OOC: I sure hope he is...

BIC: Jason decided that it would be better if they didn't move until they were logged out, it would probably make it easier for the techs to lock onto them.

he stood up. "I've stopped the bleeding...but it looks like anything else is out of my hands."

As those words left, he got a comm message. "We've got your signal, General, we're logging you all now."

"Good, do it now, and get Scrya to the Infirmiary."

As he finished that message, the team was logged out back into the real world.

Wraith opened his eyes to the foul stench of sanitized control room and blood. It only took him a second to get his bearings back. "Scrya!"

By the time he unstrapped himself and got out of his chair a medical team was already busy carting her off on a stretcher, with Tia trying her best to get close. The room was chaos for a moment as they took her away -- Wraith and Tia close by -- while other medics tended to Jax and anyone else who had more minor injuries to report.

Wolf99x 04-20-2006 07:23 AM

Normally Jason would be filing a report, but instead he was sitting in the Infirmiary's lobby, waiting for the first news on Scrya. Kaitlin had accompianied him.

Jax was sitting on a chair, with a medic holding his shoulder.

"Are you sure you don't want painkillers?"

"I'm still on duty. Just do it. On the count of three."

"Sure."

"One, t-AAAH!"

The medic roughly jammed Jax's shoulder back into place, eliciting a scream from him.

"MOTHER OF-" Jax just bit his lip at that point and writhed around a bit. It hurt. A lot. Nevertheless, he still had one other thing to do. He walked over to the infirmary lobby, and found Wolf.

"Sir...the whole fallout was my fault, and I accept full responsibility for any casualties and all errors. The security system was far, far more advanced that anything I ever predicted, to the point of manic paranoia. However, that is no excuse for my failure, and I'll happily accept any disciplinary action you deem neccesary."

"Everyone move!" Dr. Odupe called out as two nurses wheeled the stretcher into the ER. He looked her over and shook his head. "Come on people! We've seen worse, but we have to think on our feet, let's get this girl's clothes of so we can get in there and see if anything is damaged. Vitals!"

A nurse read the machines and reported what she saw. They weren't good.

Not that he even really needed to know what they were. The sound of the constant, yet very weak and long Beeps told him that she was fighting an internal struggle. Yes they had seen worse... but those usually didn't make it. He shook his head from the thought as he saw bits of cloth tossed to the ground. "Good!" He rushed in and bent down to inspect the wounds. Turning her gently to look at her back he noticed that there was a hole in her lower back, but not one in her chest. "Ok... we have to assume that a bullet passed through her abdominal area, and there is a potential bullet lodged somewhere in her chest cavity. We need to worry about the heart first! Get some stiptic and wrap the wound for now, we'll worry about that later!"

He took a step back, nurses putting surgical garments on him as he watched the other nurses do as he ordered.

He didn't want to admit it... but it looked like this was going to take a miracle. Did Cyber force HAVE any miracles left in them?

OOC: I'm sorry if I made a medical sin, but I'm not a doctor.

batgirl 04-20-2006 01:34 PM

OOC: Actually you only made a couple of boo boos.

1- Don't wrap the wounds until you deal with them. You were right to work on the heart first, but you have to also deal with internal bleeding, so don't wrap the wound just yet.

2- Never turn the victim over. If the bullet hit her spine it could have compromised her neurological system and she could be paralyzed.

"Do you need any assistance?" A medic asked, stepping into the room. Rose was hunched over the sink in one of the rooms of the infirmary and nursed her bloody nose, which seemed to be beginning to lighten up. Once she had returned to the real world the blood was flowing more freely, but it was nothing really new to her.

"No, I'm fine." She said, she took the tissue away and watched some of her blood drain into the drain, then replaced the tissue, "stuff like this always happens when I push myself too hard with my nanite ability." She grinned sheepishly, "I guess I shouldn't have moved too much at once." then she became serious again when the medic hesitated, "Seriously, I don't need any help. I'd rather you do anything you can for the other girl if you can. She needs your help more than I do."

After a few moments, after her bloody nose stopped, she walked back out and sat on the other side of the infirmary, leaning against the wall. She wasn't a big believer in a greater power out there, but she took a moment to send a silent prayer up for Scrya in hopes that she wouldn't loose a team member so quicky.

(( ...Cyber World wounds and bullets carry over into the real world? >_>

I think Dr. Oedupe just discovered a cure for world hunger. :p ))

Scrya was delirious on the way to the operating room, muttering under her breath and looking about like she was seeing something else that wasn't there. Wraith managed to take hold of her hand at one point, careful to stay out of the doctors' way, and reassured her that everything was going to be fine. The shock had worn off for him, and had been replaced by now by a somewhat odd sense of... calm... a strange sensation that nothing was going to go wrong.

Her muttering became louder then, and he leaned in to hear what she was saying.

"Scrya...?"

He didn't understand what she said back, so he leaned in every closer. "What is it?"

Her eyes gazed through him, lost in a world of her own. "Neil..."

Wraith stopped to blink at that, taken aback that she'd mention Angel by his first name.

"Hey, get away from here, you can wait outside," a doctor brusquely told him then.

Stepping back as he was forced away, Wraith watched as they pushed her inside the operating room and shut the doors, the commotion dying down only slightly as they entered. He was left outside with Wolf and Kaitlin to ponder the meaning of Scrya's whisperings.

***

It was a moment later when Jax and Rose both arrived, and Jax gave his apology for the mission's outcome. Wraith was still lost in thought, but not so much so that he didn't hear Jax's comments... as such he glanced over towards him, and then at Wolf, and awaited Wolf's judgment on this matter. Part of him felt like saying something for his boss, but he held his tongue and was patient.

Thomas was sitting quietly in the med area. So much hustle and bustle in this place over one person being shot.

Being a freelancer, he had seen many people get shot. Never was it this big a deal. Then again, he had heard something about Nanites. Apparantly those things made it so injuries like these weren't a problem.

He had to remember to ask the doctor about them later.

MC43 04-23-2006 10:25 PM

That's when it hit him, when someone who was behind him told him of the minor errors he had made. There was no bullet in her chest because this was the real world, and even though what happens in cyber world travels over to the real world, it's not as if what IS on the other side comes through the wire. It was also a stupid idea to flip her over incase there was some damge he hadn't of thought of. He was lucky... this time. "Who was that?" He asked without turning around.

"Uh... it was me, sir." A timid woman stepped foward away from the pack after a moment.

"How long have you been awake?"

"About... two hours ago."

"How much sleep have you had prior to that?"

"A good eight hours sir."

"Good." Dr. Odupe said, turning around. "From here on out you are going to stand close to me and make sure I don't make any stupid mistakes, ok?" He stepped over Scrya. "I was awoken from a nap with the code red call. I'll be ok, but just make sure I don't do anything else stupid that may put this girl's life in more danger than it already is in."

The girl smiled under her mask. "Yes doctor." and took the place she was assigned to.

Dr. Odupe cracked his knuckles and stretched his hand out. "Scapel, and get the clamps ready. I'm going in..."
