Anyway, I'd have to say 6. No other FF gives this much freedom for party choises, plus some of the boss fights were just fun!

I'm for 7 all the way.
It's right at the peak of the FF series IMHO...not too complicated, not too simple... it's quasi-realistic (no main characters running around with furry tails :p) and it has the best villan in a video game ever. the series just kinda went downhill for me after this one. dont get me wrong, FF 1 - 6 + T + CT are awesome as well, but I just like 7 best.

Final fantasy this, final fantasy that...who's your favorite character...which boss was better...X-2, X-2, X-2...which one's your favorite...which one is REALLY your favorite...no SERIOUSLY which one is your favorite...

Sorry, not complaining, I promise, just observing all the final fantasy talk that goes on here.

To contribute something ON TOPIC however, I'm inclined to agree with Flarecobra, especially about freedom of party choices. I love having a lot of characters (good chracters, that is) to choose from. FF6 also had, IMO, the best story. I also liked FF6 music.

I too am a fan of 6. I think that the coolest part of 6 is the espers though. the make things so much easier. Also, the music is the best in the series.

Final Fantasy 6. The second part of the game is almost completely non-linnear, but in a good way. It also has the most sidequests I've ever seen in a game, as well as a very good story and great characters.

6. Infinitely so. I mean, Final Fantasy has been good start to finish(except 9), but 6 had the best plot of any video game, ever, and kewl music, great art, and Kefka. I mean, Kefka.

Sephiroth is kewl too, but Kefka. K-E-F-K-A. I mean he became magic incarnate and intended to "destroy everything and build a momument to non-existence." He was a psycho. He had the laugh. THE LAUGH. The laugh that is the platonic perfect villain laugh by which we can possibly know what a villain laugh is and define something as such dependant on it's proximity to Kefka's laugh. And he was Uber-Strong. And he had a look that epidimized the power, psychosis, and laugh.

Final Fantasy 6, which I played as 3.

This is an INCREDIBLY tough choice. Don't know whether to choose FF6 for the sheer awesomeness of it, or FF7 for the tons of intentional, and more signifigantly, unintentional laughs it's brought on me. Really now, how much more common sense can the characters (especially Sephiroth and Cloud) lose?
