Im actually more concern about the Skinning and such than the actually molding of the body...
But yes... i WILL make a Pikachu... |
Will Wright man.
Seriously, if this was coming from anyone else, I would think this was an elaborate hoax. But this is Will Wright. What I want to know is: Do you have to move onto the next step? What if you like being a simple predator? I think someone else asked this but, can I save at mulitple points in progression of the game? And has anyone else seen the movie, Evolution? With David Duchovny(spelling) and Julianne Moore? That had some freaky little creatures in it. I loved the quote "Well, there goes my reputation as a non-violent game designer." The Wandering God |
This is all guesswork, but I think the player controls when they move on to the next generation. If you're content with just playing hungry dinosaur-lobster-ant-thing, I don't think they'll stop you.
The game doesn't seem to be very goal-driven in the stricter sense of the term, which is simultaneously it's greatest strength and greatest weakness. |

Nope, never heard about it. Although that gives me an idea.. GIANT UNICELLULAR PROKARYOTES FOR THE GALAXY CONQUEST! Multicellular organisms are SO overrated. |
Hehe,
"Don't tell anyone where I've been" "Harry we don't have time for you to pretend like you know what you're doing" "Forget the foreplay we just got screwed" I think, Az is right, you have to mate to continue on to the next level, or at least enhance your creature mentally, if you just boost it physically I suppose you would just be a super predator. (You know I came up with this and city of heroes years before and now I've got nothin') |
well I read about it awhile ago so my info might be abit dated, but I believe the closest thing to a goal is this 'become a god'. Your race can evolve far beyond humans and become god-like. You think you were sadistic with Sims? Lets see what happens when you can destroy entire planets.

I hope there's a solid balance between war vs. peace in terms of difficulty. One "goal" might be imperial galactic dominion, via blowing up planets, but some (like Locke, myself, et al) might think it a far greater accomplishment to get, say, one hundred planets functioning peacefully under your control. This depends on how difficult micro/macro-management is, so that number might be ten, or a thousand. Oh yeah, I can see myself playing for that long easily. I played the Sims religiously, and this goes even further. The only reason I didn't subscribe to Sims Online when it came out was my lack of a credit card. And maybe Call of Duty. Take my money Will, take it. TAKE IT ALL! |
I meant god like because you can just snap your fingers and make planets go pop.
Now don't get me wrong, I think of that as no great acomplishment. But once you see your empire in perfect order, you then want to see how much chaos you can create by tearing it apart. Even if just out of morbid curiousity. Plus you can also see how resilient they are. Destroy some things just to see if your society can handle some strife |
maybe you guys saw this on the other thread, but this BELONGS here...
Start praticing the first steps on Spore =P http://jenovachen.com/flowingames/im...wing/core.html PS: Attetion to the sound effects... the same i heard at the WW's Spore demo |
I was just thinking about some of the types of creatures you could make.
How about Driders from Forgotten Realms? Human-like body on a spider legs and suchlike. Or, or, oooooh Centaurs! Please, please tell me you can combine wings with bipedal creatures. That would rock00rzz my sock00rzz. Or something to that effect. The Wandering God |
