(OOC: I think I will. I'm getting bored standing here. And SS said he'd probably be gone a lot, but it's okay, we can handle him not being around as much as some other people, right? Now I'll write a post where she finds her stuff is missing after I go find my CD... hopefully. ^^;; )

OOC: I still think Celes shouldn't go along with getting rob from just because you said your a good thief... She's a ninja...

IC:
Zorha had gotten up and taken a seat in the back, drinking from an unlabeled bottle with a dark liquid in it.

Vace had almost fallen asleep when he sat back down from saying he would go, when he noticed his bag was lighter. He looked in and realized that most of his rations were gone. He thanked that he kept his money in a secret place since that one thief shortly after he arrived in the Southlands, but he still needed those rations to go on any long term journey since that was all the rations and some extra he would need to get to the next major city. He stayed leaned back, looking as if nothing happened, but now he was watching every shadowy corner for likly looking thieves. He noticed two strange men talking for a bit, then one left and returned with some jewelry all of a sudden. A short time later a third fellow came up looking annoyed, and the first gave him something. <Looks like as likely a suspect for a thief as anyone.> Vace thought, and stretched and got up, intent on heading over to confront the potential thief.

Argriv too whispered to the Thomas. "Are you just going to stand there and let them search everyone or are you going to stash your goods?"

Vace made his way through the crowd, now keeping an arm on his bag at all times to stop other thieves, and confronted the trio. He looked at Thomas, who was the one he pegged as the thief, and said, "Well there buddy, I've been watching you for a bit, and it seems you might be the one to see about something that might have been stolen, hmm?"

The King finished talking. "That will be plenty. You are all dismissed..."

The motly assortment walked out, but a pair of rather large guards grabbed Thomas. "You're coming with us."

He was hauled aside with Kal, the King, and a pair of Air caste Mages.

He was hauled into a room, and the king nodded to the air caste mages. They started chanting. The king sighed and said, "I hate doing this. It's not that we don't trust you....actually, yes it is. You stole from far too many people out there and we can't afford sticky fingers. And there's a very very pissed Fire Caste because you mistook him for someone else while he was trying to get to his next class."

Thomas' hands started to itch furiously. It ended slowly and the King explained, "Now, you cannot steal. You can only steal if Mr. Tethlis here says you can, and you can only steal what he specifies."

Thomas smirked and said, "Oh yah...I believe you."

As they let him leave, one of his hands went to the King's money pouch. The moment it touched, his hand started blistering with smoke rising off of it. Thomas jumped back, and started swearing from his now badly injured hand.

Kal shrugged. "You better go get a healer to check that. It'll need to completely healed for the trip."

OOC: Hehe... Sucker...

Darth SS 01-14-2004 10:18 PM

OOC: This means that you shouldn't piss off the High King of the elves. Or any other people for that matter, especially on the level of kings.

IC: Kal walked outside. Realistically, he didn't really need to prepare. They'd decided to give the remaining members exactly one day before they started out.

Kal himself had heard the wherebouts, and was now busy mocking up a route for them to get there in his head.

He turned to the man that had just walked up. "Dude, it don't matter. There's too much at stake here for us to risk him stealing our stuff and running off. To be precise, the world is at stake. This is a last-ditch effort, so we can't afford any chances."
