.

You could be caught in a grenade blast, but only lose half your health, and someone would have to unload an entire clip of bullets to kill you. And even then you could just respawn somewhere safe.

Deathosaurus Wrecks 03-02-2006 01:49 PM

critical locations such as suply depos, airfields and tents would be susceptable to a single enemy soldier sneaking in while everyone else was at war and claiming the point for his own. when returning from the front lines, injured soldiers would have to find a new place to stay, because the enemies have called 'dibs' on that field hospital.
