The electric shock actually worked a bit better than Thomas expected. The heat from the shock cooked off the left guard's chaingun ammo. As the guard's back was torn apart by the shells firing and detonating into his back, he was thrown forward by numerous small explosions, coming to a rest at the bottom of the stairs, his back and spinal column pulped beyond repair.

The other guard was trying to aim at the CF forces, but it appeared his targeting systems were damaged, as his fire was now sporadic and very inaccurate.

"I'm not sure if this will work but..." Rose moved to the wall and placed a hand on it. Biting her lip, she concentrated on moving the nanites through the wall and up to the ceiling. She was was so focused on moving that large of a segment of the ceiling, while working to keep the structural integrity of the building that she only mildly noticed that blood began trickling out of her nose. With a flash and a large groan from the building, a large colomn of the ceiling shot down, preparing to crush the remaining guard under it's force.

(OOC:I'm not sure if this will work, so I'll leave it up to you.)

Wraith poked his head out and squeezed off a shot, but the machine gun fire was too much, even if it was inaccurate.

Dipping back behind cover with his ceramic pea shooter, he swore as bullets ripped into the column he'd taken shelter behind. Devin and Shahdee were equally inneffective... moreso even since neither had the weapons or means to attack the thing head-on. Shahdee and her husband simply huddled up together behind cover and tried to stay out of harm's way.

...An awkward enough situation, since Devin forgot to drop his disguise in his haste to get out. (( :p ))

"Can we please get the hell outta here?!" Wraith shouted over the gunfire.

In a moment of blind frustration, he grit his teeth then and leaped out from behind cover, running sideways across the foyer and firing his gun at anything that looked important on the mech. The mech focused its sole attention on him once he ran out, taking its "eyes" off Jax and Jason while running its chaingun nonstop. Bullets tore the ground around Wraith's feet, but they couldn't hit anything due to screwed up targeting and Wraith's quick movement. It didn't help that he occasionally ghosted whenever a bullet did scream by him.

However, the mech had a suddenly brilliant idea and armed its rocket launchers, simultaneously disarming its chaingun. Exposed in the absolute middle of the makeshift arena, Wraith's eyes widened as he saw the missiles loading, and he barely had time to react when the missiles fired in his direction, followed quickly by a hailstorm of bullets from the mech's secondary machinegun systems -- smaller caliber, faster fire rate. Around this time Rose's work was just about finishing...

The last thing anyone saw of him was Scrya screaming out his name and tackling him as the missiles hit.

Wolf99x 04-17-2006 09:26 AM

The missiles were not on target, rather they blasted away the wall behind Wraith, at least one bullet did hit him in Scrya, but it didn't seem like anything fatal from Jason's point of view.

At the same time the missiles blasted a part of the wall away, the column landed on the armored trooper. While the armor was tough, it wasn't prepared to take the stresses of nearly 2 tons of stone directly on the head, and the trooper was crushed under said weight.

Jason ran from cover heading towards the door. "Let's move we're getting the fuck out of here now!" He and Kaitlin grabbed Wraith and Scrya and carried them out of the mansion, the rest of the team following close behind.

Standing in another part of the Cyber World, outside of Simon's server, the team watched as the mansion folded in on itself and imploded, the entire area vanishing from the cyber world.

Jason took a look around "Are we all ok?" he asked.

Zephie 04-17-2006 11:37 AM

Even though you semi-spoiled my surprise... :P

Wraith, bleeding from a superficial wound on his delt', looked up from the ground with a stunned expression. "Not all..."

On the ground in front of him lay Scrya, hit in the stomach and chest. And from the looks of it, the wounds weren't healing.

Raiden 04-17-2006 12:46 PM

Thomas was going to say something about how being around hookers was never this dangerous when he saw Scrya.

He felt bad for the girl. He honestly did. His software alteration skills could do minor healing, but these wounds seemed too much for software alteration.

But he didn't feel too bad. He always kept a feeling of discaring toward members of groups. He was a freelance soldier. He went where he was payed the most. If whatever enemy this group was fighting against suddenly walked up to him and offered a higher amount, his term with the group would be over. It's the life of a mercenary.

Jax was lying flat on his back, and holding onto his right shoulder. He was visibly wincing with every breath. Nevertheless, he gritted his teeth and stood up.

"I got a few rocks that fell on me, sir. I think my shoulder's dislocated. I'm also finding it painful to breathe, I may have broken a rib or two."

He picked up his gun with his left-hand, and one-handed it. With another wince, he turned to look at Wolf and then pointed his gun out to the darkest part he could see, where the most likely attack was. However, he was still in the field, and some part of his brain kicked in. This little part told him that pain didn't matter, and he still had a job to do.

"Good to go, sir. I can still escort the unarmed."

Wolf99x 04-17-2006 07:50 PM

Jason didn't initially hear Jax's comment, he was still getting over the shock of seeing Scrya downed like that. Back in the day, she had been near-invincible, and all of a sudden a couple lousy bullets had taken her down.

Shit!

While his mind was trying to rationalize, Kaitlin spoke up.

"Maybe...it might be possible she never turned her nanites back on after becoming a civilian. I mean, none of us expected this fight."

Jason didn't wait for any confirmation, he just knelt down and placed his hands on the injuries and concentrated.

I hope to God this works

"Scrya!"

Tia shoved her sister, but to no avail. "SCRYA!"

She watched helplessly as some blood trickled down her sister's chin, and frantically flung herself at the control consoles. "Get 'em outta there!"

"I'm working on it, ma'am," the tech calmly answered.

That only had the effect of making Tia even more hysterical. "Get 'em outta there now!"

"But ma'am, the construct can only do so--"

"You don't get it," Tia shrieked, cutting him short. "She never turned her augmentations back on, she needs to see a doctor now! Get them the hell outta there!"

"Yes, ma'am!" the tech answered with sudden enthusiasm.

As he worked Tia threw a glance back at her sister, lifeless in that hunk of plastic and steel they called a Controlled Access Port. Scrya flinched, and Tia prayed a silent prayer for her.

Wraith was still stunned, and Wolf's quick medical work didn't seem to be as effective as he hoped. Sure, some of the bleeding was slowing, but the going was slow and she needed more extensive care than what Wolf could offer at the moment. While Wolf was busy doing what he could to at least stabilize Scrya, Wraith patched his comm through to command. "Tia, do you copy? Tia?"

"Wraith?"

"We're going to need a doctor..." said Wraith, almost trailing off. "A good one..."

Tia sensed the confusion coming from him, and from a few of the others. "I know... we're doing what we can to get you out of there right away."

"Thank you..." Wraith said, now trailing off for real.

After he closed the line, he continued to stare at Wolf and Scrya, hoping for some sign of life... though all he got was Scrya's shallow breathing and half-aware blank stare.

OOC: Ooo, is Dr. Odupe on call tonight?

It took a moment, but M4 slowly stood up, hesitant on removing his mask as quickly as his partner. "I... I guess so." He paused for another minute before his skin seemed to melt and his true form was exposed, black body suit with the single optical lens. He reached out into the air and pulled a brown cloak from no where and threw it over himself, hiding in the shadow of the hood.
