Betrayal at House on the Hill: Chapter 1
The doors slam shut loudly. The sound of bolts falling into place follows. The lights in the entrance hall flicker, and go out. There is still just enough light to see by. The gas lights in the hall flicker back to life. A wind howls outside like a great beast. Your heart pounds in you chest. There are others here with you, some you recognize others you don't. there is but one choice. If you are to leave this house alive it won't be through the front door.

Brandon looked around. He still didn't know how he'd gotten here, with all those other people, when he was so sure that the room he'd climbed into was empty...
"Uhm... guys? I don't know who you are, but... what's going on around here?" |
The lights in the foyer and stairs come on, just flickering to life they beckon you onwards. To the right and left of the hall you see two very plain doors, Bellow you, you hear something. Your mind ponders what it could be. Likely it's just the furnace kicking on do to the cold. In the foyer you see two more doors on either side. Both matching the decor of the creepy house.

Jen looks around, curious as to what is exactly in this place. She approched one of the doors and looks for anything unusual about it.
|
The door was oak, made to look like a gothic style. The frame is blood red Mahogony. The dusty hard wood floor is cracked in several places and creeks under your steps. there is a whole in the floor on the right side of the hall, when you face the stairs. near it is a cob web covored marble bust of one of the Caesars. A red and yellow dusty rug runs the length of the entrance hall and foyer to the mahogany grand stairs.

The man who looked remarkably like a priest, right down to the priestly collar and persona, walked away from the group, meaning to investigate the hole in the floor. Before he reached the odd landmark he turned back.
"I will not claim to have a perfect recall memory in my old age so I can't be sure if any of you are parishioners of mine, but I can assume that we have all come to this house on some pretense beyond realty-shopping. Perhaps it would be best if we all split up and reconvened after finding a new exit?" He then turned around again and bent down, slowly feeding his arm into the hole in the ground. |
"Well, I just ducked in here to get out of the storm." Jen said, looking over her shoulder as she started to open the door.
|
Only warm air meets the priests hand.
Beyond the door is a dust covered ball room. The walls are wood paneled and in the room is a dust covered piano with a corroded candelabra on it covered in spider webs. there is an old phongraph in one corner, and broken rocords on the floor. There is a gallery above and a stained glass sky light. The light of the moon fills the oper levels and speckles the room in colored light. there are four doors to this room, one for each wall. A shadow detaches itself from the wall and surrounds Jenny. Her vision darkens as she feels something cold grip her. |
"Holy shit!!" She said, falling backwards from the shadow.
|
The shadow disapated into nothingness having lost the fight with the young woman.
