Who was supposed to be voted off?
Time for more reading too much into the comic!
I've been re-reading the comic, and i noticed an interesting parallel in the Real Light Warriors, the Other Warriors, and then a coincidental discontinuity in the Lite Warriors. I'll dislpay in table-like form below: RLW_________________OW________________LW Knight______________Beserker_____________Fighter Ninja_______________Rogue_______________Thief Red Wizard__________Ranger______________Red Mage White Wizard_______Cleric_____________*Black Mage?* Now, Brian has specifically said there was not meant to be correlation between the groups, but for the purpose of this thread he is simply channeling a monkey who had the brain of Einstein's third cousin's granddaughter surgically placed in it's foot, then was shot back in time to WW2 where he helped Captain America fight the zombie KKK Nazis and valiantly gave his life for the cause.... .... .... ....and who happens to be the creative director of this comic. Thus Brian has no idea what is really going on in 8BT. So! With that completely reasonable explanation (and those who disagree also think Thief once wore red, and/or do not know who Magus is), is it possible that BM was the one who actually was supposed to be voted off during Survivor:8-Bit style, and WM was supposed to be on the team? Evidence supporting: -on the slips of paper before BM cheated, they ALL said BM - even Fighter's. -the parallels between the warrior groups -I say so Evidence against: -WM said her job was not to be a part of the Light Warriors, but to surrepticiously guide them -I'm sure there's more |
Yes... my answer to this topic would have to be Yes...
Also... to avoid the Spam-o-action BM and RM are the 2 "Odd man out" in this team... one is a "Screw-uper" and the other is the "screw-uped" Being Thief the Sane one who move the others like Pawns And fighter, who is Sharp as a Massamune, wielded by the monkey-brian you described |
Evidence against: Black mage and fighter were both listed by name in the contract with Thief: "One Black Mage and one Fighter will join my cadre of justice to vanquish... yadda yadda... and a third party to be named at a later date...". So, for BM to be voted off would be a violation of contract.

But still that makes more sense than the reason given in the comic: "you (fighter) and I (BM) can't be voted out because we're the founding members of the team."
anyway, I think the fact that the other parties have healers and the lite warriors doesn't is just a testiment to their overall stupidity. |

I actually believe that the contract idea holds more water than the reason that Fighter and BM can't be ousted because they're the founding team members. However, I'm still confused because I thought that BM hated Fighter with every particle of his being, thus he wouldn't care if Fighter was voted off.

But the fact that Fighter wasn't "voted off" is integral to the story. BM didn't care before, he wrote Fighter's name on all the cards. Besides, it makes a heavier case for himself not leaving to name 2 people that have to stay, because then they'd like him more. Correct?
and Brian might not've had the whole story planned out that early (did he?! When did he plan until the end anyway?), but Fighter was still funny. |
I don't think fighter knew what he was doing when he voted bm off, since he looks up to him so much. I figure either a) fighter thought they were taking some kind of test so he cheated off the person next to him, or b) he thought they were voting for the person with the biggest hat. Or even c) they were voting for their favoritest person in the whole world.
...But the second time he voted for white mage so I'm guessing the correct answer was a. :p |

Or Fighter is less naive then he has led us to believe. *Dun dun dun* EDIT: Dasanudas, are you sure you can so easily draw a connection between ranger and the two red sorcerers? |
