Name: Lord Dragonsbane, also Archmage Dragonsbane or, the Black Archmage. Yes, most of these are titles, and "Dragonsbane" itself is only a nickname. Like many of the great mages, the Archmage of Black Magic keeps his True Name a secret.
Appearance: From an illustration in a book taken from the Library of Palanthas on the world of Krynn, containing records and historical notes from the First War of the Lance.

Equipment: Concealed within various pockets that double as Bags of Holding, inside robes enchanted to be as protective as platemail, are a few small necessities that every mage carries. Noticeably this includes certain mundane objects used in arcane practices, sacrificial knives, etc. Of more important stature are the two weapons he carries, his staff and his sword. The staff itself is usually kept in an extradimensional pocket, and contains many basic destructive and utility spells. Some would be familiar with it as a "Staff of the Magi". His sword, known as the Talos Blade or Talamune, is an elegant katana with a faintly glowing blade of red-orange metal...or at least, a metal-like substance. Those who have had the opportunity to actually examine the blade report that it seems to pulse, almost as if alive, and that its sharpness is otherworldly. Unlike traditional katanas, the blade of the Talamune is strong enough for parrying in a duel. The sword is traditionally used as a last-ditch weapon, or when magic would not prove expedient...or when the opponent is considered unworthy of a magical demise.
Special Abilities: Magic. Magic magic magic. Epic-level Magic, Solar Circle Sorcery level magic. Specifically, "Black" or "Arcane" Magic. He enjoys an exceedingly intimate connection with magic, both due to his status as an Archmage of immense experience and his rumored connection to the Chosen of Mystra. Some say that this is the reason why his eyes are pitch-black orbs as dark as the Void itself. As Dragonsbane isn't a human (some sources hint that he is more closely related to Elfkind, though it is still a VERY distant relationship) he does have a few special qualities. These include a certain amount of spell resistance, regeneration, and damage resistance. Due to his status as a "Final Boss", Lord Dragonsbane does control an evil organization, although he prefers to act solo...in an odd way, handling things on his own is a matter or personal pride and honor.
