"Nice." Agriv said. "But don't try that on any mage less dumb." He then turned to the council. "I second the showered with riches motion," he said.

"As long as I'm paid, I'll be fine."

OOC: Bah, sorry I couldn't post last night, and as a warning, I won't be able to post Friday through Sunday, so just continue on the story and I'll just be following along.

Vace stood up and said, "Overwhelming enemy numbers, slim chance of success, most likely end in our deaths... sounds like my kind of quest! I'll join this expedition."

OOC: Ah, Gimli, will there ever be a time when its not appropriate to quote you?

Forever Zero 01-14-2004 06:56 PM

OOC: I haven't found a situation where a good Gimli quote doesn't fit yet... :D

Argriv backed away slightly, and waited to see what would happen between the two dark elves. Unless Thomas had not noticed the monk, it was almost inevitable, he knew, that the kleptomaniac would have stolen from him. If things became rough, he might have to interfer, but he'd have to find a way to mediate. He didn't want to take his chances in a fair fight.

Sirach chuckled, but then not wanting to be too noticed looked down at the floor "i wonder when we shall leave........"

Argriv took a breath and said, "Look, sir, there is no need for violence. I'm sure we can come to an agreement. As for myself, I don't expect you to kill me for no reason, nor would i try to stop you with force. I am no man, or elves, fool, and I can tell my odds of success. But I'm sure if my friend here accidentally stole from you, he'd be willing to give it back if you will give amnesty. Either way, you'll get your belonging's back, it will simply be less work on your part."

Thomas smiled a little, very calm about it.

"Don't worry, Argriv. I'll give back his stuff." Thomas reached into his pocket, and pulled out some coins. He dropped them into Drestron's hand. But, in the next second, Thomas lifted up his other hand. A look of mock surprise went across his face as he looked at a leather bag.

"Oh my, how did this get here? This is YOUR money bag, isn't it?" Thomas placed the bag back into the monk's hands.

"Now, how did that all get into my pack? A thief must have put them there. I swear, what's the world coming to these days when thieves can simply walk around the good folk and steal things willy-nilly." Thomas smiled even more.

Argriv whispered almost under his breath, "I'm trying to keep you alive, fool, don't anger him."
