Sony delays Playstation 3.

http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&t...aystation.html http://www.us.playstation.com/PressReleases.aspx?id=335 The Playstation 3 has been delayed for six months. The release has been pushed to November because of copy protection issues for its DVD player and, (or) insufficient development kits. Ken Kutaragi, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., attributed the revised scheduled to delays in standardization of the Blu-ray Disc format and to the inclusion of next-generation high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) specifications. Wow. I really believe that this will make the race between Nintendo and Sony even closer. What do you think? Will this delay hurt or help Sony in the Next-Gen gaming wars? Will the Blu-ray help or hurt Sony? |
It will help. Delays mean more time to work out bugs and shitty hardware.
Maybe this time your playstation won't break if it tips over. |
Sony delaying something? Really?! I don't believe it!
*coughAdventChildrencough* Honestly, I'm not surprised. The way they've been acting lately, I was expecting that SOMETHING would happen to screw it up. |
I was going to make a post about this, but I figured it'd be pretty common knowledge.
Of course, fanboys on both sides are going to drive me crazy all over again. That said, it just means I have plenty of time to save up for it. Who knows how much it will be though. Something tells me they'll reveal it at E3 though. They should do it either because A) It's fairly high. In this case, we'll at least get to see what it is capable of to make a high price justified. or B) It's comparable to the 360 and they want to reveal it so the talk of the show isn't just about the new 360 games (which will probably be pretty sweet now that the developers have started to dig into the hardware.) I'm going to get the PS3 based on my satisfaction on the previous systems. Nintendo doesn't put out enough games for thiers, and Xbox is just a little too centered around multiplayer. Still, I believe competition is a good thing. I predict that the market and hardware will be a switcharound the way things are now though. 360 will have the market lead, but PS3 will have the edge on graphics and whatnot. Now if I could just read some impressions about the new controller.... The Wandering God |
thank god... i bought one of those ps2s that were all buggy and just about killed the creator (kiddin about the creator but it would have been funny to see him being killed by squirrels)

Apparently the PS3 is not a game machine so who cares?

Its going to help, and unless an X-Box 720 comes out soon after the two good systems there will be no way microsoft will be able to keep up and it will be a two system race again.
And nintendo will once again take its place as number 2. ;) |

And they aren't even going to participate in the next one. (Various interviews and whatnot have implied that being #1 isn't that important to them. Or not. Who knows.) The Wandering God |

the new x-box came out too early, its on the bleeding edge of technology, they were attempting too much too soon and they will be lost when the next two systems come out. The leap in graphics between x-box 1 and 2 was nothing compared to that of the original playstation to the second. The third will only push it further. Mark the words if you'd like, they will become truer with every passing day. TBM |
I'll agree with that. Microsoft put the 360 out quickly to get an early lead, and it's backfireing.
Sony, seeing this, descides to go for productivity over speed. I like it. Also, I needed the extra time to save up for it anyway. |
