Ultraviolet = Big dissapointment?

This movie really dissapointed me.The action wasn't great, and the story was subpar. Much of the technology was unexplained, and a lot of people might not have understood what "extra-dimensional storage space" was. Also, at the beginning, they said that it was rare, and then, like, everyone had it! Also, in the beginning, they said the disease was just that, a disease. Then in the end, it is suddenly vampirism! What the hell? Your thoughts?

I would have had a more enjoyable time gouging my eyes out with a rusty spork than watching this movie. Watch me do an imitation of the script.

Script: "Explosions! Guns! Swordfights that have no blood!"
Me: "What about plot? What about character development?"
Script: "Plllloooout? Huh? Hey, this chick's got a nice ass, doesn't she?"
Me: "It's ok. Seriously though, give me my money back."

You people had expectations for this movie?

Eh, if there's a book, I might read it. Books tend to explain more, which is good. Movies tend to have more subtle details in the background, which is good... but this one, I didn't think so.

I haven't seen the movie, nor do I have any wish to see it. I seriously had no expectations for this movie when I saw the trailer. I immediately though "aeonflux much?" It's sad to see so many action movies starring females (Aeonflux, Ultraviolet, Catwoman, Underworld) go the crappy way of Elektra, all eye candy and no plot.

Elektra was different though. It featured one very, very, very blatant lesbian kissing scenario that even rivaled Enter the Matrix for "Shitty Plot Device"

Yeah. Sucked. And I knew it. I more or less called it; I just watched Millia Jovovich killing people with swords on bright, flashy backgrounds, and I said, "Yeah. Go figure."

I'm sure that one of these days the "Millia Jovovich Killing People Against Bright Multicolored Backgrounds" genre of movie will be taken seriously.

I haven't seen it, but I did have a feeling before the movie that it would be a bit disappointing. Speaking of Underworld, I liked the movie, but I feel the critics are right in their own ways...yet I still want to see Underworld 2. Tch. Anyway, Ultraviolet does seem a little cliche when it comes to action movies that have a female as the absolute main character, and when I say that, I mean they're all way too similiar for my taste.

Exactly.
Which is why I was able to enjoy myself, laughing through most of the movie. What an amusingly horrible use of money.

Sad thing is the previews are probably more entertaining than the movie itself.

The actions scenes were cool, and the technology was nifty, but good GOD the acting was awful. The dialogue was atrocious too.

Also, EVERYONE WAS A RED SHIRT! Even people you thought would be important died way too quickly and easily. And that last place was way too easy for her to get into.

Not to mention everyone in this future is apparently stupid. Guns are not short-range weapons.

Also, the CG looked like it was from a few generations prior to present capabilities.
